Gaming / Re: Sonic Returns In New 2D, HD Game
« on: September 09, 2009, 06:10:37 AM »
Honestly, if this is a true return to Genesis-style Sonic gameplay, I will go out and buy a [chameleon sting]ing 360. I'll get the money somehow and do it. I've been waiting years for Sonic to return to true 2D, sidescrolling gameplay on a console for years. This will be a dream [tornado fang]ing come true! If Sonic Team messes this one up... Let's just say they won't be able to ever fully clean up the mess I make in the Sega offices.

Download torrent.
Run torrent.
Copy IP list.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED
I was talking about ISP tracing. Like I said, however, those IPs aren't always real. One of my friends has a fake Chinese IP and no matter what tracing technique people try, he always shows up somewhere in China. This IP is even displayed in his torrents.

What Harruhy and PB said really is what it comes down to. They can say I was downloading Mass Effect--despite that I own it--or Chicken's Revenge III: Into the Deep Fryer and it would weight the same. Despite one being completely made up, it doesn't change anything. They literally can't prove anything.

Torrents are typically undetected on the ISP end because the parts are usually being downloaded are usually too small to be noticed. I'm not saying it's impossible to trace a torrent because it isn't, but to be able to trace a single torrent can be hard just on the ISP-side.

And if they say I was downloading this file off a website, I'll just laugh--mostly because you can't file share off a website. Well, you can, if you were the one who uploaded it.

My ISP got an email complaining about us uploading some Harry Potter GBA game. Not sure how, 'cause I know I didn't do it, my brother hates everything related to Harry Potter, and I don't think my parents know what emulation is.

There's just something about HP I guess.
Half the problem with all of this IP tracking to illegal file sharing is that most of the time people are intentionally displaying false IPs. So innocent people get these calls, emails, and letters in the mail, and most of the time they don't even know what they're being accused of. Most people don't even know what a torrent is.

I don't know if that's how it works.. usually downloading like that blips under the radar. Plus the paranoid seem to get nervous easier and quicker.. Must've been that or a "prank".
I dunno... If it was something I actually downloaded illegally--if I did such things, yes--then I would be more scared than being falsely accused. That just makes me angry.

Maybe, if they are paranoid enough enough to think that you are using file sharing... maybe.
So they make up something random someone could be downloading, if they suspect someone is participating in illegal file sharing?

You doubt it? Are you even sure it really was the telephone company?
Not really, honestly. Like I said, it was my parents who answered the phone, not me. I'm going to call there tomorrow morning to make sure. If it was them, they're going to get a call they won't forget, though.

Prank call maybe?
Prank callers? Are there prank callers that do this?
Yeah, must be them.. or  maybe some REALLY paranoid workers.. What program were you using?
None. Like I said, I never downloaded or shared the book or the movie.

Today while I was at school, my parents got a call from our telephone company saying that we were illegally file sharing Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. We were ordered to cease this immediately. Problem is that I've never downloaded or shared this book or movie. If they were talking about the book, I own it, so why would I download it illegally? If they were talking about the movie, while I thought about buying it, I've never thought about downloading it. Harry Potter, to me personally, is one of those sacred things that I won't smudge with illegal downloading. I guess this is why I feel so insulted about it.

Entertainment / Beavis and Butthead Sequel
« on: September 08, 2009, 01:43:50 PM »
Mike Judge enticed his audience by releasing a
video of Beavis and Butthead promoting his new film Extract
. After which, he shared ideas of a new movie that would possibly feature the duo as older men--probably still haven't scored. With King of the Hill over, could we be looking at Mike Judge returning to his roots and bring Beavis and Butthead to a new generation?

Here's my new wishlist. I've become a little iffy about the dual-core GPUs (4850X2, 4870X2, and 295 GTX) and decided to go with a single-core. Now, the reason why I picked the 285 GTX is because when they're in triple-SLI, they're the best GPU system on the market. I'm starting off with two because I can't afford to buy three at once. I'll buy another one some other time.

