I hope you're right.  I mean, it's just hard to see him being something other than Zero.
Very true, although for most of us that probably has something to do with never hearing him do anything but Zero.

remember the DiGi Charat dub?

yeah, neither do i.
Case in point. ???

But I dunno.  Even the RPM voice samples sound more casual than his Zero acting to me.

Link having a voice in LttP for GBA was damn awkward and felt unnatural. Same for Yoshi in the GBA version of Yoshi's Island.
Agreed on the first, denied on the second.  Yoshi's voice adds to the atmosphere.  Link's in LttP is unfitting; his age is a bit ambiguous but most of us were probably envisioning him as at least an adolescent and not a kid.

And exploiting his weakness is kind of a double-edged sword, considering the crap he throws at you when you do.

X / Re: You know, X and Zero's action poses?

really?
That and his voice recognition as well.

In the Zero series, wasn't it a helmet part that shortened his charge time?  Should that lend evidence to the idea that, though the charging mechanism may not be the helmet gem, it could still be somewhere in his head?  I dunno.  I always thought the charge process originated in the reploid's microfusion reactor and was then focused through the Buster or Saber.
It probably is, when you look at the design of XCM's Ultimate Armor.  That and X1 specs list the arm as containing an "energy amplifier".

Since day one the head gem has flashed to indicate low power.  Beyond that, who knows?  But head upgrades have tied into many things.  Weapon energy consumption, peripheral weapon analysis, self-repair, radar, charge speed, power-up magnet, weapon targeting, and of course the ALMIGHTY HEAD CRUSH that the Xtremes love to milk.  >.>  Heck, a very-hard-to-find X5 snippit (Skiver capsule as Zero) suggests that head parts could be used to beef up defenses beyond the body upgrade alone, and X8's menu indicates a link between Head Parts U and the Shoryuken.  I think the head upgrades are kind of a "miscellaneous extension" deal, they can be virtually anything.  General systemic stuff especially, since arms, legs, and body tend to be associated with more specific functions (attack, mobility, and defense/giga, respectively).  And it kinda makes sense for an upgrade to systems management to be in the part closest to the brain.

Rockman Series / Re: Your Mega Man Series!

For a while I've dreamed of reviving the Xtreme spinoffs on the DS, except tie them to the main series plot a little closer (Xtreme2 moved slightly in that direction with Iris and the Colonel/Repliforce reference).  Explore the aftermath of X4 and X6.  The earlier should damn well have some evil guy (probably the same bald scar-eyed guy we all know) trying to take advantage of Iris's "ultimate Reploid" background.  I always thought the fact that no villain attempted to pick that up was a tremendous waste.  The latter game would deal with the cleanup after the Nightmare, the growing distrust of the Maverick Hunters, and X and Zero taking a hard look at themselves (as we all know, X's doesn't end well; maybe Zero can smack him in the head, since it's what we were all thinking at X7).

PS1 visuals, remixed soundtracks (we damn well need an X2 Zero theme remix).  And oh yeah, co-op or bust.

i'd never create a new MM series. i'd prefer to work with established characters in this case. i respect canon, so i wouldn't exactly fill in gaps so much as do something that isn't important to the series' growth.

and if Zero 4 taught me anything, it's that closure sucks.
Pretty much agreed.  Although to be honest I was glad to see the Zero-series closed (what can I say, X-series Zero is better), but Inti did a sucky job of it.  They did a great job of killing Zero, which is saying a lot after the crapfest that was X5's ending, they just neglected too much otherwise.

Like I said, that would be me if I left the cursor on the Random option when the time ran out (I leave the Ocarina codes on whether I intend to fight on a custom stage or not; so I can keep Replays over 3 minutes).

...which I might have.  Now that I think about it, I recall seeing Battlefield on the menu, and there's no way I'd have chosen that on my own.  What can I say, you get wrapped up in punching in a response before the next match starts sometimes. >w<

That was more luck of the items than anything else.
A little from Column A, a little from Column B.

And yeah, I won't speak of Green Hill Zone again either.  Even I have more respect for my opponents than that. ???  Damn Nintendo's crappy servers.

Well, I was hoping to be in bed by 1, and nobody else is viewing this thread.  So I'll turn in for now.  Next time...or whenever the hell the connection is up to snuff, I'll be ready to Super Dragon roast some more combatants.

I know what you're talking about, but when it lags, it lags on both ends.  Not as if I didn't catch hell in the first half of that F-Zero match.  I just bounced back.

But yeah.  Laggy matches blow, one way or the other.  The phrase, "nobody wins" is more applicable to that than Akamaru's and my black void from tonight.

Once again, I have plenty of replays to prove otherwise.  You just caught me on a bad streak those last three matches.

EDITS: Damn.  My replay of the black void is read as corrupted. >w<
