I know. n_n I just have occasional, albeit brief, moments of self-pity and moaning.

Because I'm a naive twat, like all other idealists in the world.

Honestly, though, I find it difficult to imagine myself ever contributing to anything in a major way. My talents are usually overshadowed by others who will always be better than I am. I'd find it difficult to imagine anybody actually gives a bollock about my opinion.

Oh well, enough whining from me.

Hello new people.

I just wanted an excuse to say something cynical for once. n_n;

The irksome thing is, my brother isn't stupid. Far from it. He could be a criminal genius if he put his mind to it. D=

Certainly, and I think he's a great villain for it, but I'm just curious as to what's the difference between a super-villain and Plain Joe Fluff villain? Or is it like the difference between a superhero and an ordinary hero?

On this subject, my (slightly younger) brother is quite possibly the most callous, unflinching, offensive little bastard I know. He'll say quite literally anything that comes to mind, regardles of how many people he offends in doing so; in fact, I think he takes it upon himself as a personal challenge to be as insensitive as he possibly can.

And the thing is, he isn't actually a nasty person - he makes friends a lot easier than I do, because he's such a Magnificent Bastard that he can say anything he likes and still get away with it. He quite literally doesn't give a [parasitic bomb] what people think of him...if you try and insult him back, he'll either shrug it off or retort with something even more caustic in return. I frequently have to remind him, to little effect, that there are some things you just can't say in polite company. He doesn't care, of course. If he thinks it'll earn him a reaction, he'll say it.

Personally, I believe in a modicum of gentility. I see myself as part of a dieing breed of romantic gentlemen, so I prefer being nice to people unless they earn my scorn. I sometimes act like a bit of a sarcastic dick online, but I'd like to think I'm actually a nice guy...I love helping people, at any rate, and I'm tolerant of just about everybody's beliefs and lifestyle choices (provided they don't try to force me to change what I'm comfortable with myself).

I guess people will often assume you're a wimpy pushover or naive moron if you don't forsake emotion and pretend you're a Deadpan Snarker. Which kind of irks me. But I suppose not everybody can be tolerant of The Little Guy.

I suppose I'll end up attracting a bit of ire for this, for one reason or another. Oh well. Just wanted to voice my opinion.

"Indeed I do seek something. Very astute," said Joker. "I have come here in search of the greatest treasure in the world; a fantastic jewel that no-one has ever before found. I wish to find it for myself, so that I may become the greatest thief in the world!"

Oh, of course. That's one of the reasons I like mythology; there's so many different versions of the same stories!

On a more topic-relevant point, what exactly constitutes a super-villain? Do they have to be the foe of a comic book superhero? Or does it just refer to any grandiose evil-doer who at least acts or is in a similar position to a comic book foe? Do they have to be in charge of large organisations and want to rule the world? Would, say, a serial killer like Jason Voorhees or Johan Liebert be considered a super-villain; or would they have to be more akin to the Joker to achieve that moniker?

For that matter, does the Joker count as a super-villain, given that he doesn't want to conquer the world, doesn't have any giant robots or death rays and usually works by himself?

That's the marvel comic's Ragnarok.
It depends on which account of the myth you're reading. I'm at least 90% sure I've read an account that says Asgard will be reborn after Ragnarok from what remains of Yggdrasil. I could be wrong, though. Different people have different versions of the tales, I guess.

What about Norse mythology? The bad guys win in that.
I wouldn't call Loki, Surtr, Fenrir and the rest of them "super-villains". Besides, in Norse mythology, everyone dies in Ragnarok. Hence why it starts all over again, this time in the hope things will be different.

The Magnificent Joker chuckled heartily. "The Joker, you see, is the wild card; he is neither black nor red, even nor odd, fair nor chaotic. Beneath his veneer of foolery, indeed, the Joker is often the wisest of all men. That is why I am the Joker - I am the wild card of nature!" He extended a hand. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Sir Adante."

"Ah, forsooth! Someone has appeared to grant us their aid," the thief declared. He bowed gracefully. "I am the Magnificent Joker, gentleman thief extraordinaire."

"Model 529," the maid deadpanned, "Personal Maid/Killer Android. Codename: Kiki."

Killing sentient creatures for no appropriate reason and without feeling or remorse is still sociopathy. Killing them because one of them annoyed you is disproptionate revenge. Setting fire to an anthill is a massacre.

If they aren't outright pestering you, leave the ants alone.

Actually, if I were a super-villain, I'd do what all super-villains do. Get beaten by the good guys eventually.

Eventually.

They have to earn their Happy Ending.

The man in the tuxedo turned to his partner and gave her a wry smile.

"Surely in this wondrous land of mystery and fantasy, I will find what I am searching for."

"Analysis of region suggests it is not in this area. Primary objective: find Master."

"Indeed, Kiki, indeed," said the dapper thief, "Do keep your eyes out for any potential aid, won't you? There's a good girl."

I just nicked the answer from Sapph. =D

I mean, I knew it all along! Naturally. Of course. Mm-hm. Where's my prize?

"Huh, it's Bonfire Night tonight, right? Let's burn something."
Sacrifice a goat to Lugh, God of the Harvest. It's what all us call Pagans are doing.

Try to find the nearest ant hill. not the best way but sure kills the motionless queen.
Sociopathy much?

Done and done. C'mon, people, we need more blood-shedders!

Moved myself to BLU Spy, by the way

-----

Recruitments were still underway for both sides. The war, or the parts of it that hadn't abruptly finished when everyone got hungry and returned to their base for snacks, hadn't even been on for that long; a month, at the most. Still, it gave the current members a chance to get ready for the big battles that were - presumably - ahead of them.

Lucky Spy, on the other hand, had decided to have a bit of fun.

Given that he was a Spy - for the criminally lethargic and ill-prepared BLU Team, no less - heavy combat wasn't exactly his forte. His specialties lay in sneaking into the enemy base, conducting reconnaisance or stealing their supplies, then quickly getting back to his own base before he was caught. He only took a shot at taking someone out when he knew he had the chance; a quick stab in the back with his switchblade, or a silenced shot from his Ambassador handgun was usually all it took. On the off-chance that didn't do it, he always had his Invisibility Watch for stealthy get-aways. At the moment, he had taken it upon himself to leave a message on one of the RED Team's walls:

RED TEAM ARE LOSERS
SIGNED
NOT A SPY

After spray-painting his ingenius note onto the wall, he flicked on his cloaking device and scurried back to his team's base.

As for Dynamite Headdy...I didn't feel right addding a game to my favorites lists when I haven't finished it yet. Even though, from what I played at least, the game was very fun and crazy.
I've only fully completed the game once. Believe me, the final levels - Fatal Contraption, Far Trek and Finale Analysis - will have you crying manly tears of blood and rage. Dark Demon is a [sonic slicer] to fight, even when you know the right strategy.

But damnit I love that game.

What is this Gotcha Force that some of you have spoken of?
A criminally unheard-of Gamecube game where you collect and customise an army of tiny robots and monsters, then pit them against eachother in hectic battles. The voice acting is pretty cheesy and the story isn't great, but it's still a fun little game if you can get your hands on it cheap.
