Phew. Just got through Wind Fortress with a 4 1/2 Minute time, I don't know how they expect 2:00. I simply can't play that skillfully.

Guess what? There's more than one idiot on PRC blindly defending the port!

(click to show/hide)

I'm sorry if it looks like I'm trying to start a proxy argument, but I think that second quote perfectly captures the "be grateful for getting shafted or you're a whiny self-entitled prick" mentality that's come up recently. Nobody's allowed to be angry AT ALL, for ANY REASON, and it's just as frustrating as Capcom's empty promises and blatant contradictions.

My only comfort would be that Sven wouldn't call us self-entitled over this...but knowing that he was recently a dick to the MM fans on more than one occasion, it's only a matter of time.

So, the "Someone else" was saying Sonic CD was a prime example of a port/remake/whatever done right, correct?

Of course they are, because that is an example of a remake/port/whatever done right, that was Sega being cool with its fans, allowing a fan to remake their game with an engine that he developed, and essentially just providing the materials necessary, in the end we got an amazing remake.

Now, look at this piece of [parasitic bomb]. Capcom decided to do what Sega could've done with Sonic CD, just gave it a shitty port that actually makes the game worse, buffing the graphics and nothing more, making a barely playable monstrosity because they didn't want to do anything that requires effort.

Look at MMX: Corrupted, even though its a fangame, it appears to already look and feel like a Megaman X game, hell, I haven't been following it recently but from what I did see its more of a Megaman X game than this shitty port is, and its not like it was made in some proprietary engine like the Retro Engine for Sonic CD, no, its just Flash (Am I correct on this? Please correct me if I'm wrong, I don't think I know all the facts.). The gameplay in the Port looks choppy, the screen is way too zoomed in, there are CUT TO BLACK SCREEN TRANSITIONS, SOMETHING NO MEGAMAN GAME HAS EVER HAD, Other than X and Zero getting slightly modified graphics the rest is just put through a shitty filter, Megaman is too large and the screen is too small.

Y'know, I'm beginning to think Capcom should just do what Sega did and Commission JKB to handle remakes of their games, since they apparently can't do it themselves.

10328
Wow. This looks like a Flash Game, a bad one.

You think Capcom would want to make a decent effort, but its obvious they don't care anymore, Mixing MMX designs with MHX Mugshots, lovely. Text is some boring font that is very amateur looking, Lifebar looks like [parasitic bomb], lazy asses can just buy their way to winning, thats great.

They just don't care. Its sad to see Capcom doing so little to try and bring their mascot out of relative obscurity.

Fate Stay/Night

So after I do the prologue I have to go through the same three days again with Shirou? At least now the prologue makes more sense.

Its not bad so far.

KARR is the prototype of KITT, who basically lacked an important feature of KITTs... the directive to protect human life.
He appeared twice, and in the episode where my gif is from, he was voiced by Peter Cullen (voice of OPTIMUS PRIME). It was also his first appearance.
The [tornado fang]er was quite evil, and he had only "self-preservation" on his mind.

Oh, I see. I could've sworn the name KARR was used in a Parody of Knight Rider, don't remember what it was from though.

Yeah, I was planning on getting to that once I finished up with Madoka.

I'm mainly going off of stuff that shows up on /a/ frequently, so apologies if this is kind of a [parasitic bomb] list. Hell if I forget about K-ON again i'm probably going to drop it.

Going back into MSG, if there are any real good Gundam Series/OVA's that I am missing from my list please recommend them to me so I can add them into the lineup.

Other than that my current standings for my other shows that I am currently watching:

K-ON! (1/24)
Madoka (3/12)
Oreimo (6/15)

I should probably look into making a MAL.

No matter what people say, for the life of me, I cannot find a difference in taste between them at all.

Same here, my parents like to believe that Pepsi is nasty and tastes flat but Coke is somehow better.

I think they both taste identical, and delicious.

Just finished Steins;Gate.

Don't take it lightly when I say THIS IS THE GREATEST ANIME IN EXISTENCE!!!  *o* *o* *o* *o*

Disclaimer: I haven't watched Baccano nor Cowboy Bebop yet.  -_-

Protip: cut down on the emotes.
Also you may think its the greatest, its a matter of opinion, I personally haven't gotten to it yet.

