actually, i guess moving around on a train wouldn't be too different from sailing in Phantom Hourglass. maybe a little more restrictive, unless you can create your own railroad tracks.

i warn you Ninty. if it's all touch control like PH, you just lost a customer.

aaaaaaand it's over.

2327
and it's about trains. i don't know whether to be excited or confused. i pray to god it doesn't have Phantom Hourglass' control scheme.

2328
I don't get it, what does that mean? o.o

- Wii sales are over twice as large as PS3 sales, and about 40% larger than 360 sales.
- Sales of PS3s are about the same as sales of the Wii Balance Board.
- Sony's [tornado fang]'d.

2329
yeah, like they need to rerelease FF1-6 for the twentyith time. they're already on practically every console.

unlike Sonic the Hedgehog, which actually is on every current console of this gen and last gen, both in physical form and as a downloadable.

2330
oop, Wii doesn't support 64gb cards. it only goes up to 32. still, that's a lot of old games.

2331
You know what would be awesome? If you could sync your DSi to your Wii, put your VC games on an SD Card, and then play them on your DSi.

or if the Game Boy VC rumors are true, turn the Wii into a Game Boy Player using your DSi.

"Even more compelling, is that Wii Balance Board install base is creeping up on the PlayStation 3's install base"

Also, LOL!

lol indeed.

2332
now that i think about it, with this new way of playing VC games, how would this work with homebrew? what's preventing us from playing any old wad we want?

2333
Homebrew solves that, but I agree.

i know. but there are still a lot of stickinthemuds who don't want to use homebrew.

Basically you need space for one game free, then you can run any game from the SD card by temporarily caching it to the hard drive. And once you're done playing, the space is free again.

that makes sense.

Oh, and save data has to actually be ON the hard drive, not on the SD card.

that not so much.

Rockman Series / Re: Co-op Mega Man

I know X series has a co-op game

quit spouting your lies! if there was such a game, i would've been all over it by now.

2335
i would have really preferred a hard drive. VC games aren't a real issue for me. i'm more worried about Wii save game data taking up too much space. cause most games don't let you copy save data anymore, which is bullshit.

finally we get to say "3D [shadow runner] Stole My Bike!"

heres how I see 4Kids.
see them as a shame, because their voice acting is actually good. they have good actors. but its everything else they do that kind of screws that promise over.

absolutely agreed. it's what the actors say that is terrible, not how they say it. though there are cases where delivery is off, but everyone's guilty of that at some point. and their casting sometimes isn't best. as much as i love Dan Green, he's a horrible Knuckles.

Gaming / Re: Animal Abuse in video games

those hippiefaggots that are crying about Call of Duty [acid burst] me off.

first off, they're like every other critic of video games who think EVERYONE who has ever touched a controller is a serial killer who after playing a couple hours will get themselves a weapon and shoot people (or dogs in this case) right between the eyes. i don't think i'm being naive when i say i believe 99% of gamers are able to tell the difference between a video game and reality. just because they're shooting dogs in the virtual setting doesn't mean they're gonna take Rin Tin Tin outside and shoot him for fun. same goes for humans. not everyone is Cho Seung Hui.

if they do find shooting dogs and other animals in real life is fun, however, video games didn't teach them that. other people did, like their piece of [parasitic bomb] friends. or maybe the parents, who never get blamed for anything.

second, they're complaining about children playing the game. they are aware of the [tornado fang]ing rating label, they should know damn well this game isn't made for minors in the first place. don't blame the game for having such content, blame the people who let the game get into the kids hands, whether that be the people who bought it for them or the people who sold it to them.

third, what do they want people to do in CoD when vicious guard dogs are chasing after you, ready to bite your face off? leave them alone? throw them a bone? no, players are going to defend themselves, and they should unless they're going for some pacifist challenge or just want to get from point A to point B as fast as possible. and this is the one thing that should translate into real life, actually. if a dog's teeth are digging into your body, refusing to let go, and there is a gun or some other weapon in your hand, you'd be [tornado fang]ing retarded to not use that weapon to get that dog off you.

for the record, i think animal rights is a ridiculous notion, and valuing an animal's life over a human's life is a braindead way of thinking. but i in no way condone shooting animals for fun. and i despise games like Call of Duty. games like that give us gamers enough of a bad rap over the amount of human on human violence as it is.

though the life sim deal is interesting, i don't see the edutainment concept working any better than it has in the past. edutainment games have always been yucky.

