I can safely say Zan won't smite you for that one, barring coincidentally named world leaders and boat shop owners.  Both Light and Wily seemingly dropped off the map at some point prior to Command Mission, unless a future game changes that, anyway.

- Bowser Jr. is there with his paintbrush, representing for the Yoshi camp. he is basically the same as Baby Bowser. and he's the only Baby that would really work.
Bowser Jr. is not Baby Bowser, no matter how similar they may look.  If you want Yoshi representation, go for Kamek.

(Naval Piranha would make a cool Adventure Mode boss, too)

- Krystal is to again up the female quotient, as well as to add more diversity to the Starfox camp.
Thank you.  I'm not the biggest Krystal fan (do like, just not nuts), but a staff-user would at least break the Fox-triplet crap.

- Micaiah is there to add more females and not clutter the game with swordsmen.
I still say Zelda's magical A button arsenal is too much up Micaiah's Light Magic alley.  While I realize everyone and their dog will argue with me on popularity grounds, if I were to pick a female non-sword FE character, I'd go with Shiida, Titania, or Lethe.

Again, I still don't think Wily has anything to do with Sigma's new body to begin with.
No kidding that building a Sigma body isn't anything special, that's not what I meant.  That stuff is from Servbot20's collected sourcebook information.

Sagesse (Serges)
Leader of the 3 main Counter Hunters. Like the legendary mad scientist, he is
a super genius! His thought program is believed to exceed even Sigma's, but
because he lacks physical strength, he uses his craftiness to come up with
attacks, while riding the hovering pedestal and Sagesse Tank. He was
responsible for the creation of Sigma's and Zero's new bodies.

What reason do we have to believe that Wily lacked any consciousness prior to X2?  He has to have been around earlier to build Siggy's new body, one would think.  And what about the pre-X1 Zero-vs-Sigma headache of doom?  The ol' W on the head kinda raises eyebrows.

Zero fairly obviously outclassed X in X1, despite a seeming loss of power since facing Sigma (I know Marshmallow Man will argue to hell with me on that one, but I do not see TDoS Zero having X4 flashback Zero's strength).  Had Wily retaken Zero then, X would have been toast.

Now, THAT, I know.

Neon > Volt > Launch > Flame > Wire > Overdrive > Blast > Tunnel > Neon

Go on, make sense of that one. :P  Two bosses have their SNES weakness still present in the game and yet overridden.  Wire Sponge's was downplayed and Volt Catfish's was completely eliminated.  And Overdrive Ostrich is weak to Wire Sponge's weapon, while it was originally the other way around.

Seriously, though, the whole "because x boss is absent weakness to y boss's weapon was added" is exactly my point.  You also missed with Xtreme1 that Wheel Gator's SNES weakness isn't Magnet Mine, it's Strike Chain.

I see the whole thing as Zero needing some room to grow, and/or having kinks to work out in the evilness strategy.  Let's be honest, neither X nor Zero were at the top of their game in X1, that's for sure.  And comparing the X2 evilness to the X5 evilness is a definite no-brainer for X5.

The whole thing is fun to brainstorm about.  Just how well would have Zero's viral immunity been established in X2, anyway?  Is he possibly building resistance over time, perhaps to the "impurity" of Sigma's data being in the equation?

But yeah, it's not about evil, it's not about conquest, it's about being superior.  If Wily just wanted to kill X for the sake of killing X, he could have done so rather easily in X1 or beforehand, not to mention the whole stab-in-the-back thing I brought up above (something which only Gate's Nightmare Zero ever attempted).  While Wily certainly seems to enjoy a match between them, it's supposed to prove something.  Now where does that leave him after the X5 stalemate?  Back to the drawing board, perhaps waiting to see where they grow from there.  And Sigma's attempts at killing Zero?  Between that and the disembodied X6 voice, it's a safe bet their alliance ended there.  If by chance Wily considers taking Sigma out of the picture a priority and not just a passtime, then I could honestly see him being involved in the copy chip arc.  But that depends on how much continuity means to whoever picks up the X-series after its current break.

