It's stuff like this that makes me ponder, "did these critics who give [insert a game that looks more like a movie here] a 9/10 or 5/5 Stars because it's actually good, or were they paid handsomely to cover up the fact that it's crap?"

All I know is that its considered better than AC3 but on the other hand its yet another annual AC game.

But yeah its pretty known that some game reviewers are paid off to give good reviews. Lots of reviews of the Xbone being 0.1 points higher than a PS4 review yet the PS4 review is more positive. Games Journalism is a joke for the most part.

I don't let the cat into my room anymore so she's not gotten on my shelves in a while.

She's tiny though so she doesn't do that much, still don't want her up there.

Figure shelf I take it.

I have multiple "Forbidden shelves".

My cat doesn't get up on them anymore because she's banned from my room but my parents will often put stuff there to my aggravation.

e:f;b

Anyway yeah, shelfdiving sucks ass. I've got most of my figures posed in ways that they won't take fatal dives but [parasitic bomb] happens sometimes.

Also Youtube is doing stupid [parasitic bomb] again.

Both!

Well that's understandable.

Really the only good thing that comes out of Ubisoft lately is Rayman.

And I have neither iOS or Android...

Oh well, not a big loss. I do wish Microsoft would allow Sonic Dash on their mobile store, though. It looks kind of interesting.

Get Bluestacks and you can play Android games on your PC.

Sonic Dash is awful, btw. Its just an endless runner with microtransactions.

Here's a video of Hidden Palace, its just one act and doesn't use Sound Test 10, instead using Mystic Cave 2P like the Beta.

Hold on, I'll quote the important stuff.

Quote
Will the community manager be skewing things the way they would personally like to see the game? Will the community manager ignore views that don’t match with their own personal ideals? Will the community manager lose the community’s desires due to unfamiliarity with the type of game we are making? Will the community manager be creating their own robots and levels and programming, or changing the game in any way, from what the core creative team wants?! A lot of these or similar questions have been raised.

The good news is that the answer, in all cases, is no.

The job of the community manager is to act as a conduit between the community and the team – basically help keep the team filled in on what all of you are talking about, and help keep all of you filled in on what’s going on with the team internally. A community manager who filtered this process to further any personal agenda would not, by definition, be a community manager! :) and the fact that they were doing so would be immediately obvious to the team, who is plugged into the community in more ways than one.

When it comes to feedback, a Community Manager needs to be detached and impartial, and rest assured, Dina is and will be (in fact, one of the first bits of feedback she passed along were the concerns some had about how she would work in her new role, which is why I’m posting this here, today. :)

As far as affecting the game in other ways, rest assured all direction and decisions are still in the hands of all the same people they have been from the start. Everyone should know that choosing a community manager is not something the team took lightly -- all the key players at Comcept were involved in the selection and hiring process, all the way up to and including Inafune himself. We are supremely confident we made a great choice, as we think you will all agree as you get to know Dina and see her work.

If Call is unlockable in the main campaign I hope she's mainly a melee character because I always prefer using a prodominately melee character as opposed to a prodominately long-range character.

For some reason I'm basically the same way even though long range has its merits.

Anyway, Crisis Averted.

We can all go home now.

Gaming / Re: "Tales of" Series
« on: December 12, 2013, 06:27:00 PM »
So the newest tales game was finally announced.

Quote
Namco Bandai has announced Tales of Zestiria for PlayStation 3.

The game is the 20th anniversary title in the Tales series.

The “Zest” in the title represents passion and enthusiasm, according to series producer Hideo Baba. A dragon is used in the logo as a symbol of the game’s story.

Since it’s a spoiler whether the dragon will bring destruction or become an ally, those details weren’t revealed. But it’s important enough to be in the logo.

The title features character design by Mutsumi Inomata, Kosuke Fujishima, Daigo Okumura, and Minoru Iwamoto. Animation is being handled by Ufotable.

Two characters have been revealed.

Slay (voiced by Ryouhei Kimura) – Designed by Koskuke Fujishima. Quotes: “I want to explore the ruins all throughout the world.” “Of course it’s the mural of the monk hoisting the holy sword.”

Alicia (voiced by Ai Kayano) – Designed by Daigo Okumura. Quotes: “I want to try, to see my home town rid of uncleanliness.” “You’re… not going to ask my name?”

The game is set in the continent of Glynnwood, where two powerful nations, the Highland Kingdom and Laurence Empire, both for supremacy. These countries have given birth to different faiths and diverse cultures, and have achieved great advancements in civilization. However, there is a strange common factor between them. The faith in the mysterious existence known as “Family of Heaven” has permeated Glynnwood. The Family of Heaven is invisible and untouchable, but it’s said that they have the supernatural power to influence the world. The people respect, fear, avoid, and worship this Family of Heaven.