Finally catching up on Madoka, I'm going for 3 episodes a day, so tomorrow I'll be halfway through it.

10336
I'm not sure what's the big deal here. I think the choices are all fine and dandy.

I never complained about the choice of games, I've only been bitching about the blatant laziness put into this emulator. I feel that while it was nice for them to include Amazing Mirror it loses out on the Multiplayer, which is arguably a major part of the game.

10337
I guess I'm in no position to complain then seeing as I got my 3DS for $170 at Walmart right before the official price drop.

Half assed prototype emulators for games you most likely already own; Sure makes up for ripping you off with the inflated original price of the console.

At least you understand what I am frustrated at, minus the price.

Nintendo should probably put out an updated emulator when they release the NES games to everybody (Which we all assumed was going to be done really quickly, how wrong we were.), one that includes a [tornado fang]ing multiplayer solution seeing as three of the games have multiplayer functions that are simply wasted here (Amazing Mirror is the worst offender seeing as the whole concept was built for [tornado fang]ing Multiplayer.) there is no excuse for this, they had plenty of time to make a decent GBA emulator, something I'm even more frustrated at seeing as they MADE the GBA, yet VBA is much better than their Emulator on account of actually being able to do multiplayer by having it work online, it has save-states which Nintendo neglected to provide, AND the screen doesn't look washed out.

Maybe they needed more time, maybe they didn't have a team exclusively dedicated to developing the GBA emulator, maybe they forgot about it, panicked when they realized the end of the year was coming up, and threw this together as not to [acid burst] off the people who were promised end of the year. If they had come out and said "we could release them at the end of the year but we would like to apologize and ask that you wait till our GBA Emulator meets our quality standards, as we feel that it is incomplete and rushed." THEN, maybe people would understand, Nintendo would earn more respect points from their fans for not rushing [parasitic bomb] out for Christmas and continuing to take time to focus on the quality rather than trying to make a quick buck.

Or maybe people wouldn't understand, seeing as they had four months to develop it some people would never forgive Nintendo for going back on their promise of end of the year. I don't really [tornado fang]ing know.

10338
The GBA games are up in the US.
Apparently they don't come with Restore points, just like the NES Games.

EDIT: NINTENDO, I AM DISSAPOINT. I like how you made the GBA games have the GBA Boot noise when you go over them, but why couldn't you do what you did for the GB/GBC titles and make a little GBA Model to go around the screen? Its just like the NES Virtual Console games except smaller and purple. [/nitpick]

EDIT 2: Okay, after some beautiful re-arrangement of my 3DS Screens (I was given 4 extra pages to put crap so I naturally jammed the worthless junk at the very end.) I booted up Kirby and the Amazing Mirror to see how the GBA Emulator was like.

Its sort of like booting a GBA game in a normal DS or booting a Normal DS game in a 3DS. As in:

-No Virtual Console Menu, the bottom screen is completely black, at the beginning of the game there is a notification there stating that closing the console won't put the game in Sleep Mode, again, like a normal DS running a GBA game.
-Pressing the Home Button will ask you if you want to quit out instead of just loading the Home Menu (Like when playing a DS or DSiWare game.)
-No Restore Points, but this was to be expected seeing as they didn't give us restore points for the NES games either.

This time, unlike the bullshit they did with the NES games instruction Manuals, they gave us full manuals describing everything. This is good especially for people like me who have never played Fire Emblem, as that seems like the kind of game you would need to learn how to play.

One thing I cannot understand though is the screen, its noticably dark. Its not bright and vivid looking as most Emulators tend to capture the image, however this may just be Nintendo emulating the Screen darkness of the GBA. I don't really know.

All in all, this is just [tornado fang]ing pathetic. Its obvious that they either still had the GBA components in the 3DS and were able to use those to save them time in making an emulator, OR they went the really lazy route and just made an emulator that booted in DS Mode because they figured that since only Ambassadors are getting the games that they can slack off in making a decent emulator.

