The girl climbed down the ladder and made her way out of the tower and out onto one of the castle parapets.

[If anybody wants to sic some monsters on me, feel free.]

Then do your patriotic duty and post them, man.

[Technically the same could be said for the likes of Gergoth, The Menace, Legion and especially Beelzebub. A battle against The Forgotten One would be quite neat, though.]

The lad jumped back in fright as the lady slowly stood up and turned to face him, smiling warmly in her elegant red dress.

Meanwhile, just outside the castle, a girl with shoulder-length blonde hair and a navy outfit - somewhere between a maid's uniform and a tuxedo - was making her way inside through a window about halfway up one of the front-most towers.

"This looks like the place," she said to herself, landing on the wooden floor of the watchman's lookout post, "Now let's see if I can get this done and get my paycheque..."

Quote from: Story idea
Welcome.

If you are wondering why you are here, then the answer is simple: you are dead, and the sins you commited in your life have sent you here, doomed to reside amongst the damned for all eternity. You have no-one to blame but yourself.

What's that? You say you don't belong here?

Very well. I will give you a task for you to earn your freedom. Should you succeed, you will be granted the chance to undo your past mistakes and the prospect of a new life. Fail, and you will spend eternity atoning for your crimes.

The task is simple: you will delve into the depths of The Abyss, the netherworld between the living and the dead, and defeat the monsters that lurk there. Atone for your sins by destroying these wretched evils and earn your place amongst the living once more.

You know the risks and rewards present. So, what do you say? Is your life worth that much to you?

Will you accept?

Not if you already knew.

Incidentally, I often wonder what I'd be like as a girl. The Alice in my name is essentially my female alter-ego/persona.

I hate having to justify myself to other people over trivial or inane matters.

I don't think any game is truly flawless, but I'm going to post one anyway.

No More Heroes. There's an easy one.

As the lad moved closer, the lady suddenly spoke.

"May I help you, little boy?"

[Would anybody object to me bringing in vampire-hunter Alice as well?]

Isn't that what I was trying to tell you?

Yes it was, and I do apologise for what I was saying. Happy-go-lucky-Lucky is back once more. :3

No doubts there. Why not go the whole shebang with the vampire-slaying? A stake through the heart and decapitation to sort them out.

No, not really. It happens to me quite a lot. Though usually I get tired of it all more than a couple of days after I return.

EDIT: You know what? [tornado fang] it. I ain't leaving just because of people. I'm just going to stay here and true to myself, regardless of what people think.

Have a nice day.

I've got a new game for you guys! It's caaalllllllllled...

Sonic: The Rage Threads!

The concept is simple: make a thread involving Sonic, and watch the hilarity ensue as people attempt to verbally maim each other in no time at all! It'll be a best-seller in no time!

Sir, you offend me! I would never rage about something as inane as a video game. Even I have standards. 8D

lawl, Dude, I don't know what your problem is. You do realise you're getting upset over nothing, yeah? I'm sorry if I offended you with my "everyone has the right to free speech" thing, but if you don't agree with it, that's neither my fault nor my problem. I would appreciate it if we could now drop this.

Yes, because that's exactly what I was aiming for.

You don't like it? Well, get used to disappointment, kiddo.
