Rockman Series / "Base" or "Bass"?
« on: April 23, 2009, 02:11:22 AM »
Someone brought this up on a different forum, and it's been itching at my head. Is Forte's English name pronounced "base" or "bass"? I always thought it was more of a joke in-of-itself since Bass is both a fish and something dealing with music when pronounced 'base' to go along with Treble.

You go around killing babies with a flaming crossbow. That's all there is, just killing babies with a flaming crossbow. It would be epic.

Yes. :)

Gaming / Glitches you've found
« on: April 22, 2009, 03:08:58 AM »
Haven't seen a topic like this in a while, plus with the epic discovery of an awesome glitch in God Hand, I figured what the hell. Post whatever glitches you yourself have found and share it with the world.

On God Hand, during stage 7 there's a fight with an old foe you punched and kicked the loving crap out of earlier. When he dies (again), he drops a chest and for me it turned out to be gold bars (which are worth 3000 gold). Well, the special battle sequence you go into ended before I could get it, but the gold bars remained. I got them and then died and saw that they were still there. The best part is, it's in front of an instant death trap (that's possible to get out of if you react quick enough, hence me living through it the first time), and I'm positioned so that I can literally just run into it, get 3000 gold, die, and repeat.

I'll personally snipe Fils-Aime in the head if this gets axed from the line up. Wii's pretty [parasitic bomb] right now and it needs something like this in 2009.

Bet you E3's going to be another rodeo of crap.

Of course E3's gonna be crap. The last good one was in '05 I believe, since I think '06 wasn't as impressive, but still good, then it just snowballed to just plain ol' crap.

I don't see what reason Reggie has to possibly keep this game from coming to the states. Odin Sphere received rave reviews, and the same studio that made Odin Sphere is making this. If he truly wants to make the Wii a system for everyone, he has to make sure that games of all kinds show up on the Wii. Support for this game is pretty big, and a lot of people are looking forward to it, so it's pretty much a no brainer that it will sell well.

So he's a cop-out for Solo to have a Wizard?

Eh, I guess it could be worse.

Stop complaining, make the effort to find the extra software/hardware to get these things (BNEXE: Card e-Reader(+), appropriate e-Reader cards, extra GBA if neccessary, AR; SSR/SF: JP-region Wii, US Download Station, AR)

Right, because all that stuff is readily available or announced. I didn't know that there were hidden cards/chips until BN5, and that was because the guide book I had actually mentioned them. Not to mention there's hardly anything said about obtaining the actual hidden cards for SF1 OR 2 in a legit manner. There WAS some sort of download station, but god knows by the time people found out, it was too late. Capcom isn't like Nintendo in that they announce this stuff well ahead of time, nor are the hidden cards THAT epic to warrant a trip to wherever the hell it is or if they're even participating in it. Pokemon's almost guaranteed to have it's events take place because of how freakin' popular it is. Not every place is going to carry the stuff for Star Force. As for using AR, that's just a moot point since you can't say "I have an official and legit copy". Sometime's the codes are hard as hell to find in the first place, I think only the KingGranduer and LeMu card codes are only on a few forum posts on a different website. If not now, it was back then, but enough time to have passed to warrant a "What the hell is taking them so long?!" for the codes.

What else has XSeed made/put their name on? They sound hella-familiar but I can't remember where I've heard them.

All of them. At the same time. That's what Scramble Battle should have been.

Speaking of which, that was canceled, correct?

What the hell were they smoking when they canceled it? There's no licensing issues to deal with, a pre-made battle system that would easily be exploitable and usable (pick Smash or Jump Stars, either were great multiplayer fighting games), and a [parasitic bomb]-ton of characters to choose from. Pick like 2 from each series that are of different 'types' to avoid conflicting ones (like if they added Fire man, they shouldn't add Heat Man or Flame Man, and so on), or at least not have like a crap ton of the same (I wouldn't mind Fire Man, Flame Mammoth, or HeatMan.EXE, or even Taurus Flame ALL being in there, it's at least a character from each series). Heck, they could just have the fan favorites as fighters, and everyone else as support characters. Jump Stars did that, and they even pulled it off in Marvel VS Capcom 1, and both times it was awesome.

Gaming / Re: Rockman to be added to Brawl by hacking?!
« on: April 17, 2009, 03:55:07 AM »
Unused data found in Brawl is generally not salvageable (the "beta block" for Stage Builder being a notable exception).  What they're finding is not so much actual content but rather references to it.  So, looking at it, they can see that at some point Mewtwo was in there with a versus screen and a sound clip or two.  But none of that's actually in there, it's just part of some list.  So they can't actually rip it, much less use it.

