Roleplay / Re: The Busy World of Rockman Perfect Memories

The rumbling noise became progressively louder and more violent, until at last, a large shadow was cast over the courtyard of the WDS. Emerging from a swirling purple portal was an enormous castle, jet-black in colour, floating in the air like a mighty battleship. It slowly hovered over the WDS's main building. The mothership from Independence Day would have looked at the castle-ship and gawked.

"Hyahahahahahahaha!" bellowed a sinister voice, familiar to some already, "Behold: BLACKMORE'S FLYING CASTLE!"

[OOC: I'm not looking at anyone in particular, and I don't want to sound like a spoilsport, but PLEASE bear in mind this is a very big, very heavily-armoured castle. Please, for the love of god, don't just decide to take it down in one blow or take control of it or invade, or whatever. It's big. And heavy. And armoured. Let's all play fair.]

"Unnnnghhhh," groaned Nick, as he was thrown outside the WDS.

There was a rumbling around the WDS.

Nick smiled and, naively, sheathed his sword. He extended a hand jovially.

In his usual showy manner, Blackmore thrust his hands into the air, cape flowing wildly behind him. Deathwatch was unphased, accepting of his master's penchant for theatrics, while Aeon just stood and watched with an eyebrow cocked pensively.

Then there came a rumbling sound. A deep rumbling, as though the very foundations of this fragile dimension were being shaken like a snowglobe. Aeon had to spread his legs out in a bow-legged stance to keep his balance, as the entire castle began to shake and rattle heavily. He hurried over to one of the windows* and watched with a mixture of awe and panic as the very castle started to raise itself out of whatever geometric oversight had allowed it to stay anchored in the first place. The castle, to put it simply, was airborne.

"Holy chowder!" yelled Aeon, "How'd you do that?!"

"Magic, my boy. And now...to the World Domination Station! Hyeheheheheheheheheheheh!"

*He didn't jump out of the windows because, A. he's terrified of Blackmore and knows he'd get caught anyway and B. he didn't even think of it.

Oh, I'm fine. Sorry if these poems suggested otherwise. XD

No, it's just that I find darker poetry to be easier to write than cheerful poetry. That's probably because I prefer to have a rhyming scheme with cheerful poems, which I think is often too much hassle when I want to write something. I'm not one for dark and depressing, but I think it's more interesting for writing poems.

After Roarming fell to the floor, Nick grabbed his sword and held it against the vampire, frowning uneasily. Notably, his hand was shivering every so slightly.

"I don't like hurting people, so I'm gonna give you a chance. Leave my friend's body and don't return." He was too trusting, that had always been his weak spot.

"So, what's the pee-oh-ay, Bossman?" asked Aeon, peering at his ten-times-great-grandfather's scythe as though he was ogling a pair of breasts.

"First of all, we attack their realm. That grey-haired old Doctor's base should prove a suitable enough weak point, yessir."

"And how're we gonna do that?"

Blackmore turned to face his throne, steepled his thin fingers and grinned gleefully. " Never doubt me, young one. I always have an ace up my sleeve, yessir."

Aeon looked at Deathwatch, clearly impressed. "Nice. I like the, uh...the clock...motif."

Deathwatch looked over his shoulder and glared at Aeon. "Lord Blackmore, who is this...person?"

"As I recall, Deathwatch, he is your descendant, yessir. Your great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson, to be exact, hyeheheheheh."

"My word...has it really been that long?" The phantom studied Aeon and, though he had no mouth to speak of, one could tell he was frowning. "He's not much of a specimen, is he?"

Aeon frowned. "Thanks, Gramps."

Back in the Dark World, Blackmore had forcibly dragged Aeon all the way to his throne room in the castle, where he did most of his scheming and plotting. As soon as he entered, the door closed behind him on its own accord, even putting up chains to secure it in either corner; the demonic lock in the centre shut itself, so Aeon had no chance of getting out.

"So, you're the black sheep amongst the little gang, hm? The rotten apple, yessir," said Blackmore, assessing Aeon as he sat down on his throne.

Aeon stood his ground, trying not to display fear to this superior villain. "You could, uh...say that."

Blackmore squinted slightly. "Have we met before?"

Aeon's pupils shrank. Crap, he thought to himself, I can't tell him about that! He'll kill me for sure! "Er...no, I don't think so."

Blackmore just shrugged. "Very well. Now...Aeon, is it? I'm going to attempt niceties here. I won't blow your fleshy head off of your shoulders."

Aeon practically punched the air and did a little victory jig; or, at least, the smug smile on his face suggested he would have, had he the choice.

"Provided you agree to aid me in killing that bothersome blue boy and his blonde-haired bufoon of a friend." He smiled, staring at Aeon as he said "blonde-haired buffoon".

"What, that's all?" Aeon smirked and tossed a knife up in his hand. "Piece of cake."

"Yes, yes, confectionary treats and what have you, yessir. But before we can get around to our little business, I have somebody I would like you to meet."

He raised himself out of his throne and threw his cape open. Blackmore's eyes began to glow, a chaotic fire scorching in them. A black mist appeared several feet away from him, and Aeon watched in awe as the black mist swirled around like a miniature cyclone of darkness, eventually taking shape. When at last the mists finally dissipated, there stood before Aeon a grim figure. Grim would be the best word to describe him, for he indeed looked like the Grim Reaper himself: a large phantom dressed in a flowing black robe with the hood pulled up, a fanged skull for his head, and a large scythe gripped in his clawed fingertips. All along his robe were clocks, all of varying shapes and sizes, though none of them seemed to move - they were simply stuck on random times. He didn't stand so much as float, given that he lacked legs.

"Lord Blackmore," he said in a deep, hollow voice that seemed to reverberate endlessly, "I am pleased to be of assistance to you."

"This," said Blackmore with a proud grin, "Is my right-hand man: Deathwatch."

"Before we begin," said Nick, "I know we're enemies and all, but...how about a fair fight? We fight with whatever we came in with. No cheap cop-outs or dirty tricks."

I've gotta win this, he thought to himself.

Maybe a climactic showdown was asking for a bit much...

Nick sighed, picked his sword off of the ground and rubbed his forehead. He wondered if there was anywhere quieter nearby.

"Uh...who are you, little fella?"

"I'm not afraid of you, Roa...I've tackled much worse than scum like you." Hands still glowing, he shot a number of star magic bullets at Roa.

Nick grunted, trying to fend Roa's arm off with his blade.

"What am I? I'm a person...I'm just a man...I'm only human..." A grin appeared on his face, his hands glowing. He slammed a shimmering palm against Roa's chest, and sent a surge of star magic through his body. "But when my friends are at stake, I'm not just a man...I'M A GOD DAMN HERO!"

"BASTARD! Come back here!" snarled Blackmore. He grit his fiery teeth and glared at Aeon. "You, come with me!"

Before Aeon even had a chance to respond, Blackmore had snatched him up and was dragging him into his castle. Aeon said nothing, since he didn't want to get on Blackmore's bad side. Nick turned to Liquorice.

"Wait here. I'm going after the Prince myself."

Leaving the poor catgirl alone, Nick leapt through the portal just as it was closing, sword in his hand.