I changed my mind back to the 4870 X2, except I'll just go with one--to avoid the mess with the crappy CrossFireX drivers.

After thinking about it, I decided that it might be better for me to wait a few more months before building my new desktop. Mainly because there's going to be a lot of new releases in hardware soon and it's better to wait a while before buying them. At release, hardware typically has poor drivers, which means slow performance on something that should be fast. Plus, it'll give Windows 7 a little time to mature before I buy it. Not only that, but Office 2010 will be out by then.

Instead, I've been thinking of buying a lappy-chan. So far, the Asus G Series G71Gx-A1 NoteBook has given me the best deal. Plus, it's from Asus, which is a company known for its quality. It's just under $2,400 after two-year and extended warranty and shipping.

I do agree racism is a big problem in the United States, and I think it is stopping us from finally putting all this bullshit about slavery and whatnot behind us and get with the [tornado fang]ing 21st century already. Thank you for bitching about your lot in life, black people, and the government coming to run to your aid since it would be "racist" if they didn't and then you can continue your goddamn tirade on the "white supremacy" keeping you down.
Let me tell you a secret:
It's your own damn fault. Not the honkey's. YOURS.

And I don't aim this at any black people on this forum. You guys have good heads on your shoulders.
Kay I'm done with ranting.
That's a bit naive. It's true that slavery is over and that nobody living is responsible for it. It is time we all got over it. It happened; it was bad; however, it's over. No one living was ever a slave [in the United States]. No one living ever owned a slave [in the United States]. Racism is a real thing and it still exists. But we can't say that reverse-racism doesn't exist either. They both do.

It's been proven that people with "white-sounding" names on job applications are more likely to get a call-back. Men are more likely to get hired than women. All these things are real. They're happening now. Bias about sex and skin color--how dumb they might be--are still important to a lot of people in the US. I agree, however, that one of the major reasons why race continues to be an issue is because black people put so much emphasis on it. Hell, they made a holiday about it.

I, myself, have been a victim of reverse-racism. At one time, I worked at a grocery store as a cashier. One night, I waved a woman over to my cash register. All I was thinking about was how glad I was she came along. I had been standing there for like ten minutes bored out of my mind.

I started scanning her groceries and then she said, "Now, I'm not calling you racist, but I saw how you looked at me."

I stopped scanning and it took a few seconds for me to process what she had just said. Finally, I looked right at her and said, "Excuse me?"

"The way you looked at me. You looked at me a weird way because I'm black."

I was stunned. I didn't know what to say. The fact she was black never crossed my mind. When I was at my job I was focused on doing it and I didn't really care who I got. Most of the time I didn't even pay attention to what they looked like. All I could manage to say was that she was mistaken. I have honestly never been so insulted in my life. Still, to this day, nothing has topped that.

It was my first personal experience with racism--and my only one--and I never want to experience it again. This woman claimed I was racist just because I looked at her. This, in fact, makes her racist because she thinks that anyone who happens to be white and looks at her is racist. I still don't understand this. Even now, writing this post, I can't come to a proper conclusion...

Well that's what he said.

Where does that come from? :\

Oh, and BTW, did I mention the Muslim kid was the captain of the Robotics team his senior year? 8D

where near the end of the year, he came out with.

"Oh, haha... Apparently, Robotics is against my religion."

to which me and Ginger laughed, as how the hell does he not KNOW that, and how the hell is it his parents only just found out.

but thats for another topic.

so yeah, Oilman.

Game makers can't make an ambiguous black shape with a face without being called racist; however, gangsta rap can directly call all black people gun-toting, gangster thugs that hate the government and nobody thinks it's racist. Where's the justice here? Just because something is done by a black person doesn't mean it isn't racist against black people. Gangsta rap has got to be one of the most racist things of the last ten years and people have the gaul to call it progressive for the black community.

If the Moja is racist, then black comedy is flat-out offensive--since it's all about how racist black people are. That's right, it's mainly about how racist black people are, not white people. This mentality that everything black people make can't be racist needs to change. And all this over-sensitivity about stupid things like Moja needs to end.
