So I guess while reading the rules, you missed the part about typing properly.

Not to mention it's unnecessarily difficult keeping 100 rings in a few of his stages. Eternal Engine Mission 2 is so damn cheap.

Well if it's money you've earned, that ain't right. Not sure if it's really illegal, though. Just mean.

Have you considered the possibility that this is an empty threat to scare you into doing your work?

Original / The Debate: MM10 OST vs MM10 Image
« on: May 22, 2010, 08:57:25 AM »
Hey hey boys n girls! Who remembers that debate of the MM9 soundtracks PB and I had some time long ago?

No one? For shame.

Well, now that the MM10 Image soundtrack is out, why not do the same comparison for MM10, huh? Maybe people will actually read this time...

The rules from before apply here, too. One of us will compare the 2 versions of a track, say which they prefer. Then the next person will voice their opinion on the track, and then continue onto the next song. It'll loop like that until we've gone through all songs that need comparing. With the tracklist for MM10 Image, this means not all songs from MM10 will be touched on here. No Endless Attack, no Challenge song, no shop themes. If you really want to know our opinions, maybe we'll share another time. But business first.

As you can tell from the MM9 debate, I'm not as musically versed as PB is. His opinions will most likely be much more educated than mine. But I'll try to express my opinions as best I can.

On a complete reversal from last time, I love the Image soundtrack to death. Every song is wonderful, worthy of competing with the chiptunes (with one slight exception). But like last time, I have to give each version of a song fair consideration.

Now the biggest change from the last debate: instead of just posting all the results in one giant wall of text, I think it would be better this time if we actually just post our responses here as we write them. It will be easier to read, and gives off a bit of suspense that you'll have to wait for our responses. We could either respond within minutes of each other, or there could be a wait of several days. It depends how much our lives and by that I mean PB's life cause I don't have one interfere. I can tell you right now I won't start debating tonight. It's a tad late for me to completely get my thoughts together.

Speaking of waiting, I'll once again let PB give his own little preface before we actually begin. If he wants to do the first track review, he may do so.

I'd think it's more like the fans have hatemailed them enough about [parasitic bomb] they saw in the leak and they're saying this to shut them up.

But haters will hate, as has already been.

I think the Main reason that some people APPARENTLY keep saying 7, 8, and 8.5 are "the worst" simply stems from a very simple subconsious gripe- no matter what other reasons they give.
Its not 8 bit.
There. I said it.

You're Too Slow.

Here I go being blunt again, but it can't be avoided. The reason why people hate Mega Man 7, 8, and Bass, is because they're not NES or NES-styled (like 9 and 10). That's the reason. People give a lot of bullshit reasons, but that's the real reason.

No, but to lose in that fight, you must have no hands. Or feet.

Yeah, trials get really difficult. I was able to do all of Dudley's trials twice, once on my 360 and once of my friend's PS3. And they get pretty damn tricky. When there were FADCs involved, I had to remap the controls. And for the links that require really specific timing, I found pausing as soon as a hit connects kinda gives you some leeway to button mash. But still, they're not easy. My friend said Cammy's aren't too bad, a slight less of a headache than others. Slight.

I really enjoy LoI. And CoD. I haven't played the 64's, but they didn't seem too bad from what I've seen. LoD looked better, though.

OM: I don't think it's so much that CotM's physics are different, but the spirtes are smaller than what would make sense for those physics. Sorta. Everything towers over Nathan. The doors are twice his size. Then again, that knockback in the air is ridiculous even if the spirtes were HoD sized.

I didn't hear they lowered her health. I only know that Carl got a HP buff so Tao now has the lowest HP.

Well, she still has the taunt loop for the time being. Which'll probably be taken out in the home release. Thank god.

So that means Gaibon should be there too.

I am not a terribly big fan of Circle of the Moon. It's difficulty comes off as cheap to me. The difference in enemy health from one area to the next is sometimes really large, and a bunch have really dirty moves (grr Minotaurs). The drop rate for cards is disgusting. And that one area where EVERYTHING poisons you makes me rage. Thank god it's skippable.

I gotta agree with that. My evidence is any of Elena's animations. Nothing is that fluid. Nothing.

That's Claimh Solias.

Death's Scythe isn't as useful cause half the enemies are weak to holy. But based on pure strength, yeah, Death's Scythe is better. And it's not all that much slower than CS.

Then again, I'd be backdash cancelling etc. big weapons all the time, so cooldown period is not an issue anymore.

You need Giant Bat to get it.

Ever since FFXIII got a 360 port, I knew Versus would get one eventually. It was just a matter of time.

943
Neither did I. Although now that I look at it, it's more of a giant pimple than something Freudian.

This reminds me, did you have to dash+double jump to reach king in that robot, or did just double jumping work?

I'd like to know if dashing effects a normal jump vertically.

I don't believe it does, but I haven't played the game in forever.

I can't say a game has ever made me cry. But there have been countless times where a part of a game is so frustrating I am calling it many many bad words. The most recent one of memory is doing Mr. Perfect in Mega Man 10.

Joy:
Yoshi's Story, the full story recap at the end.  Never fails to put that warm fuzzy feeling in my heart.

I share this sentiment. Hell, the whole game in general just makes me feel happy.

Anime & Manga / Re: What Anime are you Currently Watching?
« on: May 13, 2010, 08:38:15 PM »
Just watched the first dubbed episode of Queen's Blade. It's not bad, but not spectacular, pretty much what I expected from Media Blasters. They've dubbed Kanokon as well, I'll check that out later.

::edit:: Kanokon dubbed is bad. Very bad. Not funny bad, just plain bad. The only way it can redeem itself is if Kouta says "prodigious" at some point.

25:51 All Clear now. It's not that good, there weremistakes all over the place, but no deaths. I was just trying it out with the Killers' weapons. It was the only way I could get a 1:31 on Pump Man. I'm 2 spots below Vixy right now at #18.

I'm catching up, Vixy.

So most likely, she's not coming back. But then again, Balrog is in the background of the airfield stage in SFIV.

And about that mention of characters saved from TatsuCap, that better mean Ingrid and Phoenix are in.