Gaming / Re: Savestates ruin gaming experience?
« on: March 20, 2009, 06:21:22 PM »
i don't think constantly loading a savestate ruins the experience. it just makes it less time comsuming. i'll use Mega Man X3 as an example. i find Sigma difficult in that game when i don't have the Z Saber. but even with that, the climb up the walls while fire and Sigma's wireframe head chase you up always gets to me. luck seems to be a big factor for me there. so once i deal the final hit to Kaiser Sigma, you bet i'm going to save a savestate. because the last thing i want to do is have to fight two forms of Sigma again, and likely have to refill my subtanks in the process.

savestates are also required for romhacks that require TAS-like precision. Air comes to mind.

on St. Patrick's Day, my friends and i had our usual marathon of Brawl. to spice it up this time, we put a microphone in between us to capture all the zany whatnot coming out of our mouths. warning: you may laugh.

Gaming / Guilty Gear Thread
« on: March 19, 2009, 02:18:20 AM »
i notice now that we don't have an actual Guilty Gear thread. not that we're going to be needing one. just bear with me for a second.

i came across this picture while surfing Gelbooru. an awesome picture. but the other day, it got me thinking. what if the Guilty Gear cast were put into a high school setting?

i think it could work really well. just about every character could fit some high school sitcom archetype. of the ones pictured:

- Ky would be the goody-two-shoes pretty boy.
- Jam would be his "girlfriend", which actually means stalker.
- Millia would be the big sister type who all the younger female students admire and/or have yuri crushes on.
- Johnny would be the ladies man, hitting on every girl he sees. a lot like Johnny Bravo, really.
- May would be Johnny's little sister constantly trying to keep him in check.
- Potemkin would be the star football/rugby/[insert manly sport here] player.
- Anji would be the poser who thinks he's badass enough to walk around without a shirt on.
- Baiken would be the tsundere tough girl who's not afraid to wave her sword around.
- Chipp would be the slacker, using his ninja skills to ditch class.
- Faust would be the school nurse. and be terrible at it.
- Dizzy would be class rep. she'd probably have some moe points as well.
- and Kliff would be the founder of the school and/or principal.

those not listed:
- Zato would be the bully, and Venom would be his lackey. of course, Venom is gay for Zato, but Zato is oblivious to it.
- Axl would be the class clown.
- Sol would be the PE teacher who loves to shout and cuss.
- Testament would be the creepy science teacher.
- Slayer would be the language teacher with a strong passion for his work. especially poetry.
- I-no would be the music teacher with the huge libido.
- Robo-Ky would be the math teacher with a bunch of robotic tourettes-like ticks.
- A.B.A. would be the resident freak.
- Zappa would be the sickly kid who sees ghosts.
- Bridget would be the trap, of course.

and finally, because it would be genius, Justice would be Dizzy's kind, caring, and ditzy mother. she'd always be wearing a frilly pink apron over her battle suit. i can't be the only one that finds that sounding hilarious.

what if the X series storyline had taken an alternate route?

in all honesty, it probably would've sucked.

Rockman Series / Re: Mega Man 2.5D
« on: March 17, 2009, 03:36:59 AM »
that was very misleading. when you said 2.5D, i was expecting 2D gameplay with 3D graphics. that was more of the opposite. still cool, though.

saw the first three TV series a few years ago. i was enjoying it, but by Try, i got bored. i wasnt going anywhere fast enough.

i've seen some of the movies/OVAs recently. Excellent, Premium, and Gorgeous, i believe they were. they were all very enjoyable. Naga might actually be my favorite character.
