Muramasa: The Demon Blade.

Holy SH*#!, does this game kick ass (was one of those gift ideas that nobody actually used, so I finally bought it for myself).  They're pretty darn conservative about level estimates for the enemy lairs, though.  The game recommends Level 9 or above to face 100 armed monks, and they left me hurting at Level 21. o-O

I don't see how one can say for sure if the same method will apply, especially since Cappy doesn't seem too enthused yet about releasing it elsewhere.  I say we can jump off that bridge when we come to it; dunno if anyone else feels differently, though.

You are correct sir. The exact time of the World of Capcom panel is 12:15PM, so you might want to get there early, cause sometimes lines do tend to form. Odds are, since they've essentially announced a trailer there, that it will definitely be packed, so try are get there early to line up.
How early?  'cuz World of Capcom is already running into an earlier event that perked my interest, but naturally L3 takes priority.

I'm going to take this opportunity to point out how disappointed I am the Rockman fan-community right now.  I went to the DASH forums and saw more complaints about DASH 3.  ITS DASH3!!!
You're not alone, man. -AC

Um excuse me, I'm curious, why are you angry at a community that LOVES and ADORES the DASH series, when the complaints came from one single person, not the site as a whole? O.o
Probably because that single person bitched about as loud as the entire rest of the community has thus far celebrated.  But then, having no trailer, gameplay, or music to speak of and only a single piece of artwork, I can kinda see how there isn't much to talk about beyond the basic fan-gasming.  For me, though, the day it was announced it took all my restraint to not simply spam all manners of positive expression known to man. 8)

Personally, I wouldn't have minded seeing how Legends would control on the Wii.  But the 3DS happens to kick incredible ass, and Kid Icarus ALONE already secured its purchase for me, so I'm not complaining.

IIRC all PS3's support PS1 compatibility, it's just a pain to find one with PS2 compatibility.

However, finding PS1 Legends/Misadventures discs can get pretty expensive, so you may prefer to look for PC game downloads that are more reasonably priced.

Thursday to Saturday? Hmm... maybe I can make it, but I doubt it however I should give it a try.

It would be my first time going to a Comic Con, but I won't be cosplaying anybody.
Oct. 8-10 is Friday to Sunday.  Quick search of events revealed an MvC3 specific panel on Friday, and World of Capcom 2010 And Beyond on Sunday (I assume that's where one wants to go for L3 info).

I've tentatively drafted my brother into making the trip on Sunday (I HATE big-city driving, and he likes New York).  First time for both of us.  No plans to cosplay, but for me a gaming t-shirt is a must.

Makes sense.  I thought I noticed a "gunblade" aspect to one or two of them.

1806
You know, though you do have the best of the lot (Geetz), there's plenty of other awesome L2 boss themes.  Bola, the pirate train (however the hell you spell its name), and the Gustaff top my list.

Oh, that.  Well, I doubt it's a "gun".  It's more likely a "blaster". -AC

Then I'll offer a refresher:

You MIGHT have better luck with Xtreme1, since Dash can be assigned to Select, but Xtreme1 is far inferior to Xtreme2.  And the leg upgrade in that game will make you auto-dash during wall-kicking anyway.

If you want a single-button dash in Xtreme2, the only, albeit simple, solution is: Jump.

@pb: "Watching a 3D TV can reportedly cause “an epileptic seizure or stroke,” and the following symptoms should be watched out for, “(1) altered vision; (2) lightheadedness; (3) dizziness; (4) involuntary movements such as eye or muscle twitching; (5) confusion; (6) nausea; (7) loss of awareness; (8) convulsions; (9) cramps; and/or (10) disorientation.”

