Professor Birch tripped and landed flat on his face as the Reflect bounced the Razor Leaves back. As for the Goodra's attack, the azure flames easily fainted the woefully under-leveled Pokemon. Grunts from the more rational organizations like Team Rocket would normally recall their Pokemon and flee, but since this is Team Flora, the grunt rolled up his sleeves and slapped several transparent patches onto his forearms. His eyes turned bloodshot and his veins bulged to the point where it appeared they would pop. He let out a feral roar and charged the gooey dragon.

"What the heck is he thinking?!" the professor exclaimed before he saw the patches and remembered, "Oh, yeah. Steroids derived from Tauros."

Sapph had emerged from the foliage after the Team Flora pokemon were fainted and was about to say something clever and threatening to try to scare off the grunts. But that's when one of them slapped on some patches and charged. "What the...?" Then Professor Birch piped up about what they were. "Tauros steriods? Seriously!?" He snapped, gritting his teeth. "Then I don't feel guilty about this. "Jelly! Power Whip!"

The goodra nodded and reached to the grunt, arms stretching, and aimed to strike with a whip-like movement. Sapph, however, was concerned that this may only stun the raging grunt. Hopefully, he wasn't right.

[Keystones are what are used in combination with the mega stones to mega evolve pokemon, right?]

Sapph sighed and ran into action when someone cried for help. "Damn... And I was hoping there wouldn't be trouble." He grumbled, arriving on the scene in time to see some magic reflecting razor leaves off the professor at a bunch of grass pokemon. "Wait... Since when do people use mirror coat?" Of course, he didn't have to think too hard to remember a particular magic user. "Ah, so he's here too..." Sapph said, smirking as he decided to make himself known. He threw the pokeball he had in his hand. "Jelly! Dragonbreath!"

In a flash of light, a goodra burst from the ball, appearing in front of Professor Birch shortly after the leaves were reflected. The purple slug-dragon took a deep breath and let loose a stream of blue flames at the grass pokemon that followed behind the razor leaves.

Probably me, I'll finish soon but having to do 2 presentations in the same week sucks.

On closer inspection... I'm waiting on Pyro to do something with Professor Birch and the grunts in Petalburg Woods. But he might be waiting on you, so yeah. Also I wish you the best of luck on those.

I've decided, Sapph has switched Hero for Virgo. Hmm... Now why would Sapph have switched? Couldn't be old age, since absols live 100 years... Unless Hero was already really old when Sapph originally caught him.

... Could I convince ya to breed one to trade to me? I'm driving myself apeshit trying to find one, since they're natural habitat has them appearing based on spawn points rather than random encounters. >.<

Sapph's attention was brought to a different direction when he heard someone shouting. As he didn't see anyone, nor did he hear what they said clearly, he tried to not pay it much mind. After all, he was a stranger here, maybe it'd sort itself out. Though, as he thought about it, he knew he wouldn't be able to sleep well if it turned out to be someone in need of help. So, with a sigh, he turned and started in the direction of the shout, taking a pokeball from his jacket in case of trouble.

Meanwhile, on Route 104...

Sapph stepped into the Petalburg Woods, headed from Rustboro to Petalburg. Not long after Mewtwo's trial 3 years ago, he had resigned from his position as an Elite 4 member to travel, which he had been doing after having finally gotten Obsidian locked away in a high-security prison in Orre 2 and a half years ago. Now he wore a dark blue/nearly black, slightly tattered long coat, a matching fedora, black sunglasses, and a red scarf over a faded blue t-shirt, dark blue slacks, and black shoes. As he walked, he started to wonder how everyone else had been doing, and if any of them were vaguely upset with him since he had left without much of a goodbye.

(And thus Sapph enters the story with his sideplot resolved off-camera.)
