Yeah, the Amish don't have anything to do with our laws. Our liquor laws are just archaic. However, some communities are changing them; Wegman's, for example, sells liquor. Some Giant stores have a wine kiosk, which is a glorified vending machine. My local Giant store actually sells beer, but it's part of an eatery section, and they have obtained a restaurant license to do so. The mega Sheetz in Altoona sells beer, but again, they obtained a restaurant license to do so. Times they are a-changin'... Slowly, but surely, Pennsylvania is catching up to the rest of the country.
Hah, I forgot that Pennsylvania had a city called Altoona for a moment.
I live in a city named Altoona with much more lax liquor laws than the neighboring city, those laws being its legal to sell it till Midnight.
Then again, this is the Midwest.
