Gaming / Re: "Tales of" Series

Sadly, I only really see the Tales of Graces coming to the U.S. Vs. wouldn't be too bad and Vesperia would be great for PS3 owners, assuming they can get it out here before Final Fantasy XIII... and not a few days before it either. They released Tales of the Abyss really close to Final Fantasy XII and got steamrolled here.

I think they did that battle chip idea before with EXE 4.5 and the wave card thing later on.

Both flopped. I don't think it's a good idea to have people by extra items to play a video game, as then you're entering that dark pool called Trading Card Game syndrome, where the people who can invest more money into the game will be the ones largely winning, while alienating others who may not be so dedicated or have the disposable income to match more dedicated folks.

It's pretty much the same as it is now in Star Force and Battle Network, only now you're factoring in actual money.

Gaming / Re: Will there ever be a action replay DSi?
« on: June 21, 2009, 07:47:55 PM »
Will it exist? Most likely. Datel's probably already cooking one up. Will it be susceptible to being blocked by firmware updates, like the Wii's freeloader was? Definitely.

But let's not forget; the Wii's freeloader being continually blocked really bolstered the Wii's homebrew scene. Should the DSi gain a strong enough following, it'll only be a matter of time until it has a homebrew channel of its own, and likely its own hacking tool similar to AR, like how Wii has Ocarina.

...[tornado fang].

Well... so long as there's a ZX3 festering away somewhere in IntiCreates, I don't mind too much. I'm interested in seeing how this will work. Will there be a battle system with actual strategy again or will it be a clobber the living crap out of your opponent with the strongest cards you can get your grubby mitts on?

I'll calmly wait to see if an English version comes out. Namco of America has a pretty bad track record on the series so far, as they're quite a bunch of morons when they could instead be muscling into Final Fantasy's market.

It'll be hard for me to break tradition, as I've had a stun deck of some sort since Battle Network 3. The one exception was Battle Network 5, but mostly because of rampant card abuse to have a really souped up Bass Cross MegaMan.

So, any particular viruses in their giant form or just any old giant virus getting leveled? Is there a guide out that's not from a certain elitist website explaining this?

Flipping through the menus, it's good to see not much is going to meet the chopping block on Star Force 3. A few little fun things in the Meteor Server:

Lyra Note (as opposed to Harp Note)
Adic Ace (Lazy Typo)
Shooting Star Rockman (Mega Man) (lol)

Looks like the website team aren't quite linking up from the game and are instead following from translations of the Japanese stuff... unless a few people got renamed... namely Harp Note. Hey, it couldn't be the first time a character was inexplicably renamed (AquaMan.EXE > SpoutMan.EXE)

A question to the RNR3 owners here about those form changes. Obviously you get a default form. How do you get the color change forms and how many of them can you store? I'm looking at some pretty sick combinations of Gemini with Corvus or Wolf.

884
It looks like the new area in the video is called, "Shinto Iseki"... I don't know what Shinto translates to (if anything... God, maybe? Some with better moonrune knowledge help me here. :P) but the latter is obviously Ruins.

885
I'll probably have Arceus or Mew with me. But I'll definitely have a Magikarp leading at some point.

886
Wonder how this will affect Pokemon like Linoone, whose only use is to pick up things.

Top 10 List of Pokemon to Have Following You Around

I'm still debating between which version to side with. I'm leaning toward Gold as that's what I had before, similar to why I picked Leaf Green over Fire Red. However, I liked Lugia's Aeroblast much more than Ho-Oh's sacred fire, though that may be negligible due to their moves being readjusted in the generation jump between GSC and RSE.

Love that no one complained when they did it to Yakuza 2...

In this instance, I think it's better kept in Japanese. It'll fit the game's already overly Japanese style more. English would likely come off as a little jarring.

yes i know that , but capcom has been feeding starforce too much  >^<

You'll be happy to know this is apparently the last game of the series. Demand's been dying pretty badly on the series.

891
Best advice is to play in parties. The game can get dull really fast alone...

but this is almost universal for MMOs.

892
They won't remake the tertiary releases. The idea is that they incorporate was was already laid out as groundwork from Yellow and Crystal, removing some of the more useless items and gimmicks (or save them for later in certain cases) and then they work in the new additions from the current generation.

893
Wonder if we could trade over a Groudon or Kyogre from RSE to substitute trading, in case someone doesn't have it.

I was laughing so hard at that skit. It's great that they were using Spanish the whole way through with almost no subtitles.

896
You know, I've never had the problem of not finding enough medals, for some reason. I always had enough to get to the next level. They weren't too hard to find, aside from maybe two or three well hidden ones. Most are in places you'd expect them to be: alternate paths, right on the route but in an area not so well visible. I always did one run where I explored the day level slowly for them. When I found them all, I'd restart and do a full speed run, usually to the tune of an A or an S Rank, as it helped to see what was coming in the level.

897
Well, let's not be too hasty here, though the usual anti-Sega bias has already flown out. This was only just announced for cellphones. If there were enough demand to get this shot to another portable, such as DS, it's certainly not impossible. The game already loosely resembles a Sonic Rush title. In theory, it shouldn't be overly difficult to move to a portable. However, the name may cause a few problems... perhaps a subtitle?

People really need to take off the Sonic Next glasses and stop expecting some ridiculous expectation about what a Sonic game should be. It's getting irritating now because even when something with quality like Unleashed 360/PS3 comes out which is dose of goodness the franchise sorely needed on consoles, people complain it's still not good enough. I'm convinced most Sonic fans are retards and don't know what the hell they want anymore.

898
The sad part is? It's already better than the 3D games.
Pretty shallow reasoning just because it's only 2D. It's a shame it's stuck to such a lame platform like cellphones. A DS version with music from the console games would be pretty nice, though.

It was explained earlier in the topic in a spoiler box. The name is tied to something that is revealed in the ending.

Does ANYONE know why it's called Three-Five-Eight Over Two Days? I mean, if it isn't Three-hundred Fifty Eight Over Two Days, then why the hell is the name supposed to be read for each individual number? That's pretty much my biggest gripe with the DS game...

My gripe with the PSP is the fact that the story I want to know about and the story I care about is on the PSP, which I lost some time ago ><
Then just call it Kingdom Hearts DS. It's not like people will suddenly not know what you're talking about.
