I wanna change my name to Captain Smack-Pigeon, but I don't have any artistic skills to draw, so until I can get some free art handed my way, can I be called Prinny or Pringer X?

Original / Re: Mega Man 9's secret?
« on: May 14, 2009, 02:47:25 AM »
week old bump

I'm not sure as to all of the secrets that have been discovered just yet (a post in the link on the front page makes a mention of a good chunk), but I figured why not take a different route. Does the release date of the game in Japan/America on the Wii/PS3/360 have something to do with a character in game? If Dr. Wily's swiss account is the release date of MM1, couldn't something like that happen in reverse, like the release date be the month and day one of the characters was born? Someone also mentioned something about the music in the game and how some of them sound like others. As I thought about this, Splash Woman's stage has some parts that sound like part of the theme of Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers, and Capcom just happens to be the company that made the Rescue Rangers game. What if the secret is more of a reference to a previous Capcom work? I mean, MMX 1 and 2 have moves from Street Fighter, MM7 has some references to Ghosts 'n Goblins, and Legends 2 has a few references like where you can see a MMX comic and a 'show' of the Classic series.

(removed topic I made due to someone pointing this thread out ><)

Speaking of Rabbids merchandise, they should've so used their partnership with Reanult to create the RABBIDMOBILE 8)

Old-school Adam West Bat Man music playing with screams instead of punches XD

I kind of don't get why everyone's going "ZOMG GS REMAKES!!!!111lol1!". I mean, sure, we may actually be able to legally obtain Celebi, but at this point, I don't think a lot of people care. I'd only be hyped if they're remaking it once the 5th gen comes up, and they put 5th gen Pokemon in it. THAT seems worth it.

As far as getting Pokemon goes, in some way, shape, or form, you can now catch or get them without the use of a GS remake, and thanks to WFC, if you need a particular Pokemon, just ask and get it. I can see a use for getting TM's that are somewhat rare or hard to find or something, but there's already a cloning glitch out there, and WFC again trumps the point since you can just ask for a particular TM.

If they remake GS and put 5th gen Pokemon in it, as well as increase the relative map size to include Hoenn and/or Sinnoh, and allow Celebi to be caught, I wouldn't mind and in some ways be excited (I stopped playing Pokemon awhile ago, so that's kind of a shocker). It would have even more things to do than before, and it would be pretty fun.

Off The Wall / Re: Well said... Well said.

Its hard to say what I want to say without sounding ignorant or completely unknowing about the subject since any time I brought up a point, I realized it wasn't true entirely. Basically, it seems as if in some ways, we're moving forward in a negative light while moving backward in a positive light. Shows of yesteryear wouldn't get the same rating as they do now and shows of today are more childish and friendly than before (even if it is a kids show, look at Tiny Toons, Animaniacs, and a whole slew of older kids shows, like Batman). Back then, the way things were done, it hooked in kids AND adults. It seems as if people want to live in some kind of soft, cushy pillow land and don't want violence or real life knocking on their door and abhor violence at the slightest bit if it's not done in the way of something like Spongebob Square Pants. How many monkey punch jokes or gags have you seen on today's cartoons? Yet at the same time, it seems as if language or sexual themes are starting to slip in more. This isn't in today's shows, but rather today's society. I remember there was some ruckus about Halloween costumes seeming to sexual on little girls or something because of the way they looked. Then there's the fact that it seems as if women of today have the idea that more of your body is shown, the better you'll be in the public image.

It's almost as if society is juggling the same issue in two different ways and no one has any idea as to how to handle it. The place we live in today (as far as the US is considered since I can't say the same thing about other countries) seems to be so spread out on ideas and what is appropriate and what's not. We'll block sexual messages on kids shows, but allow sexual messages to be displayed all over public places; we'll block out violence and language on kids shows, but not care if those kids go and play something like Call of Duty or Halo or GTA or Manhunt.

The US censors certain things, and yet contradictorily display it else where in the public. It's like a sign that says that one group is voting yes AND no on a particular subject; just what the hell does that mean?

the part where the black lady is putting clothes on a clothesline in front of a white house.
also, lol wow.

I assume you're talking about when the occurrence of the 'n' word pops up, right?

I raised the volume up and it says "Friendly neighbors". I repeated that part several times, trying to pin point it, but unless it was way in the background, I didn't hear it.

I never got a reply to the last quote.
lol 4shits.
also, notice that they basically didnt answer a single thing.

Of course they don't, they care about money and avoiding lawsuits, and companies are masters of "Saying anything but meaning nothing".

Is it right near the end, within like the very last second? That's the only occurrence I heard something inaudible and in the background (or am I deaf and it was right in the middle or something?)