I still call you mad for this. Snake is one of easy bosses, along with Top and Magnet. Needle on the other hand is a pain in the ass, his only virtue is the E-tank and the fact that his stage is fairly easy. If it weren't for Gemini's stage being such a pain, I'd rather face him buster only than I would face Needle.
You call me mad, I call you mad.  I can pretty reliably beat Needle Man buster-only and tank-less, more so than Shadow, Spark, or Gemini.  Gemini Man is the toughest buster-only boss for me, by far.  In fact he's the only one of the eight that I haven't actually defeated that way.

Snake Man......okay, so he's not that tough.  Although I by no means consider him as easy as Top or Magnet, but you basically just have to know how to use the terrain in his room.  I guess I just enjoy fighting Needle Man more.

Well, even though whether or not this ties into X is speculative, according to Quint Wily does genuinely reform at some point.

But really, World Domination always had its roots in the rivalry with Light.  The whole point was Wily proving that he's superior, dominance was merely a means to do so.  I don't find the fact that he might shift priorities as he grows older and faces/combats his own mortality at all unusual.  It's the same goal, different method.  It just happens to be well-fitting that the X-series is supposed to have a more serious atmosphere to it than Classic.

Besides, why would Wily have ever sealed Zero in the first place otherwise?

Yeah, but even if going completely item/FS-less, there's still the fact that Final Destination severely downplays the aerial game.  That's what I hate about it.  The lack of terrain difference also grants undue leverage to lateral distance moves, be they dashing or projectile.

This is also true, to a lesser extent, of Battlefield.  Sure, it has platforms, but they're so closed in that it doesn't make much difference.

This happens to me all the time. -u-' IMO, Wolf + Falco + Final Destination = FUN!
The Landmaster is the most obvious example, but really, you can get screwed in a lot of ways on Final Destination.  Smash was never conceived as a flat-terrain-and-platformless fighter, and there are a lot of issues with trying to force that as "the" metagame the way the tournament community tried to in Melee.  Brawl just happened to make that even more apparent.  Which is really a lousy time to start adding a Final Destination 4-player free for all into Classic mode. Well, who knows?  Maybe they were trying to go for a "no shortcuts for you" mentality.  Of course, that doesn't work after Rush Jet. ???

This was true in the Game Boy game, though, since it actually had to tie the broken weakness rings together.
There is nothing broken about MM3's weakness ring.  It's just actually two rings.  And the GB games generally do not honor previous weaknesses, in part because they mish-mash bosses from two NES games.

I'm just wondering who the hell got the idea to start the second ring with Snake Man in the guides.  Needle Man is much easier for me, and if all else fails his stage includes an Energy Tank, not that the awesome players will need it.  Then again, you could say the exact same thing for the first ring and Magnet Man.  Top Man is by far the easiest boss in the game.

And then you have Elipso
Elpizo I'll give you, that is to say his actions over the first half of the game.  That is my idea of blurry.  After that he makes the jump to a full-blown Maverick.  Which actually is the one thing I like about him, the fact that he brought that into the Zero series.

Personally, I don't think it's in Wily's character to stay in the background.  He's a Mad Scientist who wants to rule the world.  If Wily had other means, why would he care about Zero?  Because Zero is his final Creation?
If Wily could cheat death and wanted to rule the world, he'd have done so after Light croaked prior to X awakening.  He probably wouldn't have sicced Zero on Sigma in X6, either.  And he'd have had Zero stab X in the back in X2/X5 rather than openly confronting him.  Wily's presence in the X-series is not about ruling the world, it's about his rivalry with Light.

The movie you mentioned is redeemable due to MST3K.
I gotta track down more MST3K, the only Godzilla flick I saw them do was Megalon.

