Since I share Dr. Wily's skull fetish, I have no choice but to go for Skull Man. ;)

Sorry, Wave Man. Next time, perhaps...

Matador Man

Oh, how nice. 8) We haven't had a Spaniard-themed RM yet.

M. Bison: OF COURSE! [eyebrow]

Wait, you've already thought up the plot for another sequel? o~O That was quick.

You can shoot the mini-trucks? Interesting... [eyebrow]

That said, I do appreciate the slight nod to MM8's colliding trains.

But I guessI stick with Yeti Man, since most of you said that

It looks like we got a winner! owob

Come to think of it, did you ever come up with that 8th RM, for your 2nd generation? Also, what's the 2nd RM generation's purpose, anyway?

I would say Snow Man, but wouldn't it be redundant? :\

Come to think of it, we did get Cold Man, courtesy of MM&B, so, I suppose that Snow Man wouldn't be too out of the question... bVd

The music oughta get fixed, in certain parts.

Nitroglycerin and Trinitrotoluene (TNT) are completely different compounds. Nitroglycerine is an unstable liquid, trinitrotoluene is a solid and a secondary explosive. People are also often under the mistaken impression that Dynamite is TNT, whereas it's in fact Nitroglycerin.

I was actually using a shortened form of "Trinitroglycerine", one of the alternate names for nitroglycerin.

I have no clue...honest :P
Anyways I wasn´t able to finish Chill Man before Capcom revealed their RM to be called Chill Man, therefor I must rename this fellow:

Any sugestions?

Once N64Mario releases his engine for the public to use, I'm sure this will give you something to do. ;)

That said, it's quite a nice sprite that your RM has. owob As for a name...Well, besides Subzero Man, I can't come up with anything else. '>.>

But Yeti Man is good enough, so I agree with Irgendein.

Do keep in mind that some RMs have human-styled eyes, as well (e.g. Magma Man).

On a side note, I think that the name of Acid's Storm Man could always be changed to "Twister Man", to avoid confusion. I'll ask him that, later on.

That is highly unlikely. Its a fangame and not being sold. Eitherway, they have no case because Phil's Nitro Man was clearly designed way before Capcom began working on Mega Man 10, because he featured in Phils video entry for the 20th Anniversary Competition (and won!), Mega Man 9 hadn't even come out yet. I'm guessing one of the new designers Inafune brought on to create bosses for mm10 was a fan of the winning video entry.

Hmm, fair enough, then.

Phil should probably draw a picture of both, and post it on RPM, DeviantArt and Youtube, so that no one has any chance of confusing them. ;)

Blade man is too obvious.

No, Knife Man is too obvious. >U<

Edit: Alright, it seems that MegaPhilX likes the idea of calling his Nitro Man "Trinitro Man"...

However, he'll keep the Nitro Man name for now.

I can't really speak for Phil, but I have a feeling that, in this case, he'll still be keeping the name Nitro Man. The title of our game was one thing, it NEEDED to be changed, but as for the name of his robot master... I know that Phil designed Nitro Man when he was just a kid and that the robot master is dear to his heart. I don't think this is going to make him change it just because an official game has the same name.

Therein lies the inherent problem: People will get confused.

Fan #1: Hey, have you seen Nitro Man? He's so cool!
Fan #2: Yeah, he blows up stuff and ain't afraid of anything.
Fan #1: Not that Nitro Man, the other one!

Also, consider the recent "MM10" assets debacle...If Capcom learns that his RM has the same name as theirs, he might get sued (although, how likely this is, I have no clue). Getting his game confused with theirs is bad enough...

I think "Trinitro Man" would be fine as a substitute name, just in case. When making MM fan games, one has to be ready for any eventuality.

Edit: At any rate, we'll see what MPX will do (if he does go on the net today, that is).

Delightful. >w< Thank you for that, miss Vixy.

That said, I think that I found a good substitute name for MPX's Nitro Man: Trinitro Man.

Would you mind translating it, to see if it doesn't exceed the Katakana limit?

At any rate, I found the perfect substitute name for MPX's Nitro Man...Trinitro Man! It doesn't exceed the 8-letter limit AND still retains the meaning of nitroglycerine. [eyebrow]

It happens with naming Robot Masters...

True. As far as I know, there's at least 3 "Shark Men", out there.

Nitro Man...? :o

MegaPhilX will not be amused, when he sees this...X(

On a side note, all the people who came up with a Solar Man must be making a collective groan, right about now...'>.>

Oh well, what can you do? :(

As for Strike Man...I just hope that Capcom doesn't get sued by Kosuke Fujishima. >U<

I find it rather interesting that you've taken the time to do something like this, miss Vixy. óVó Nevertheless, it's a nice contribution.

That said, will you cover the fan games (the more interesting ones), as well? bVd

Flash Man's ability to stop time is useful, but you have to give novelty points to Magnet Man, for using a weapon type that is useful, effective and under-appreciated: magnets.

That, and I like Magnet Man's design better. ;)

Therefore, I go for the magnets.

Yeah, Boss Man will probably be the 9th robot master, but he will be either unlockable through achievements, or through DLC.

I see. At any rate, the motif used for him is rather unique; a gangster. It's a wonder that no one came up with something like that yet.

He was originally designed to have no legs and was attached to the wall with a long cable, but I'm considering changing that and just letting him have legs.

Good call on that. Him having no legs would be a tad awkward, for a RM...

Auto was in RM7FC, in the background of the destroyed lab you can see him on the ground toppled over, presumably dead. He doesn't really look any good to be honest.

Granted, but at the very least, they could have left in the photo, seen at the end of the SNES version... :|

Interesting concepts, I have to say. Is Boss Man a hidden RM, ala Yoku Man?

Also, does Circuit Man have any legs?

I wish they'd use my idea: Make the first level an option called "Practice" on the title screen, and make the level you're supposed to play in between the sets of four levels available after you've beaten any four levels.  RockMan 9 has set a precedent for having things happen based on the number of levels completed rather than on beating specific levels!

I've got a better idea for using missing levels:

Why not have 2 different modes? "Original", for the purists of the original version and "Classic", for those who want a more straightforward retro setup.

Of course, there's always the option of having the "Original" mode being unlockable, as a reward.

Still dont see why they had to get rid of the shop. 9 has a shop, and so does 10, meaning that the official retros have it, then the retroremake should have it too.

Given that the shop was removed for Rockman 7 FC, you do have a point.

Still, I'm appalled that Auto and Roll were entirely removed for Rockman 7 FC. What the heck? What was the point of that? -AC I mean, Auto does get an 8-bit appearance in 9 and 10...