Then there is the “motion sickness, perceptual after effects, disorientation, eye strain, and decreased postural stability,” and possible “damage [to] your eyesight.”
"
Yep. 3d tv. Worth it. So very very worth it despite all of this.  O:<
You, sir, are as paranoid as Sheldon Cooper.  The exact same thing is said of ordinary video games due to light sensitivity conditions.  The 3DS will not burn away anyone's retina.  It will irritate a small minority of people in the same manner that small screens period, and video games period, do.  This isn't even exclusive to electronics; some people can tolerate reading in a car, and others cannot.  Whether you have previously demonstrated sensitivity to one particular light/motion condition doesn't say how sensitive you will be to another.  Common sense mandates that for the sake of one's health, one must pay attention to their body's own signs regarding individual tolerances.

That is why the 3D can be turned off (well, that and it forbids over-the-shoulder viewing, I guess).

The SOLE reason to buy a new console is because it is more powerful and replaces the preceding one for all newer game releases. Gimmicks like touch screen and 3D are just additional selling points. So why can't people just want the 3DS because it's a more powerful DS that will be having all new games on it?
This.  You know why I bought a DS?  Because it had [tornado fang]ing SUPER MARIO 64 WITH YOSHI IN IT.  That's it.  I did not give a rat's ass that it had two screens.  The touch screen was neither the savior nor death of gaming.  It was just some nifty extra.

The 3D has me intrigued.  But if ViewMaster gaming makes me nauseous, and I have to shut it off, then even in 2D it'll still be a new, powerful Nintendo handheld with a kickass game selection.

I wanted 3DS because of Kid Icarus (and so many other games)! Legends 3 made me love the 3DS even more than before~ <3
Same.  Watching the trailer again now. 8)

I'll make you a deal. If they release Xtreme2 on it, and I can map my controls, I will play it!  8)
Unlikely to satisfy you, as unless you are air-dashing, Xtreme2 lacks a single-button dash command.  Therefore, you can never dash-wall-kick even with button mapping.  I thought we were already over this in discussing emulation on other systems?

1811
I'd prefer a physical button, but it's certainly possible.

Maybe fully-customizable controls will be an option? :D
One hopes.  L2 certainly had a wide variety of options, so if Capcom knows what they're doing then I'm sure L3 will provide the same.

1812
One thing I liked about Legends was that the default "tank" controls made it easy to keep the camera where you want it to be.  Options permitting I tend to assign strafing to the D-Pad in other PS/2 games (read: Armored Core) for that reason.

Personally, I'd use A for lock-on (though leaving it as the "action" button when out of battle) and Select for Jet Skates.  Seeings how the Skates are more of a mode change than a hair-trigger action, there's no reason they need to occupy a face button.

But PSP controls will do fine, if it comes to that.

Different region, anyway. It's its own thing in a larger world.
:cookie:
That's what I was getting at earlier.  There's not a lot in any one region of Pokemon that can deny the existence of another region.

Quick!  Get him a Max Revive!

You know, I'm a little torn over 3D pop-up Mario Land.  It's awesome and all, but I don't know if I can forsake my HI I'M DAISY hack...

If they get Xtreme2 on there, though....  Just try and stop me! >BD

Pit frequently changes weapons.  Recall, Palutena's Bow was highlighted in the first trailer, so I'm assuming that'll be a particularly powerful one, but not necessarily something he starts with.

I don't particularly care about the color scheme of X's armors, but I do like this new one.  Has kind of a "space-age" feel to it.

The only one of X's armors that I actually disliked, appearance-wise, was Neutral.  It's just too obvious that they made it to cover lazy development, especially that face plate.

I'm reading this as ZX with Copy Chips instead of Biometals.  But maybe it's just their way of justifying multiples of our iconic characters?  Fine and dandy.  But I'm wondering by what logic they feel the need to copy the Navigators.  Not complaining, I will never complain about more Iris.  Just wondering.

Dunno how I feel about all characters having armor upgrades.  Zero's is nifty, but it's no Absolute Zero.  And Duo's...well, I prefer the original.

Liking that tricked out CutMan.

And I'm surprised nobody mentioned this:

We'd already know Iris from the trailer, but Colonel as well?  I'm certainly curious.  Maybe Zero won't be the only sword-wielding player? (seriously, no way will the Player selection stop at those three; the internet would explode in rage if Rock, ProtoMan, and Bass weren't playable after that trailer)

Bank robbery music!