"Well, folks, I guess no matter how hard you try, there's just no way to make parallel parking exciting."

Why don't they call it Super YOSHI 64?
Probably because, as wonderfully broken as the eggs can be, Yoshi can't beat Bowser without transforming into someone else, cannot enter World 5, and gets the ass end of the Power Flower deal.  Nobody but Mario can finish the game, and Mario's the only character to get two "!" box power-ups.

a lot of final smashes need to be balanced anyway. I think the smash ball system works well, I just think the insta-KO ones should go. I know they're supers but they could just be high damagers, the whole unavoidable death because I couldn't reach an awkwardly placed smash ball doesn't leave with the feeling that I've been served an honest match.
This I do not agree with.  First of all, no Final Smash is unavoidable if you're careful/skillful enough (at least assuming the stage has decent variance; you're pretty much screwed if you're stuck against a Landmaster on Final Destination).  It's a momentary challenge, one which I'm happy to contend with.  If you submit yourself to death just because you know a Zero Laser is on the way, that's your problem.

The entire point of the Smash Balls is that anyone has access to them, just like the other items.  The fact that Smash Bros. is so off the wall and so unlike a traditional fighter is a key part of the game's appeal to many, myself included.  But ever since Melee the game has accommodated those who try to "force" the game into a traditional fighter.  Leave it at that.  If you don't like Final Smashes, there's no reason you can't turn the Smash Balls off.

much like the movie Godzilla's Revenge

Hey, Gabera isn't my favorite monster either, but it wasn't THAT bad.  It can't possibly be worse than having Godzilla stuck in a role written for King Kong (Ebirah).

Ammo wasn't so bad in stages that gave you that giant, almost comical gatling gun.  Why swords had ammo, though, I'll never know.

Basically, I don't think Shadow was a great game.  But they came close.  Closer than they have in any other post-SA2 3D platformer.

Point taken.  I'd meant to add that too, but I reconsidered what with the suggestion for Pichu being part of PT's roster.  But in Pichu's case the self-damage kinda evens it out more, since his teammates have to put up with that extra damage following any switches.

This is why it sucks that the PS2 doesn't natively support trading save files over the internet.  Because if I could send PB a New Game Plus, I would.

Well, you don't start with Mario in SM64DS either, and I sure as hell loved that game. 8)

And, don't forget:

Defeat 35 Artificial Chaos
Oh yeah, that one.  *shudder*

Missions could have used some fine-tuning, yes.  But most worked, and they're USUALLY optional.  The Artifical Chaos one was evil, though.

I don't think slavery has been an issue in any MegaMan game, save possibly 9.  Prejudice, certainly, there's tons of that in Zero and in X4.  But the X-series as a whole is more about survival of the fittest.  The philosophy behind Mavericks isn't to "liberate" themselves, but rather that the "inferior" humans are limiting their growth and should thus be annihilated.  Cain's journal made that pretty clear, and all the way up to XCM I've seen nothing clash with it.

Out of curiosity, am I the only one who thinks it would be better, story wise, to have Dr. Wily just simply having built Zero as his final act of defiance, and simply remain dead?
Well, I don't.  Wily for the most part stays in the background as it is; he only ever appears when Zero's survival is at stake.  For him to be rebuilt any other way would downplay the "mysterious body" aspect of X and Zero, which messes with a lot of story points, especially pre-XCM.  Wily hasn't been milked by any means; quite the contrary, the fact that he was dropped like a rock actually bugs quite a few fans.

As for Light, I like the contribution story-wise in X4-6, and X8.  It adds a sort of otherworldly aspect to the series, not to mention a unique perspective.  This is what I like about the "sentient" holograms.  The "recorded" ones, such as X7's, contribute absolutely nothing when used so late in the story.  They are senseless and forgettable.

As far as rumors that started when the Internet was starting to catch on, some guy had a petition that was merely a huge ad for his page saying that Capcom deliberately killed 2D Mega Man in favor of Mega Man Legends and that we had to take up on arms and fight this atrocity.

