Gaming / Re: Sonic The Hedgehog CD
« on: April 12, 2009, 07:29:04 PM »
You know, as enjoyable as Sonic CD was, I just don't think I enjoy it as much as most people do. I hear it being praised all the time and I just have a hard time seeing why. That's me, though. I always enjoyed S3&K more, personally.

agreed. while S3K is my favorite game of all time, SCD isn't even on the Top 20. i don't like the feel of the game. i don't like the atmosphere. i don't like the time gimmick, either.

and shouldn't this have really gone here?

saw the first episodes of Dragonball Kai and Valkyria Chronicles. the former is purely for nostalgia. i liked the latter, and will continue to check it out.

i want to check out Lupin vs Conan. dunno if they subbed it yet.

Gaming / Re: SSB Brawl Stage Thread
« on: April 10, 2009, 06:59:39 AM »
i have a few stages to share. they're recreations of most of the N64 stages (having Dream Land, Battlefield, and FD would be redundant, and i've yet to make a Sector Z that doesn't look like crap), and a few Melee stages. i haven't fully playtested them, but i don't think there should be any problems.

by filename:
- Saffron City
- Metal Mario
- Peach's Castle DX
- Venom
- Fourside
- Planet Zebes
- Kongo Jungle
- Yoshi's Island
- Hyrule Castle
- Peach's Castle 64

be warned, Metal Mario and Peach's Castle DX contain the beta block. if you try to open those stages in Stage Builder, do not move your cursor over the beta block, as the game will crash. Test Play may also crash the game.

i also made every Break the Targets stage from N64 a long time ago. i won't share them as they're not very playable. there's videos demoing the stages on my Youtube page, though.

And NO GAME WHATSOEVER has put X2's dashing attack into the player's hands, either.  Believe me, I would remember if we were ever allowed to use the saber to ram an enemy into the wall.

well, Shippuuga has a similar animation and function, sort of. same goes for Sentsuizan, except that travels diagonally downward.

honestly, if you didn't expect Vesperia to eventually make its way over to the PS3, you're stupid.

X / Re: Mega Man X vs Maverick Hunter X - A PB Musical Analysis
« on: April 07, 2009, 08:32:41 AM »
Wait, you're saying that the MHX version feels LESS bland?  How, out of curiosity?  The MHX version actually takes out the backup guitar that was in the MMX version, removing the high paced rock aspect of the MMX track, and actually mellows the song out, making it blander.  I mean, that's cool if you prefer it this way, but I'm curious as to how you think it's LESS bland?

that's the thing. i don't know. i just prefer MHX's version.

-The MHX version of Storm Eagle would've have been much much better without all the pointless, useless background sounds they add into it, in the beginning, around the 0:17 mark, and then when it goes into the 2nd variation and then loops.  To me, it shows they tried to put way too much into the version.  Without that useless background noise, which TOTALLY ruins the intro of the song (which is hard to do with how [tornado fang]ing awesome Storm Eagle's Stage Intro is), I might have actually rated it higher than the MMX version, despite my bias towards the MMX version. Probably not, but it might've had a better chance.

i actually like those extra bits. i don't think that ruined it at all.

-Um, I thought the MHX version of Sigma 1 was better.

i meant Sigma Battle 1.

wow, am i happy to see this again.

i might give this a further analysis another time. but i will say i feel the complete opposite about Sting Chameleon. i never cared for the song on SNES. i actually think it's the most improved song in MHX. it felt bland before, but now has some actual merit to it. i don't know why, either.

i also disagree with Stage Select 1, Storm Eagle, Boss Battle, and Sigma 1. i really like how MHX does two variations of the tunes before they loop. it makes them feel less repetetive. in Sigma 1, for example, i love how the second variation drops all instruments except the guitar.

since when?

When's the last time we spin-dashed through a wall?

when's the last time we spindashed period? he can't even do it in the Storybook games or Unleashed. and i don't know if he had it in 06. instead, we get the Homing Attack.

Dear Sega,

Downplay the Homing Attack.

Signed,
Some Guy

i don't think anyone could have noticed that. you gotta learn to mark sarcasm better.

Also, I disagree HIGHLY with Zan there, due to the thought that MM9 furthers the storyline. Uh.... no. It said that robots expire, time passed, and Megaman can't use the slide anymore. That's not character development. It was like Final Destination the movie but for Megaman. You are NOT there for the plot, you are not there for the character development. (Which it also lacks) You're there to blast bots in a fun game.

Mega not having Sliding or Charge Shot is not a part of the story. that's a gameplay mechanic. it's exactly the same thing as Mega not having Rush Coil in MM6, MM8 and MM&B.

I'm even have the potential to defeat Sigma with normal X!

you make it sounds like something to be proud of. Sigma is disgustingly easy in this game. the Z Saber and X Saber absolutely annihilate him. it's child's play.

Where can you do that?

in the Desert Colossus. if you can cross the Haunted Wasteland as a child, enter and exit the Spirit Temple, Sheik will teach Young Link the Requiem of Spirit. this video and this video show you how to get there, and this is the resulting cutscene/time paradox.

Where's your proof? Images?

how about playing the actual game, huh?

Because Metal Shark Player made just as much sense~

isn't his name supposed to be Metalshark Prayer? cause perhaps that makes a little more sense.

Anime & Manga / Re: Do defeats really mean friendship?

not everyone has a change of heart after being defeated. some get really bitter, which is far more realistic. and some only lay off a little bit, turning a hatred into a simple rivalry. like Vegeta after the Frieza saga..