Believe me, I would religiously stash, view, and daydream over any Brawl Mewtwo content/images/sound clips if it were out there.  And yeah, the recolored Lucarios are revolting.

I thought that folders containing bits and pieces of data for Roy and Mewtwo were found while rummaging through Brawl, which hinted that they were going to be included, but dropped before too long.

That's not an explanation? >.>

Not for the punchline, and if it is, it's not a very good explanation.

Insane crazy immaturity does seem to win a lot of internets lately.
Twisted comedy that wins millions of hearts.
It's called no-brain humor and everyone on youtube seem to like it.
It's the next big hit on internets. Stupidity on internet is, like, so popular.

tl;dr... ooooooh, THAT Fred... >U<

Oh, don't forget shows like [Bumpity-Boom!].

I'd make some sort of witty remark about some other stupid thing, but the fact that I'd be comparing it to Fred would make it look like a shiny golden god amongst the best of the best.

I'll admit, if the videos were down to about 30 seconds or something, it'd be funnier, but it's the knowing fact that it drags on for more than 3 minutes and is essentially the same thing over and over and over kills it in so many different ways. It's an ongoing punch-line that forgot to get it's entrance and doesn't want to leave, and instead stays on stage and prevents the other jokes from going on.

That's what I want to know. He's somehow gotten all this stuff from talking with a high-pitched squeal for 3-5 minutes in every freakin' video on YouTube for who knows how long. I can't stand watching him for long enough to actually get a good idea as to what the hell he's about.

Could you at least link one of his videos so that we know who the hell you're talking about?

It'd at least give us to resent him if he is as horrible as your described.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymXOLL3rVts&amp;feature=channel_page" target="_blank" class="aeva_link bbc_link new_win">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymXOLL3rVts&amp;feature=channel_page</a>

He doesn't seem to keep videos up for more than a year for whatever reason, so anything possible explanation as to what the [tornado fang] is going on can't be found in the first 'episode'.

Again for the record, I'm just wanting to know just why the hell people consider him funny. I personally find him to be completely moronic, but others who could explain this may change my opinion about it.

(and in unrelated news, this is post 404 :D)

One thing I've kinda wanted to know, how does Alienware computers stand out? They're supposed to be insanely powerful gaming PCs, but exactly how sturdy are they, among other things?

Right censor word or not, who the [tornado fang] is Fred? I'm talking about the ADHD inflicted moron with a high-pitched squeal and some how has over a million subscribers and even got an appearance on a freakin' TV show (granted it was on Nickelodeon, it's still a tv show). WHY is this guy so freakin' popular to a point where he got on a TV show, and even selling t-shirts with his 'name' on it? Just WHAT is it about this guy that people love? I can't stand listening to him for a freakin' minute because it's so freaking annoying and stupid. Is there some kind of twist in each video? Some deep meaning with a since of profound wisdom near the end that's hinted merely subtly and upon realizing it, is equal to obtaining nirvana? Or is the internet becoming stupider (and remember, the current level of stupidity on the internet is the base level, thus meaning that the level is the norm) and people somehow find this guy funny? I know the phrase "to each his own" and that some people may find him funny while others don't, but this is really just pushing the envelope.

Don't know if this would count as a necro-post but oh well, not like this part of the forum is bursting with topics <.<

What's up with Laplace in SF3? What role does he serve and why? Does he increase the power of Solo's Wave Change, is he a Wizard left over from Mu and was conveniently found right before the events? Or are we expected to not ask questions?

My only complaint with the Star Force series, and the battle network ones as well, is the Pokemon-route of hidden cards/chips. Annoying else find it really annoying that there's some sort of hidden, super power card/chip and you have to go to an event in order to get it, and because the series isn't as popular as Pokemon, the events are pretty much just limited to Japan until hell and forever passes by for CoA to do something about it in the US?

O.o how do you put these reskins on the characters in the first place? *prays that I don't need the homebrew channel, but more than likely will*

I never did get around to modding mine, since I'm too freakin' afraid, so I'll just get another one somehow and mod that one <.<

Regardless of your stance between HP and Dell, just don't touch Toshiba. Those things will LITERALLY start falling apart within a year, and it only gets worse (first it was my screen, then some screws came loose, then some more until finally you could almost split the thing's bottom off, and then even beyond THAT the hard drive died out).

So far, my Dell's working just fine, and quite honestly I'm somewhat glad I have Vista on here. Last time I had a massive problem on XP, I had to reformat the whole thing; Vista sent it back right before the problem happened and allowed me to avert it. As for the machine itself, it IS kind of delicate. A misplaced fury smash and the thing needs to be sent back in.

*inserts two cents*
