Generally, no. I don't believe in violence for its own sake. I will only fight back if I or a person close to me is threatened and there's no means of escape or negotiation, and even then I'll try to solve the fight as quickly and easily as possible. Only if I'm extremely provoked will I engage in confrontation; I almost choked a person for physically harassing me, though it wasn't out of blind anger - it was more a "touch me again and I will ensure terrible things befall you" deal. He didn't bother me after that.

A technical pacifist is one who does not approve or killing or shedding blood. Making the other person suffer in other ways or subduing them in non-violent ways, however viscious or unusual they might be, is fair game. I prefer manipulating people into screwing themselves over - that way I don't have to engage in thuggish violence and I can watch them bring about their own downfall with a knowing, innocent smile. It's also a lot more fun.

Anything involving David Mitchell. Especially Peep Show. I love that show.

I'm a technical pacifist. Emphasis on the technical.

Irgy. I'd ask him about moose and Tim Horton's because I know very little about Canada and want to bother him with my curiosity.

I would like to cosplay as Sadako Yamamura for Halloween sometime. Not sure why, probably because I reckon I could pull it off and the costume is pretty easy to put together.

I also cosplayed as Dr. Peace a year or so ago. Good times.

I ought to watch more movies. Why does Inglourious Basterds have to be so long to watch in one sitting? ;_;

"The Time Clan," Alice sighed, in no mood for cryptics or guessing games. "And just who are the Time Clan, good doctor?"

Alice produced the shining golden pocketwatch and held it out in her hand in front of the doctor.

"This."

Alice shook Dr. Frankenstein's hand gratefully and introduced herself.

"Alice. Just Alice. It's a pleasure to meet you."

Once Sedina had left, she turned back to the doctor and gave him a tepid gaze. "It just so happens, Doctor, that I have with me something that I feel you might be interested in. I've heard so much about you and your work, you see, and I'm sure you of all people could tell me a little bit about it."

-----

Once the lad and his demonic cohort had left, Laura - with more effort than she was used to - staggered to her feet. Being a vampire had its advantages, such as the ability to survive having one's spinal cord broken at the base of the neck.

"Son of a [sonic slicer]! Who does he think he is, treating a lady like that?"

She grasped either side of her head and, with a firm tug and a wet crack, jerked it back into place. She stretched her neck a few times to let it loosen up - her neck would quickly re-fuse with her spine, though in the meantime, she would find it rather difficult to look around. It was a small miscomfort, all things considered.

"Well, whoever that freak with the talking hand is, he could spell trouble. That's the last thing I need right now, trouble. Like we don't already have enough lousy do-gooders running around like they own the place. Well, I guess I oughta tell the mistress about this..."

Alice stepped inside the laboratory casually and looked around at her leisure. She made very sure she kept her composure cool and level, ensuring her bitter desire to kill the doctor didn't make itself known. In truth, she knew nothing about Dr. Frankenstein - for all she knew, he could be the nicest man in the world, and that would make her murderous thoughts even more embittered than they really ought to be. As far as she knew - or, frankly, cared - he was another monster who had to die.

Or provide her with some useful information, at the least.

"You have such a nice workplace," lied Alice, wearing a pleasant smile while she gently fingered at the knives in her pocket.

"I have some business with the doctor," replied Alice, her expression and voice blank and nonchalant.

Alice watched Igor take his leave and wondered if this was really such a good idea. Her strong desire to get her job done quickly overtook those thoughts, though, and so she strolled down the hallway and rapped her knuckles against the door.

"Hey! Open up!"

"My doctor says murder."
"The right murder at the right time."
"Make fun of murder."
"No murder, no comment."

"Ding-dong! Blood-soaked monster calling!"

"Driven by death itself."

Manos and the Hands of Fate?

Manos was so bad it's good. Its plot is awful, it's poorly-acted, badly made and impossible to take at all seriously, but if you go in with the right state of mind, you can really appreciate the delicious campiness of it all. Or just, y'know, watch it on MST3K to numb the pain with funny quips.

If you want something really horrific, watch The Human Centipede or Anatomy of Hell. Not at all violent, but insanely depraved. Or just read the summaries on TV Tropes. 8D

Palm reading? Crystal ball? Tea leaves? Throw Bones? Tarot Cards?

Tarot cards. Only I don't read fortunes through divination or predicting the future, like most people assume. I don't believe predetermination of one's fate is possible. Instead I offer what I call "spiritual advice"; the person asks me a question about themselves, and I draw the cards to see what they have to say. If they don't want to ask a question, I give them a more broad piece of advice or suggestions as per the reading. I'm quite an occult enthusiast, see. I take it very seriously, but I'm not at all bothered if the person doesn't agree with or believe in it. Most people just have their fortunes read for fun.

I also only use the Major Arcana in my readings. I feel they're more symbolic, and the Minor Arcana are more suited for playing cards, in my opinion. I use the original Rider-Waite deck, because it's my favourite interpretation of the cards and I've spent a lot of time learning the symbols and imagery involved. I use a three-card reading; a lot of people use a full spread or "Celtic Cross" reading, which is a lot more in-depth, but which I don't feel is really necessary to get the same effect. Another thing I like about the Tarot is that everyone can have their own way of interpreting the symbols, performing readings and divining the readings. I would honestly consider it the closest thing I have to a religious faith.

*sigh* Actually being able to remember an awesome dream you had makes your day disappointing since the very beginning since real life is not as great...

Except if you were in a dream all your life, you'd be catatonic and wouldn't be able to experience the nice things in life.

"You won't do it...you know why? You're...too afraid."

"Shut up, vampire."

The lad looked at Laura sympathetically, almost pleading with the claw on his arm to stop. He could see Laura choking and wrestling to free herself from its grasp, but to no avail.

"You bother me," said the demonic claw. Laura and the lad managed a look of abject horror as the claw, with no sense of remorse or restraint, tightened its grasp and twisted on its wrist. The lad's mouth fell open, aghast, as Laura's limp body fell from the demon's grip with her neck broken.

"You...you killed her!"

"Of course I killed her," barked the demon, "She is your enemy! Falling for her guile and even daring to feel sympathy for her...you disgust me."

The lad was on the verge of tears. He forced himself not to cry. He looked away, unable to look at the girl's lifeless body.

"Now come," said the claw, "There is much more to be done if we are to find Count Dracula."

-----

"How long more until we reach the Doctor's laboratory?" Alice asked peacefully.
