I could be a therapist!
Therapists do not prescribe pills. Counselors and therapists lack doctorates and are not licensed medical doctors. They can suggest seeing a psychiatrist, but they themselves cannot prescribe medication.
Psychiatrists prescribe medication, as they are licensed medical doctors. Some psychiatrists can provide the services of a psychologist, but most do not. Some even have particularly bad bedside manner. But, their job is to prescribe medication. Visits with a psychiatrist usually last about fifteen minutes.
I've tried the blog route before. It wasn't enough. I needed interaction with someone who could teach me new and better coping skills. Blogs are fine for getting out frustrations, but they rarely lend to one-on-one discussion and advice. And it's not as if the psychologist will spread all of your secrets around, as they are bound by oath to maintain confidentiality.
You don't have such assurance with a blog. A text box cannot take the place of a person who is equipped to help you with life's irritating bits.
Sometimes it's a good idea to have someone to talk to.
I really think if you told this to a psychologist they would say your parents are mostly at fault for this emotional state for just bitching at you for everything and tearing you apart.
Yeah and she sees us as...inferior when is comes to our love of anime, if that's correct term to describe her attitude. It's like the smallest little thing she'll debate about or be surprised we don't know about it. I mean I know my [parasitic bomb] about Pokemon and know more about video games than most people, but not to that obsessive level.
The first meeting she showed up she criticized the Ex-Librarian for having a shonen or ecchi heavy recommendation list for that week as well as a lack of shojo titles when she hasn't seen the other lists he recommended in the past. Not to mention insisting for an extended period of time that the full Hare Hare Yukai video had multiple singers even though everyone else, for once, knew for a fact that only Aya Hirano is the one singing.
To make a long story short, she's an unbearable otaku "elitist".
Look on Facebook to see a girl in anime club arguing about how posters from should spell anime "anime" and not "animes". She's actually making the guy in anime club that everyone hates actually tolerable.