Again, they WOULD have been if not for that last boss fork.  That was the killer.  It's completely pointless, and only serves to bore and antagonize the player as they're trying to unlock Last Story.  Thankfully Last Story is kickass, but after going through that it is VERY, VERY, VERY hard to convince yourself to replay any other segment of the game again.  That turned out counterproductive in the worst possible way; the game would have had so much more replay value if that last fork wasn't forced on you.

Gaming / Re: Sonic Unleashed

Again, it's mainly my stubbornness that makes me refuse to ever play that game.  You have to UNLOCK the MAIN character of the series.  I don't care if they were trying to force Axl down your throat, or even if you think that Zero IS the main character of the X series, which he pretty much is by X4.  I just found it so goddamn retarded.  It'd literally be like having to unlock Sonic in a Sonic game...which knowing SEGA is probably not all that far off one day.
This is *ONLY* applicable to the first playthrough.  X is unavoidable, he joins you when the 8 Mavs are defeated whether you rescued enough 'roids or not, and he's part of New Game Plus.  So, save the intro stage, you never have to be without him again.  I guess it doesn't bother me because his nuke-sized charged shot is of such insane strength that you realize why, from a gameplay standpoint, he was delayed, and it is well worth it.  He makes bosses several times easier.

I have issues with X in X7 for far different reasons.  First of all, his getting shafted from cutscenes.  He rocks in gameplay despite any temporary absences, that doesn't bug me at all, but he never DOES anything storywise during the entire course of the 8 Mavericks, not to mention the fight with Red.  And second, he is so damn whiney that I'm almost glad the cutscenes shafted him.

Oh, and I do not agree that Zero spotlight-stole from X in X4-onwards.  In X5 and X6 Zero is a source of conflict, but he doesn't really have anymore character development than X does (in fact I think X6 was character-wise X's best game).  In X4 he did, but that's because it's his introduction as a player, being just now promoted to co-star it's kinda necessary.  Although, as with X7, X could have stood more cutscene time.

BURN, BURN, BURNED TO THE GROUND.
I love that part for some reason. 8)

WOOOOOOW.

I mean I always said it and thought things weren't as bad as they looked, but damn, this article is blunt. The line about Sonic Team being bored and close minded really hit home for some reason.
Well, they are.  By no means has Sonic Team lacked a good core concept, they've had several.  What they lack is polish, and unfortunately I think Journey of Dreams was a new low for them (granted I have not played Sonic '06).

Ironically I think Shadow The Hedgehog was among the more successful, quality-wise, of their recent efforts (besides Secret Rings, anyway).  Sure, you need to pretend the Vs. play doesn't exist, and that final boss fork makes unlocking the Last Story complete hell.  But the game handles well with a (usually) reasonable level of flexibility, and a proper focus on speed/platforming gameplay.  The weapons are, thankfully, an extremely simplified extra feature, so they don't take too much focus away, despite fears to the contrary fed by the game's horrid marketing.

Well, it's a hell of a topic derail, but:

X7 is by no means extraordinary, but I do feel that it had its strong points.  All characters had at least one kickass weapon, and there were some strong pieces of music (Maverick and first Sigma especially)  And I do not by any means feel it was the worst of the series (that goes to Xtreme1).  But it is low on my list, as X3 and X5 are: Still plenty of fun, just not up to snuff with the rest.

X7's 2D/3D hybrid choice really shot it in the foot.  All too many elements of the game (including auto-lock and many of Zero's attacks) were obviously designed for one "dimension" with no real thought as to how well they'd impact the other.  The fact that the 2D level design, with the possible exception of Soldier Stonekong, felt as if it was done by a trained monkey was no help, either.

The aforementioned Stonekong as well as Anteater and Gungaroo levels were all great efforts, though.  They were original and engaging, but the rest of the game doesn't measure up.
