It's nothing to apologize for.

Ammes looked over to Lisa, thinking of how she must have been feeling amidst this chaos.

Awful pleasant fellow, isn't he?

Ammes approached Alice.

Are you okay?

The girl.

Clever.

[[Everyone except Lucky ignored my gray area...]]

Great. More vampires. And he's got a trick up his sleeve.

Well, then, you world-class fruitcake. Out with it.

FORGET IT. YOU'RE HOPELESS.

Ammes created a fuzz of gray that engulfed the entire area, dulling the senses of everything within. He scouted the area, planning his next move.

Warning: My request involves a video, which has ear [twin slasher], so if you wish to help me, turn down the volume first.

Great idea. I mean, it's not like Mirby is being used as a human shield, right? Plus, I think the shadow was joking when it said that it'd harm her if we did so much as to even touch it.

Ammes grunted disapprovingly.

I hate this place.

He fired a shower of light stakes at the bats. Then he saw Mirby get captured by her own shadow.

What in...? Ohh, what do I do?

Ammes looked at Alucard, then at Alice, then at Alucard again.

Wait, children? This must be the oddest conversation one could possibly have in a place like this.

If Ammes had a face, this is the part where he would have raised an eyebrow.

He's a smug little fellow, isn't he? If he was as powerful as he claimed to be, I wonder why he didn't just finish us off right here.

"The [tornado fang]?"

Crux turned around to see a group of otherworldly navis facing his way.

"That's strange," said Rankine, peering into the screen of the PET. "I've never seen these things before."

"Whatever they are, they don't look like bystanders," Crux said. He lunged at the navis, with his arms fully extended and tipped with axe blades, and started cutting through them.

"Now this was quite unexpected. No matter, the girl will more than likely already jacked her navi in, and the opportunity for its use could not be greater..."

A lone navi, a large floating bionic eye with arms stood alone in the hospital network, staring off into space.

Rankine paused for a moment to process what had just happened, then tried to open the door.

"Locked. Such is life, I suppose." He the saw the jack-in port next to the door lock.

"How convenient. Cr-- eh, Moxa, you ready?"

"Certainly" replied Crux, and was jacked into the hospital's network. Upon entering, Crux saw that the area was unusually empty.

"Hello?" Crux yelled into the void. "Viruses? Terrorists? ANYONE?"

"Thank you." Rankine entered the room and, in accord with the persona that was to complement his disguise, bowed to Taylor. "A word with the lady of honor. Were you given a chip after the tournament?"

And the lights went out.

Crux went up to WombatMan "Who are you? And how did you come in here?"

Rankine heard the commotion from his PET and took it back out. "You're Taylor's navi, right? I must speak with your netop as soon as possible, and I say 'as soon as possible' because it seems that she is still resting and my navi did not acknowledge that fact."