WHEN WE GET BACK, I'M GOING TO HAVE TO PUNISH ALL OF YOU!!!
:o O^O ;O;

Seriously, we need some way to choose our favorites out of that list.  When a good one plays, it makes me want to stop browsing so I can keep listening to it.  XD

hah, all this legends talk reminds me of that one Legends fan game with Zero in it. Reploid Legacy I think it was? (And by I *THINK*- Hypershell?) I loved that game. Pity it was just a "demo" of sorts.
*raises hand*
Yeah, that was me.  Fun memories.  I still brainstorm from time to time on that, I just suffer from a sorryass inability to actually write.

Also, I have mixed feelings about fueling crossovers.  They're fun to toy with, but then people go suggesting that the "real" games should be that way, and to be honest, I cringe at the thought.

Sure, die hard Megaman fans will buy it at first, but in general the masses will not bother. It's going to be the same story as to what happened with Megaman Maverick Hunter X. Unless this game is so great that it will put all other Capcom games to shame.
You know, as a die-hard MegaMan fan I can tell you that, as extraordinarily rocking as the PSP titles sounded, I was a bit disappointed when I (finally) got to actually play them.  Powered Up has the camera zoomed in WAY, WAY too close, and MHX sliced the Spiral Charge's strength in half, so I wind up preferring the original games in both cases (unless I want to play as one of the alternate characters, anyway).  Neither are particularly strong visually, as well.

There's less leeway for remakes, I think, in that if you don't nail EVERYTHING as good as the original, you put the two in direct competition.  There's little doubt that Inafune will put his full weight behind L3 as well (some recent MegaMan efforts come off as half-assed, especially visually), so that'll surely help.

How about cellphones! Everyone has a cellphone!

Yeah now that's a good idea! They should make a Legends for cellphones. No doubt that it would sell like hotcakes. HOW come Capcom hasn't MADE this yet?
Oh, 5 Island Adventure, we hardly knew ye...

Yes, yes they are. 8)  I see no possible way to not love those visuals.

Medusa definitely looks darker/more sinister than before, too..

1820
I suppose there's way too much awesome Legends music to choose from, but I personally would go with the Kattelox Library theme.

1821
The GB/GBA Virtual Console is the best part.
IGN is currently posting that GBA games on the 3DS VC was a translation error.  Nobody said they won't, mind you, but nobody said they would either.

The moment I saw "Sorry to keep you waiting!" Kid Icarus, it was already my favorite!! <3 <3
Damn straight! 8)

Man, I love living in NYC!  8)
Damn you...

I may have to try and talk my brother into a Comic Con trip this year.  I don't normally like traveling, but IT'S MOTHER [tornado fang]ing LEGENDS 3 ON 3DS!!!  Can I truly stand to forsake it simply because it's one state over?!

1823
[tornado fang] YEAH!!!

Had to get that out. I dreamed like crazy, but never thought it'd actually happen...

Well no one owns a 3DS, Kudos.

So we're all in that boat right now.
Kinda nice, if you think about it.  By announcing it before the system is out, they're not really shafting any one camp in favor of another.  Great for me, too, since I damn well knew I was getting a 3DS as soon as possible anyway. 8)

1824
I hope there's SOME truth to that, because you're getting into "PB head-exploding ideas that are too awesome to happen" ideas there.

Well, time to start praying...

X / Re: Why hasn't technology caught up to X?
« on: September 29, 2010, 12:26:37 AM »
Personally, I believe that works the other way around as well.  I don't think the failure of pre-ZX Reploid technology is so much the inability to create a Reploid emotionally on par with X as it is the inability to combine that trait with his strength in combat.  Colonel and Iris are the result of a failed attempt to merge the mentalities of a warrior and a peace-lover, which is pretty much what X is.  Also, in Z4, when Zero speaks of it not being a Reploid's place to change the world, he refers specifically to "Reploids designed for war".