The games are so emotional... and that's also very early on too, not just at the end.

I ended up breaking the rule the ad for M1, I cried before I beat the game. The song's are just too beautiful!

The entire series has an excellent music score, but to be honest, I think M3 had the best. A variety of battle themes was major win compared to the small handful the other two had.

I pray that with the inclusion of Xaiomu and Reiji left in there, that may give Namco-Bandai some incentive to release Namco X Capcom, and just split the profits 50/50. I'm still pissed I haven't found a way to get a modded PS2 or emulator to play the damn game ><

Gaming / MOTHER's Day
« on: May 03, 2009, 02:15:41 AM »
Ok, with Mother's day coming up in a week, I figured I'd get a jump on it with a different kind of Mother: the game series.

I propose on MOTHER's Day, anyone who can go and play Mother/Earthbound Zero, Mother 2/Earthbound, or Mother 3. I myself will be playing Mother/EB0 since I've already beaten the other two.

Also, what's your favorite game amongst those three? Why? Are you excited about the possibilities of a Mother 4 being released (JUST the possibilities in the future)? What about the look-a-like called "Another World" that's going to appear on Level5's new product (I don't know what it is exactly, but the M/EB look-a-like is going to be on the product, not the games on the other systems).

I just have to question how they can consider this a series reboot. Seriously, how do you reboot a series that's only one game long, and isn't THAT old (yes it was a Wii launch title and the Wii's about 2-3 years old now, but considering how news of this broke out a year or so ago, you really can't say it's a reboot; that's like saying MGS4 is a reboot of the MGS series when the last game prior to 4 was released just a couple years prior).

Unless they mean that they rebooted the entire thing and started over from scratch, then I can see that being plausible.

So is what caused the first generation of Mavericks different from what caused the Mavericks after Zero's awakening? Wasn't the virus inside Zero mutated when it came into contact with Sigma in some way, shape or form?

Still, why would anyone expect a second analog stick of what basicaly is the DSi of the PSP?

I think it'd probably be to make it even and allow better controls in some games. I haven't played too many PSP games, but it seems like some of them could use better camera controls rather than relying on the D-Pad.

I never understood the big deal about a second analog stick.

A lot of camera problems could be solved with a second analog stick devoted to controlling the camera, and in some cases, help out with some control issues (the Ape Escape game could have been more like the PS1 version if there was a second analog stick to control the direction. Plus, it just feels right with a game to have a some what symmetrical design. A D-Pad on one side, buttons on the other, and two analog sticks on either side as well (for me at least).

Stupid question, but is this an upgraded PSP or is this to the PSP what the DS is to the GBA and so on?

I got a tingly feeling all over when I read that :D This looks to be pretty good, especially if they said they're going to fix up what made Red Steel bad to play.

Though, I can't help but feel as to question why they're calling this game Red Steel 2 when it really doesn't LOOK like a sequel, but more like an entirely original game. Though, I guess they could just call their series of games involving swords and guns on the Wii "Red Steel" in a fashion similar to Square's Final Fantasy games.

518
Hah! Awesome!

Too bad Capcom/Platinum Games isn't making this game. I could SO see a God Hand-clone starring Mr. T.  8D

Jesus christ, the only way to make that idea even more epic is if you had Vin Diesel, Chuck Norris, and Jesus in there and they did some kind of giant-robot-combination thing O.o

I got another one:

You play as a ninja who doesn't blend into his territory whatsoever and instead shouts things out to completely demolish the idea of staying hidden.

Oh wait, it's already been done. They called it Naruto or something.

Don't worry, I'm just at the bottom of the barrel, this is pretty much the worst I'll be ever in life.

Though admittedly, the other side isn't much better XD Honestly, I don't know WHY I'm so psychotic today <.<

can you not do something like that in Postal? or just something close?

But Postal has other things, not just slamming a fiery arrow through an infant's skull with a crossbow. This game has nothing but that.

Rockman Series / Re: "Base" or "Bass"?
« on: April 23, 2009, 02:18:57 AM »
Is this for real? It's Bass like "base".

A couple people were pretty adamant about it being "bass" like the fish, and then my childhood memories came up again when I thought it was pronounced like the fish until someone corrected my child-aged self (I don't know how old I was when I played MM7). Plus I remembered MM8 and I couldn't help but wonder if they just royally flaked up the name pronunciation or what.

Besides, with this, it pretty much becomes definitive to remove any trace of doubt a fan may have.

This is my Rockman Cannon.

I got nothing. It had to do with a break-dancing competition, but that picture was just too good XD