The battle system is said to be an evolution of the Linear Motion Battle system. Unfortunately, further details were not announced.

Last night, Namco Bandai announced Tales of Zestiria, the next games in the Tales of RPG series for PlayStation 3. Although the game has no release date yet, Namco Bandai do have plans to release Tales of Zestiria worldwide.

“Over the past few years the Tales of team has taken great strides to strengthen our relationship with players across North America and Europe,” said Tales of series producer Hideo Baba in a press release this morning. “To respond to their love and support I am honored to open a new chapter of the Tales of series together with Japanese and overseas fans.”

With a name like Zestiria I kind of expected it to be in a world made of spices, Wonder Chef better come back. But hey PS3 and a worldwide release, that's cool.

Hope they don't change the Battle System too much.

Wow, I'm always hoping for female mains, for both new and old games (yes female Link I've been wanting for a long time x3)  I'm not sure what's wrong with that.

I've said before that I always prefer to play as a female if the option exists (For example, Pokemon), but in some cases I really get why there's not a female character playable in every case because of stuff like legacy or story or whatnot (Of course there are exceptions to the rule like P3P where you have the option of playing as a girl instead, but in the end that was basically non-canon fan-service.)

Like Tron said, wish-fulfillment.

That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if Call ends up as a fully playable character as like an unlockable or something.

My car won't start! And I can't get the hood open to actually fix it either because the damn thing is frozen shut. So now I have to be absent for work because I can't possibly get there on foot.

Figured I'd bump this.

Sonic 2's iOS port got the Taxman update today, bringing it in line with Sonic 1. As with that game the new features include save files and more likely than not a plethora of debug things, but the most interesting addition is a fully-implemented Hidden Palace Zone (Complete with an original boss) and redone special stages (by redone I mean rendered in 3D as opposed to the way they originally worked.)

Android version is coming out later today.

I'm just gonna post this here since nobody reads the toonami thread anyway.

I thought they had some reason they couldn't air this. But hey it must ve coming to take the place of Star Wars since that is truly worthless filler. But hey they're keeping orange jumpsuit guy chronicles and starting it over for no goddamned reason.

Haha holy [tornado fang] I don't know if its because there are so many cheats activated or what but for some reason everybody in P3 that isn't the main character has some severe problem where they can't stop running in place if they're following me, and when they're in Tartarus they all converge into themselves and run back and forth constantly.

Its hilarious.

So yeah now P3 is far more bearable since I'm using my PC to play it instead of the PS3.

It seems to run a little slow but otherwise I can play it in HD, frameskip to speed stuff up, and cheat and stuff to speed things along.

Oh so Monad is available in the second run regardless if I unlocked it before.

Too bad I'm not strong enough to kill any enemies in it to get my levels up.

Oh great, now that the end of the world is coming nobody wants to [tornado fang]ing social link anymore.

Thanks Fuuka, you made your own link reverse by being chronically unavailable, I would've had it done by now if it weren't for all the "You feel your relationship could become stronger soon..." bullshit.

[tornado fang] it, i'll get the bad ending and just do a NG+ from there. Of course I won't be able to go to Monad so that'll drag on forever anyway. [tornado fang] these arbitrary things that happen, the Job Experience thing and Summer School were clearly just Atlus yanking time that could've been used for Social links away just because they felt they needed to make the schedule as tightly knit as possible. So glad Persona 4 did away with all that bullshit.

My computer had a brain aneurysm or something and disconnected my External drive for like a second and went and re-assigned it a different letter.

I really wish it would stop [tornado fang]ing doing that, everytime it gets shifted from J it gives J to a nonexistant 'Local Disk' and I have to reboot just to get J back.

Hahaha, All fall to the mighty thor now, no shadows can even withstand the power.

If she's a designer that means she could potentially [tornado fang] with the game and stuff right?

If that's the case hopefully they don't give her too much free reign, that would be disastrous.

But yeah, not really jelling with this girl's way radical opinions on stuff.

2947
I haven't been following the comments page that often so I don't really understand, but why is everyone so opposed to her?

I'm sort of looking and it appears she just has really skewed political opinions, but yeah I haven't seen any of her comments at all.

Also the acronym SJW is getting thrown around a lot, I don't really know what that means.

Where are you located?  Parts of northeastern Virginia will see some snow, and a large area from around there to Delaware will get the bulk of it.

Wisconsin.

I just say that the snow will find its way to me because the last time you said snow was coming snow showed up here too.

Snow will begin at 4 am, and we're to get an additional four inches.

I can only imagine this will find its way to me as well.
