They're basically the same except Latias is slightly more defensive whereas Latios is more offensive.  The competitive scene considers Latios more of a threat at current, he's Uber with or without Soul Dew whereas Latias without Soul Dew is considered OU.

Then again, this is the same group of people who consider Wynaut to be Uber.

I've been wanting to see more of that since Contra. ::)

100% cleared the game today, 5 sparkly stars.  And I gotta say, to any who are worried about the game not being challenging, World 9-7 will hit you like a Piranha Plant to the testicles.

Propeller suits are ugly, fire/ice flowers are much better. All pretty and flowery and kinda making me question my masculinity.
Ugly, but useful.

It's no Hammer Suit or Blue Shell, this is true, but it works.

Yeah, um...  To most of the guys here that probably isn't much of a threat.  Or even unpleasant.  >.>

On Hard Mode, if you beat Chronoforce first-round with Model A, you can beat ANYONE with Model A.  No real argument there.

Just to demonstrate the personal preference shpiel, I use Buckfire against Bifrost.  Slow as hell but it gets the job done from a safe distance.

So, this wasn't your best night, happens to the best of us.  But yeah, my Yoshi busted some heads tonight.

I'd been waiting to show you some of my SUPER DRAGON POWER, Vix.  Last we tangled I was
using Bowser to show off a custom stage
and as expected got my butt kicked.

Final Destination replay is on the way to you and PB.  Short but sweet one there.

Wanda quit after you.  I left a Team Multi-Man open for a while but she didn't seem interested (no one ever is...).

Oh well.  Awesome matches, everyone!

Give me ten minutes, and I'll tell you if Mrs. Shell's movie isn't over.  If it is, I'll be online.

Chronoforce is definitely too abusable in Advent.  I mean, really, a time attack that affects all bosses, they had to have seen that coming.

I don't know that I agree with the whole "specific method to take down bosses" shpiel.  That's really more personal play style than anything, rarely is there any single "best" way to do things, due to the abundance of forms in ZXA.  Not counting Chronoforce, that is.  The main thing limiting you is the shared BME, and if you're stuck without it, you either go for Model A or ZX's saber combos, the latter of which arguably does more damage anyway (available weapon energy simply means chaining it to a charged buster).

Consider also the actual game progression in battling Pseudoroids in ZXA and how it interferes with various methods which come to mind under the argument.  When you meet Chronoforce, your selection is Model A, Buckfire, and possibly Rospark.  None of those are ideal.

And there's no boss who is weak to the Recoil Rod.  It doesn't help you to actually deal greater damage to any boss, the flinch effect is just handy for disruption.  Really, in Zero series you simply maul everything with the saber, be it combos or charged saber (1/4 a life bar from a single neutral-element charged attack is nothing to sneeze at in any situation).

Concidence or intended?
I'm pretty sure the six-to-twelve-wings-with-circle-behind shpiel is typical of "divine" characters in Japanese fiction.  See G-Gundam.

'man, plural: 'mans - Pokemon, derived from that "Let me show you" meme.

Barfos - Those SMB3/NSMBWii critters that hock up a spiked ball before throwing it at you.

Pogo-Stick Cyclops - Big Eye (MM1).  I refuse to dignify that monstrosity by using its proper name.

I would, but Mrs. Shell has the TV for a movie.  Doubt it'll be over for another hour at least. :|

You said it, Jelly.

Not like it's easy for me to say no to Rouge, either.  But still, there's no substitute for playing as a mass of reptilian plant tentacles twice the size of any poor schmuck in your way.  Any other 3D fighter, Power Stone included, becomes as Brawl without Mewtwo at that point: Sure, you damn well will love it, but it'll always be missing something.

On the other hand, there is nothing whatsoever in the league of Legends.  Trigger, Bonnes, Servbots, and large explosive special weapon arsenals?  You can't not make an awesome game with that.

3037
Perhaps when Smash Bros. allows Lou and I to fight over whom kills whom with a Mega Buster, I'd consider it superior to Power Stone.   8D
We ALL wanted that, remember?  Be sure to e-mail Capcom when Bitchslap is in development.

However, in the interest of an apples-and-apples discussion, I can tell you the one critical element that a 3D 4-player stamina fighter like Power Stone is missing:

FRIKKIN' BIOLLANTE!!!

3038
I thought we agreed to not
*** in our cereal
over that one?

I kinda consider 2D and 3D games to be apples and oranges (ask me to pick between Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles; can't do it).  However, I'll say this: any game that dares to compete with SUPER DRAGON POWER definitely has an uphill battle.

But Power Stone edges more towards traditional fighters than Smash due to the game being stamina-based, it just happens to allow 4-player fights.  If you can't star-KO your opponent into the distance, you're not competing with Smash.

Seriously pitting the Power Stone fanbase against the Legends 3 fanbase should be criminal. Each side is gonna cannibalize the hell out of the other just to get their game some spotlight.
Jelly speaks truth. :cookie:

In Z1 there was some matter of unpredictability to the weakness of bosses which had no apparent element, in particular Maha Ganeshariff, Anubis Necromancess, and Asura Bazura.  That never really happened again as every Zero/ZX game since adhered strictly to the element-triangle, leaving future neutral-element bosses with no weakness at all.

*gives PB ZEE UPPERCUT!!*

Traitorous dog, we'll see you beaten!

Yep, I'll be yelling my head off for L3 whenever they get their input-system-doo-dad ready.

And God-willing, it'll be on the Wii.  Legends (in fact most MegaMan games) use an anime-ish style and thus there's no reason the extra muscle, and development costs, of other systems is REALLY necessary.  On the other hand, the chance to point my namesake at a Reaverbot before blasting it into oblivion?  Can't deny the appeal there.

