"What?" said Aeon, looking at Roa, "No! Look, why the hell is it always about allegiances and being the best with you? You're...you're just like me! Except not as devilishly handsome, of course." He turned back to Silan. "Seriously, though, hand it over."

"I suppose we're just doomed to this same nonsense of being the biggest and best villain, aren't we?" Blackmore took a crab claw, cracked it open and took a bite of the meat inside. "People are fascinating, albeit inherently ridiculous, beings."

Deathwatch sighed and dropped Silan - rather ungracefully - to the floor. "The youth of today, no respect for their elders..."

Aeon stormed over to Silan, knives in hand. "Gimme back my blood, b*tch, or I stab you in the eyeball."

Nick stared at Ryuta blankly for a moment, then leapt forward and slapped him across the face in a viscious frenzy. He was usually calm and pacifistic, but nobody came between him and bubblegum soda. There were ramifications for that sort of thing.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!" Aeon howled, as the freezing, sticky, blue liquid cascaded over him. He jumped up onto his feet, suddenly sober again, and immediately drew a fistful of knives. "What the hell do you think you're doing, asshat?! You wanna piece of me?"

Deathwatch hovered over Silan, glaring down at her with his evil ol' eyes. "I saw that, young lady. I suggest you return my grandson's blood at once, or I will be forced to do unpleasant...things. And as far as I can tell, people prefer having their head on their shoulders, instead of...the alternative." He grabbed her by the scruff of the neck, hoisted her into the air and glared at her brutally. "This is a wedding, not an opportunity to cause misery and havoc. I won't say that again, understand?"

Nick poured himself another glass. And another. And another...

"Hey, you're a...a really pretty-lookin' girl, yanno that?" slurred Aeon, slouching over to Roa with a drunken grin on his face. "What shay we come back t', er, my plache? When you're with me, baby, time'll shtand shtill!" And with that, he collapsed.

"My lord," said Deathwatch, "Should I ressucitate him?"

"Oh, let's not bother. At least it's a little quieter now, yessir. And the crazy sod hasn't flung his knives at anyone."

"Farewell, Michael. We shan't miss you."

Hesitantly, Nick sets the keg down and pours Cap'n a glass.

Blackmore smiled and shook his head. "Oh, my dear Michael...I pity you. Never knowing what it is to feel true..." There was a malicious gleam in his eye. "Happiness."

"And speaking of happiness," said Nick, "This is a wedding, so brighten up!" He shot a few stars into the air, which burst and sparkled above like shiny fireworks.

"The thrill in being a villain, my boy, is not in achieving your goals, but striving to achieve them. The joy of trampling innocent villagers because they're in your way; the thrill of seizing the artifact from your slain enemy's lifeless grasp; the sheer visceral ecstacy of cackling in triumph as you celebrate your imminent victory! And then, just as you're about to succeed with your dastardly scheme, the hero shows up and you engage in a climactic duel, an epic struggle of good versus evil. But sometimes, yessir, sometimes, you let the poor blighter one-up you; a slight miss of the sword here, an inconvenient step there. And then you let him have his victory, and though you are defeated this time, you still smile with pride, knowing that they are a truly worthy adversary. Otherwise, what's the point? What's the point in even trying to be a villain, if you know you're going to succeed anyway? It all becomes meaningless, yessir, just a sad, lonely waste of existence. We villains need heroes to oppose us, for without them, we are nothing but costumed buffoons with no real meaning in their lives. Without a sense of being, of purpose, a role which we can define for ourselves, we simply become ruthless and barbaric, not caring how things are done or why, only caring that they are done...much like yourself."

Blackmore was grinning, acting out his speech like a true master of the stage. There was no malice, no remorse, no spite. He felt no ill towards Roa. This was, as it were, a speech from the heart.

"And, as it is, Michael, not many people will remember what you have done; you say so yourself, yessir. You see, people rarely remember or make a fuss about things that did happen - they simply accept this prior event as a fact of life, and think little of it. But when they think of something that nearly happened, something that could have been - well, that's what they will remember. Lord knows I could quite easily go slaughter a little village somewhere and take everything, but where's the fun in that? I see no joy in doing something unless you have someone to oppose you. The play is the thing, Michael! And just remember, that when the curtains fall and the audience applauds, they're not applauding because of what happned, because the curtains fell; no, my boy, they're applauding at everything that happened in-between. The curtains will fall at the end of the show, that much they know; what they want to know is, why will it fall, and how? That is why they applaud. That, my dear boy, is what I believe is true villainy."

"Oh, you poor boy, I never said I was referring to your little monotone mere moments ago; if you would be so good as to cast your eyes back over the pages prior to this, what do the young ones say, digging-of-the-shin, you would realise that I was, in fact, referring to your inability to accept death and that you are no longer the ruler of this fair land."

"My lord," said Deathwatch, "Why are you, as they say...breaking the fourth wall?"

"I'm a dimensional master, Deathwatch, I'll shatter whatever metaphysical boundaries I so choose to."

Nick returned a moment later, hauling in a large, industrial-sized keg of bubblegum soda.

"Yes, my boy," mused Blackmore, wearing a friendly smile, "Perhaps you will realise that the world - no, the universe and all within its infinite cosmic boundaries - does not revolve around you, and perhaps you will give up on this ridiculous obsession with having other people do as you say. Perhaps you will realise, at long last, that you had your stint as ruler of the free world, but that time is now over and you can't have it back by whining and stamping your feet." Still smiling, he took a sip of his Chianti and procured another prawn skewer from the table. "Yes, that would be a little too interesting, now would it not?"

Enigma helped himself to some of the party snacks, glancing around him. When he was sure no-one was looking, he snuck out to the E-Wing.

I think that's the first time I've seen JoJo cosplay.
I've seen a couple of nice Dio cosplayers, but I can't find them anymore...

The final chapter of JoJo's third series is AWESOME. Dio doesn't show up for a long, long time, but boy is he awesome when he does.

"Anyway, ash I wash shayin'," slurred Aeon, an empty bottle of sherry in his hand, "Theshe girlsh, they...they dunno WHAT they're misshing! "What are you talking about?" asked Deathwatch, the unfortunate recipient of Aeon's drunken ranting.

Blackmore, a crimson glass of the finest Chianti in his hand, was partaking in a bit of hors d'ouevres. "Hmmmm, these cocktail shrimps aren't half bad...and I know a thing or two about bad, yessir."

Aeon's eyes, upon hearing the word "party", snapped open. He leapt to his feet and, at a speed that would make the Roadrunner bow its head in shame, make a break for the afterparty.

"ALE AND WHORES!" he bellowed at the top of his lungs. Nick jumped off of his seat and hurriedly chased him, hoping Aeon wouldn't make too much of an idiot of himself.

"Shall we go, my lord?" asked Deathwatch, raising his scythe and hovering out of the row of pews.

"Yes, I think we shall." Blackmore produced a stylish cane - which had a skull ornament at the top - and casually sauntered to the party.
