making a game only playable once

Except it's not. It's a minigame. It's meant to be played over and over again. It's not like this is a regular Resident Evil. It's friggin Mercenaries.

But Mega Man Legends 3 still needs a trial run before they even green light it because it's an investment risk despite the overwhelming fan support for the game which has been demanded of capcom since the second game.

That's totally a marketing scheme.

Wouldn't all of this complaining  prove otherwise though?

No, I'd say the outcry is from a very vocal minority.

The point is that you can't re-sell it, it's yours forever so cheap gamers will have to buy it for full price.

But, there's nothing preventing you from selling it or anyone else from buying it. I seriously don't see why everyone is making a big stink out of this. It's not that big a deal. So what the game has someone else's name on it? Ignore it, it's just a name. So what everything's already unlocked? Don't use them until you fulfill the unlock requirements again. So what there's already hi scores logged on the cart? Beat them just like people had to back in the days of arcade machines.

I mean, people are really mad about this? This is a dick move? DRM is a dick move. Forcing players to be logged in just to play a game, even by themself, yeah that's more of a dick move. DLC characters and other [parasitic bomb] you have to pay for that's already on the disc, yeah that's more a dick move. Having to pay money to access online modes if you don't have the activation code from when the game was purchased (not that Capcom has done this yet, just saying), that's definitely a dick move. This, though, is such a minor thing. You're not screwed out of the playing experience in any way. You're just denied the satisfaction of unlocking things. Which I would wager most of the gaming community doesn't care about. They don't have this OCD-like desire to start everything from absolute scratch. They just want to play the game.

Perhaps I'm missing something here, but what's the issue? I haven't played the game, or any past Mercenaries mode in a RE for that matter, but I know they're minigames. How is this game different? Does story progression in this game prevent you from going back and replaying earlier levels? Cause if it doesn't, I really don't see why people are all uppity. So you just have someone else's scores and name attached to the game, and potentially everything's already unlocked? So what? It's not like they're charging for Online Pass DLC or anything. Please correct me if I'm assuming incorrectly here.

It can, yeah. Unless you never picked up the actual thing in the first place.

He RBA'd (Reberse Bottle Adventure) the boss key. By emptying and using a bottle that's on the B button, you can write stuff to (and consequently delete stuff from) your inventory. Not just weapons, but also equipment, songs, and most importantly Medallions. What you get depends on what's on C-Right (or the II button in OoT3D). And in this case, Ice Arrows seem to give you the Water Temple boss key.

X / Re: Why is wall dashing so hard in Maverick Hunter X?

I hear ya. Having to push dash and jump at the same time sometimes doesn't want to come out. We're spoiled by every other game where you can just hold the dash button.

Deku Sticks will always do the same amount of damage now. Jump slashes do the same damage as regular swings, and regular swings do the same damage as a Kokiri Sword jump slash. So yeah, there's no reason to jumpslash with a stick anymore.

And I do the exact opposite, Vix. I always play this game to 100% completion. Well, more like 99%. I rarely ever get the fourth bottle.

Aha. Nice observation. I would not have thought of that.

I think it is hilarious that at least 85% of the speedrun tricks are still possible in Ocarina 3D. Megaflipping still works. There's a new way to superslide. You can still steal the fishing rod, which means Bottle Adventure is possible, though the values for some items are different. Swordless Link is still possible, but not involving the final boss. There's even some new tricks. Infinite sword glitch is the one trick that I know is out. You can't do the Door of Time skip either, but that may change. The really funny part, though, is that all this stuff was (re)discovered within a week.

Game is great, by the way. It looks really good especially in 3D, plays just as well if not better than on other platforms, and Master Quest with double damage and horizontal flipping is actually a bit more challenging. The mirroring throws me off a lot.

Last I checked, the Sonic fanbase faps to Sonic CD. Furiously. A good number love it more than S3K.

Not me though. I think CD is overrated. *raises flame shield*

Anime & Manga / Re: What Anime are you Currently Watching?

I guess I was wrong after about Sanae in After Story. Same actress still. Her voice just sounded off in the first two episodes. It got better in the third. HOTD is done. I've also watched the OVA. Good lord, that OVA. It's [tornado fang]ing nuts. Finished Akane Iro ni Somaru Saka not too long ago. Yay incest! Or is it? The subs weren't exactly clear on that.

I've also been watching Birdy the Mighty: Decode this week, trying to finish it before it expires from Hulu. It's very good, much better than I was expecting. Considering what the main character wears, the show has quite a lot of taste. Sex appeal is most of the time an afterthought.

I'm also going to take a look at Angel Beats dubbed and the simulcast of Tiger and Bunny. And though it's not exactly anime, the new Voltron cartoon is tonight. I'm genuinely curious about that.

Wonder how many stages from each game they'd include. If it's one or two, a lot of these choices aren't gonna make it. Cause you know Casino Night is going to be there, and an Ice Cap (either Sonic 3 or Adventure 1) is gonna be there.

I much agree with Sky Sanctuary, though. And for an oddball choice, Music Plant from Advance 2. Ristar needs more love.

By the time the Wii U comes out, the 3DS will have seen at least one price drop. $250 for a Wii U would be more reasonable compared to a <$200 3DS. But yeah, I'd guess it will go for $300. And the PS4 and Xbox720 will be $400 at the very least.

Those look like super moves they're using. At least that's what I hope they are and not Critical Finishes again. And was that Mitsurugi or an expy?

Let's see. I've rewatched Full Metal Panic and am starting to go through Fumoffu again. Almost done with the HotD dub. Started watching the dub for Clannad After Story. I think Sanae's voice actress changed, and for the worse. Also checking out Infinite Stratos.

Speaking of Haku, what the HELL is up with that change in input commands?

I know Lotus is a qcf now instead of a qcb. Which I'd call a good thing. It makes tiger kneeing Firefly much easier. I don't recall any other inputs changing though.

I feel the same. I'm enjoying Platinum much more than I expected I would.

This is good for me because I'm shopping around for a new main (dropping Hakumen like a rock), and Plat is one of my candidates. I'm also willing to learn Makoto and Tsubaki, and I already know plenty of Ragna's stuff.

I had made a theoretical movelist for X a while back. I read it over again and wanted to make some changes. So I did. Tell me what you think.

::edit 11/7:: went more in depth with a bunch of moves, tweaked a tiny bit, and added two more colors.
