Blackmore let out a long, piercing cackle; ordinarily he laughed out of mirth or sadistic pleasure, or simply chuckled because it was more or less a verbal tic of his. But this wasn't an ordinary laugh. Even for Blackmore, this was an insane, chilling cackle.
"Tell me, Doctor, do you have any idea how long I've been trapped here in this realm? Locked away, isolated...and all because I wanted more than what I had. I was selfish, Doctor. I was vain, prideful. Much like you." His grin spread even further across his shadowy face, and his eyes widened with grim delight. "You're so desperate to rule the world, you'll gladly become the guinea pig of somebody like me. But your plans are just a childish fantasy...believe me, I know all too well. You're going to help me, Doctor, because if you refuse and try to escape, I'll see to it that your life becomes a living hell...just like mine. Hyeheheheheheheheh..."
"So, whadda we do now?" asked Liquorice.
"Beats me, toots," said Aeon, "Somehow, I get the feelin' we ain't gettin' paid. Vamp's lost it."
"Awwwww, shucks," said Liquorice, her ears drooping sadly as she slumped down on the floor. She glanced over at the lifeless figures of Nick and the Prince. "Whadda we gonna do with them?"
Aeon groaned slightly. "Ah, damnit. I forgot about those two schmucks."
