Well, I've been over the AI, or lack thereof, before.  There's no telling how intelligent the Black Arms are, and G.U.N.'s commander has it in for Shadow regardless.  I just see it as Shadow following his own path regardless of what others think.  He wouldn't be the first character to defend somebody stupid enough to shoot at him.

Whenever knuckles opened his mouth... All I hear is Dan Green. I'm sorry, But All I get is CARD GAMES when Knuckles talks.
Ironically I think his card games voice sounds better than his Knuckles voice.

But I'd say the best job he nailed was Mewtwo.  "You should fear my powers most of all.  You cannot conquer me."

(even more impressive when you consider the near-X7-level of pointless monologue/self-doubt imposed by the script)

Party on, dude!

But I was one of the 0.0000000001 of people who cheered when they first saw Shadow with a gun.
Ironically my opinion of the game INCREASED when I played it.  I was ready to castrate Sega's entire personnel office when I saw Shadow with a gun.  It wasn't the complete disaster I thought it'd be, and I can see how it could have been even better.

So it's a MegaMan game with multiple Rocks, Ryu, and Arthur?

Yeah, need to know more.  Not happy that this is Picard-with-a-vengeance-HD-only, either, but what're you gonna do?  I foresee me deliberately visiting my brother when he's not home.

What the [tornado fang] did I just watch?

The last few seconds though...8D
My thoughts exactly.  I mean, the trailer's awesome, but I'd like to actually know something about the game.

Heh.  "The core experience fans want."  Well, that's what they said about MMPU, so we'll see.

Aw [tornado fang] though. Its only 360/PS3 Download?
Im not amused. :C
And this.  Seriously, Inafune is Picard.

Well, who knows, since the 3DS is said to actually outmuscle the Wii, maybe we can see it there?  Seriously, if I have to buy a new console for my next MegaMan game, I'm getting a new PC and looking for an RMO translation patch.  If worst comes to worst I suppose I could hijack my brother's 360 and get MMU for him (read: I'll play it about 1000 times for every 1 time he does).

I am excited, and I want to know more.  But I've been more excited, really.

just sayin's all.
Somewhat more serious response:

The original is basically a testament to limited NES palettes (see: Peach's hair) and unskilled dot work.  And the notion of the Varia doing anything but palette-swapping only came about due to the GB not being colorized.  Zero Mission, the remake of the original, leaves the Varia as an orange recolor while the "fully powered suit" grants the Varia's extra armor.

But I loved Shadow the Hedgehog! It was such an awesome game! :3
Superbat's gonna eat you alive.

I think Shadow is decent, but it could have been better.  Certainly no match for the Adventures, but it does have a few strong points.

As for the 4Kids VA's, I never minded Sonic or Shadow.  Actually liked Amy.  Tails and Knuckles are the ones I had a hard time getting used to.  And honestly, when I started getting used to Tails' 4Kids VA, it scared me.  I took it as a strong indicator that I needed to break out the SatAM DVDs.

All they did was remove his double jump.
I'm pretty sure the dash-jump lag was not part of MM&B.

His shots are also half-strength to compensate for Rock's standard play no longer involving charging, and 10 has no upgrade to compensate either for that or for his inability to shoot through walls (MM&B gave you options for what to improve).  He still rocks many socks, though, so long as you stay grounded.  ...and you don't mind that he's an obvious Rock edit.

Damn tough one here.  They both have great designs.  Burn Rooster provides the better fight, but Blizzard Wolfang provides the better weapon.

My X6 fandom has me leaning towards Wolfang, though.

Bravo for the image, Ben. 8)

I will make them play in High Definition!

Bottom line is, in ANY "player versus player" game of reasonable complexity (it's not even just fighting games; Pokemon gets this too), the meta-game will always be community-driven.  It's a matter of tactics; what works, what doesn't, how it depends on what type of opponent you're facing.  And a lot of it is what rule-book the community is abiding by.

I mean, seriously, you want to talk evolving the fighting genre to make it more accessible?  That's pretty much what Smash Bros. is.  And you STILL get the elitist schmucks who insist that the same character in the same stage while disabling half of the game's mechanics is the only way to play.  The elitist attitude will always be there.

Fighting games can, and should I believe, carry tutorials for how to perform your various programmed maneuvers.  But strategy isn't programmed, it evolves over time.  Furthermore, there is such a thing as overdoing it in the approachability department.  I royally BLOW at traditional fighting games and even I despise Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom's "simple" Wii Remote controls.  It's a crutch that encourages shallow play, and when you hear that coming from someone who can barely enter a Shoryuken-style command, you know it's bad.

I love bulk.  Seeing something move with agility in spite of bulk to me is much more amazing than watching something streamlined that you actually expect to move quickly.  I'd say it drives home the "wonders of technology" thing, but to be honest I've already caught myself in the same attitude with marine life; ie I enjoy orca whale stunts far more than dolphin stunts.

What bugs me about Ninja's Varia Suit isn't so much the line design as it is the color.  The basic Power Suit is yellow.  The Varia Suit is orange.  ORANGE, DAMN YOU.

Mission average wasn't until zero3...

