Gaming / Animal Crossing Thread.

I didn't see a thread for this (Besides one for City Folk that never got any replies and was made in 2008), if there is somebody let me know and I'll lock this one.

Anyway, Animal Crossing New Leaf just released in the US this past Sunday, so I figured that we could have a thread for it.

The game is basically the same as all previous Animal Crossings, except you get to be the Mayor of the town you create! As Mayor you're able to set Ordinances or start Public Works Projects to build new shops or decorations for your town. The rest is pretty similar to the classic games, and as before you're able to visit friends towns and all the other fun Animal Crossing stuff.

Anyway, my town is called Mist Mt., and my Character is a female named Clefant.



Just starting out of course, I've unlocked the Garden Shop, the first upgrade to the General Store (T&T Mart), the Shoe Store, and the QR Reader. I'm about 20,000 bells away from paying off my house loan and my Town has Apples.

Hopefully some more people will join in and we can start visiting each-others towns. That's really the best way to enjoy the game after all. And I want to litter pitfalls everywhere, that's fun too.

So I guess Megaman 6 is coming up on the 3DS eShop this Week.

And Megaman 2, 3 and 4 showed up on the Wii U VC, so yeah.

Instead we got 4 more Game Gear games. Sonic 1, Dr.Robotniks Puyo Puyo, Columns, and Shining Force.

Sonic 1 is the most expensive and Dr.RMBM is far cheaper.

Now now not every FPS looks gray and gritty.

Serious Sam is pretty colorful (for an FPS) and its more along the lines of a 90s FPS game, no reloading [parasitic bomb].

You play one *Insert big name franchise that has yearly releases here* you've played them all.

Very bland and safe, and these games still only barely make back their budget and are "Failures" because of how much money they flood into them.

My dad still has all the CoD games he's been given for christmas and such.

He likes them enough and plays them pretty casually but I don't know why he doesn't trade in the ones he doesn't play anymore.

But yeah, there's no point in keeping the last years model when the current year's model has MOCAP DOGS.

Is no one worried that The Villager might be a little "cheap" to play as?

Watch the Developer Direct, and Sakurai states how he'll be able to grab any projectile/blast attack and send it back to his opponent.

So unless you use characters that excel at close-range combat, it seems Villager will always have the advantage against folks like Mega Man, Samus or any one else that specializes in projectile/blast attacks.

Only the skilled types will be able to do that effectively.

Its like with Toad on Peach, I can't imagine the CPU ever effectively using Villager. So no problems on my end.

I firmly believe that this Smash should not be about removing or replacing characters and should instead be about bolstering series numbers and making every cast member as unique and well realized as possible.

So long as clone characters are made more unique or different. Hell speaking of Clones bring back Dr. Mario as a Skin of Mario, that would be great.