Oh well, free games. I just wish Nintendo put more effort into the presentation, seeing as they, oh I don't know, sat on this for almost half of the year. :|

Just beat the iOS version of Sonic CD today, feels good. Decided to grind out the time attack. Metallic Madness 2 was pissing me off, but I made it through with a time of 2:14.23, currently I'm at the top of the leaderboard for time.

Granted the game just came out, but DAMN. It feels good. (And its been beaten by some guy who somehow beat the level in 30 Seconds. Is that even possible?)

I love the amount of effort that went into this, the JP Soundtrack uses the unused Loop Points from the 510 Beta to loop most of its songs. The US version either has brand new loops or extended loops using the Sonic Boom versions. They retained the Lightning effect in Stardust Speedway Bad Future from the JP version, along with the music changing to Bad Future when you race Metal Sonic. Everything is just [tornado fang]ing great. Sega should seriously consider using this engine to remake some of the other 2D Games in the series.

Hm, the days have been passing by rather briskly.

10341
Minish Cap's new to me as well, so that'll be damn sweet.  And one can never have enough portable Yoshi's Island.

I guess if I *REALLY* wanted to nitpick, I could say that it stinks that I only made it a point to get the GBA Fire Emblem games last summer (D'OH!), but I certainly won't object to Nintendo giving FE some more exposure (STILL waiting for Heroes of Light and Shadow...).   And in all honesty I find GP Legend and Zero Mission to be preferrable to Maximum Velocity and Fusion.

But that's REALLY, REALLY nitpicking.  The list is extraordinarily rocking in any context, let alone as free [parasitic bomb].  And it's effectively 11 games seeings how all Super Mario Advance titles include the Mario Bros. remake, which is equally awesome.

They probably didn't want to give us Zero Mission on account of the fact that its pretty similar to the original Metroid.
And probably also because it has the original Metroid and they don't want to give us the same game twice, thank you Nintendo.

Well, my sleep pattern is all off. So days have been rather short for me.
The Job Hunt never ceases, currently I have applications in at the local movie theaters and the Grocery Store, hopefully I get a job soon, I don't want to have to apply for obscure jobs just so I can receive unemployment checks to keep myself afloat. I also don't want to have to keep hunting for a job because it feels like the second I stop my ass is getting booted to the street, which nobody wants.

I just checked and it's not in the Europe PS3 store, not sure if that means the release date was off or Sony has yet to update the damn store.

Its probably Sony, Sega confirmed the release date for PS3 as the 14th in Europe.

10344
I could've sworn we got stuff on Monday and Thursday.

10345
GBA GAMES CONFIRMED.

F-Zero: Maximum Velocity
Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island
Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap
Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones
Kirby & The Amazing Mirror
Mario Kart: Super Circuit
Mario vs. Donkey Kong
Metroid Fusion
Wario Land 4
WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgames

This list is hot sex.

Japan gets them on the 16th. We can only assume US users will get them on the 19th. EU Will get them whenever they update next week most likely.

New tidbit with the SCD Port. Apparently the vocals in Sonic-You can Do Anything (And probably Believe in Yourself as well.) have been wiped out of the port's opening.

[youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEbehshkzsw[/youtube]

We also get to see what the menu is like. Not bad considering the minimal effort that went into the Sega Vintage Collection ports.

Personally I think the song sounds fine without vocals.

US Soundtrack is in, not DLC. Must say this is very good news for anybody wanting a soundtrack swap. Doesn't seem like we'll be able to swap individual tracks... that would be too good.

Posted on: November 25, 2011, 08:10:47 PM
To all you Xbox 360 Owners, Sonic CD is now available for 400 MS Points. Anybody in Europe who has a PS3 can get the game as well, US PS3 Owners have to wait till the 20th (PS3 Price is $5.00).

iOS version releases tomorrow at $1.99 (Holy [parasitic bomb] its cheap), Android version supposedly was supposed to come out today but its believed to be coming out early next year along with the Windows Phone version.

PC version is in Limbo, no announced release date yet.

RMZX, you just went all systems full power crazy.
What's there to understand about K-ON? It's just a [tornado fang]ing anime about girls playing guitars and doing cute things.
Not to mention it's [parasitic bomb] and filled with QUALITY.

Yes I understand that.

What I don't understand is its popularity.