Zero3 was merely the first game to DISPLAY your average.  Your average was always tracked by the game, and was always the basis for Rank.  It's the same method across all four games.

Godkarmachine looks a lot better in sprite work than he does in artwork, if you ask me (kinda the inverse of Blaze Heatnix).  Once you realize that red thing on his neck is actually his face, it's just creepy.

Heh, if that's the case then Zero 2's ranking system is more bullshit than anything else those babies can name in X6. Ever get graded a B for a score of 95? I did. On Poler Kamrous's stage. After that, I stopped caring over whether I got the EX skills or not.
It's because the Rank reflects your average across all missions, not the most recent.

You want to talk bullshit ranks, check out Mario Kart Wii.  B Grade for a freaking perfect score.

Really?  Wow.  Good thing I already kicked your ass all over Wi-fi, or I'd feel bad about now.

Mario's cape in general pisses me off, much less when he's giant-sized in the last Brawl event. O:<  So does ROB's Final Smash, and basically everything about Toon Link.

As I said earlier, I loved the G-Launcher in X7.  But otherwise, he's just a watered-down hovering X who stole Trigger's tumble-dodge.  X8 is where they actually tried making him unique, at least compared to X and Zero.

I heard Bass got hit quite hard with the nerf bat in 10...
Well, to be fair, Inti hit EVERYONE with the nerf bat in their NES revivals.  Rock is back to MM2 mechanics and ProtoMan takes double damage/knockback (plus jumping to block will just never feel natural).  Even without double-jumping and half-strength wall-blocked shots, Bass is still pretty awesome.  He just demonstrates how new-age mechanics don't always fit seamlessly into old-age level/enemy/screen proportions.  That and I wish Inti didn't insist on adding a delay between dash and dash-jumping.  Never in any previous MegaMan title was such a lag enforced, and it screwed me up more than once.

The entire Zero series is [acid burst] easy unless you fear the almighty wrath of Rank.

1. Leganchor (Megaman ZX)
Hey, we needed SOMEBODY to be Screw Halberd bait!
And yeah, I happen to love Leganchor's design, too.  If you want to talk ugly giant ice bosses, I'd start with Bifrost.  At least with Leganchor, no matter how easy he is, you do have to actually move.

High Link sounds awesome, though if it's local-only, I may not be able to do much with it.  Unless I get my neighbor's kid a generous gift, anyway.

The C Gear has features for Wi-Fi, local wireless, and infrared.

...

With the DS's infrared signal, you can have speedy battles with up to four players and speedy trades directly from your party or PC box. You can also automatically exchange friend codes over infrared now.

Neither the DS nor the DSi have infrared links, although one can include an infrared link in the cartridge itself as was done with HG/SS.  I also believe there was an infrared port on the E3 3DS models, but I'm not sure if "hybrid" 3DS carts are possible or not.

Infrared depends on line of sight, though, so I don't see how "up to four players" would work under such circumstances.

Ace Attorney anime is too damn awesome to ever be true.

There's also a lot of obvious region-mixing in that image.  U.S. logos with Japanese character names, and all.

It's not a good coma ending unless EVERYTHING is a dream while in a coma 8D
Well, I'd just like it if when he woke up, Misty was there instead of his mother.

I'd also rather not write Mewtwo's stories out of continuity if it can be helped.  'cuz Mewtwo is awesome.  Hell, make him the means by which Ash gets out of whatever acid trip he's on, and we go full-circle.

I might offer Tornado Tonion a chance if he didn't have such weird jokes.

Yeah, much as I like whirlwinds, I'll go the gravity route this time.

2123
Well, those are nightmares then.
What I meant was that there are plenty of opportunities besides ep1 for comas.

2124
Did someone say something about aging in Pokemon?
Awesome pics, man.  Though Clair makes me appreciate censorship for the sake of TV audiences (why does the Dragon gym leader have to be such a [sonic slicer], anyway?).  Brock with a goat looks cool, and you can't argue with HG/SS hair Misty.

And remember, the anime series is just Ash in a coma dreaming up all that.
He's been in that coma ever since Pikachu first shocked him in ep1.
That would explain so much.

Well, wait, he grew a LITTLE since the first ep (God willing he still remembers not to use a Caterpie against a Pidgey).  And it's not as if Ash doesn't receive enough punishment over the course of the series; in addition to all the shocks and flamethrowers to the face, he also died twice within the scope of the Indigo League.

2125
The only thing I can say to this is what else do you expect from a character that stays 10 forever?
Touche.

It's interesting how that flies in the face of various points of the Indigo and even Johto arcs, even though in terms of character-depiction, yes that is obviously what they're going for (sure, we take it in The Simpsons, but that show isn't meant to make sense).  At least two years should have passed by Spell Of The Unown (1 year between Viridian City Visits, and the Pikachu short being Ash celebrating the anniversary of their meeting), and if you take Gary's mention of Pokemon Leagues meeting once per year into consideration, Ash ought to be very nearly old enough to drive by now.

The fact that they're so stubbornly against the concept of passage of time simply means that Ash is fairly compared to Red's early days.  Ash is no worse a character than Red, he's simply denied Red's growth on the grounds of status quo.