(of course, the fact that I don't OWN a hi-def console leaves me biased, but still)

ZX / Re: What's up with ZX3?

I thought Mega Man's gameplay was just choosing one of the eight levels, beat the boss and gain his weapon, use new weapon on another boss until you beaten all the bosses and move on to the fortress levels where after going through all that danger, you finally face off against Wily.
If you're going to object to modifying the Classic-series formula, at least use the original-original.  It's SIX Robot Masters, anything more is of the devil.

You know, as long as we're denouncing expansions and all.

Yeah but Classic had more robots to use like Gravity Man or Napalm Man, ZX still pretty much using the four guradians, Zero and X armors with Elementals. The Classic series had a wide variety of elements and powers to work with but we still get the elemental system from the Zero series where after awhile starts to ge pretty boring.
The elemental system isn't the same thing as weapon acquisition.  Every Pseudoroid in both ZX games gives you SOME ability.

The three-element system was really a half-assed way to apply weapon weaknesses despite the fact that Z1's weapons were not designed with boss weaknesses, or even boss acquisition for that matter, in mind.  For ZX, where later bosses expand existing forms, it works to some degree.  But for ZXA when you have 13 unique boss forms, the redundancy of the system really starts to shoot the game in the foot.

You know, looking over my latest batch of GBA-migrated Pokemon, I have to have caught the worst-IVed Latias ever (and it was on the Southern Island event, no less).  HP at 1, Attack at 7, and all four of the other stats at 0.

They really need to enforce some law-of-averages minimum limit with IVs.  If anyone ever had four 31's, you'd better believe everybody would be crying hacked.

Anyways, I think the HG/SS move tutors may have finally given me a way to fit Mewtwo into a Double Battle team.  I'm itching to experiment and see how it turns out.

I never bothered with Hint Movies and I honestly don't even know where the Star Coins menu is.  Couldn't find ANY conspicuous-looking spots on the map, so I internet-searched which World 8 stage has a secret exit.  From there, pretty much as Da Dood said.  It's easy to find if you're actually looking for it, but running through the stage you think it's some kind of spike ball scenery or something.

I have to say 8-7 was pretty awesome.
At first I was like "oh cool, rollercoaster-esque", and then near the end I was like "HOLY [tornado fang] DUAL TRACKS".
Took the words out of my mouth.  If there is one thing more awesome than a roller coaster over lava, it's a FRIKKIN DUAL TRACK BONE DRAGON ROLLER COASTER over lava. 8)

Wow, I let this go longer than I realized.  All should be updated now.

I have a Zerker code too! 4039-5633-2614
The list is organized by game version, not what choice you made when you turned it on.

'course, I don't actually own Star Force 2, so I don't know what the difference is beyond box art.

Phantasy Star Ø - Merki

I'm pretty bad with remembering upcoming stuff, but here's the big ones that I can recall right now:

-Metroid Other M
-Pokemon Soul Silver
-Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom
-various Ace Attorney stuff (Edgeworth, WiiWare ports, etc.)
-Super Mario Galaxy 2*
-whatever the hell next year's Rabbids title is

*Gotta say, I still fear Galaxy 2's execution of Yoshi.  Nintendo hasn't done a Yoshi platforming appearance without hiccups since SMW2 (although SM64DS was pretty kickass, lack of wings and inability to grab Bowser's tail without a hat hurt).  Considering what happened in Sunshine and in NSMBWii, I'll believe Yoshi's return to greatness when I see it.  But with or without him I'm sure Galaxy 2 will rock.

Rumble is simplistic but at the same time I like the fact that they're trying something new with the franchise.  Works a hell of a lot better than Mystery Dungeon IMHO, and for the lower price it's well worth it.  Plus it restores Mewtwo to an honorable position.  So yeah, I'll be picking that one up.  And you can thank the demo for solidifying my choice.  It is only a matter of time before countless masses of cannon-fodder face my DRAGONITE POWER!!! 8)

Of course, the World of Goo demo only furthered my bewilderment as to why that game is so highly rated.  I mean, it's good, but it's not game-of-the-year-over-Brawl good (screw you, IGN).  It's building in triangles, plus somebody was ingenious enough to program weight/balance physics, and wrap it up in a charming visual presentation.  Which is swell.  It's great.  But it's not THAT great.  WoG strikes me as more impact, that is proof-of-concepting the idea that a solid low-budget widely available commercial game can still work in today's word, than actual gameplay.  I think it's wonderful that it showcased such potential, mind you.  But I do not think that makes WoG the best game of last year, or even the best WiiWare game.  And for all the ranting and raving, you'd think they could have contrasted the "preview" lines a bit more so that they'd be easier to see.

Maybe it's just the fact that I'm not a hardcore puzzler.  I mean, I enjoy Tetris, Dr. Mario, and Puyo Puyo, but I'm generally not *AS* excited over them as the rest of the world seems to be.

Pilotwings (SNES) carries a lot of memories for me, and that bonus stage theme is bizarre and strangely charming.  So yeah, I'll be picking that one up.

The only one I'll probably get is the Super Mario Kart, because my copy was stolen along with my Mega Man Soccer long ago.
Oh man, does that blow.

Super Mario Kart...  Strange as it sounds I'm a little torn with that one.  Wonderful as it is, Super Circuit carries all of the old courses.  There is something to be said for the original original, just don't know if I feel like coughing up the extra eight bucks for it; not when 64, Double Dash, and Wii are all grabbing for my time already.
