I seem recall Earthbound being held back from Virtual Console citing references to songs and other things causing worry of law suits.

I thought it was because some songs sounded like actual songs (Like Frank's fight theme.).

but Legends is not going to get barred on the ground of "a name was copyrighted". It doesn't work that way.

Ok, this is what I was trying to say, thats not how the copyright/lawsuit world of the US works. They only care about direct similarities/straight rip of copyrighted material, not references (If they cared about references there wouldn't be any shout-outs/nods to other works of fiction, etc.)

The voice acting is indeed a major issue.

But the name thing might also be a factor. 

*Points to the Boxer in Street Fighter II whose name in Japan is M. Bison and name in the U.S. is Balrog due to the potential of Mike Tyson suing Capcom for name likeness.

Okay, the Aquaman thing was just stupid. I don't understand why in MMBN4 (And MM8, as well) it was fine but MMBN6 came out and DC goes "NO [tornado fang]ing WAY", that made absolutely no sense to me and still doesn't.

The M. Bison thing was probably a big deal, but its not like they took the character out/barred SF2 from release. They just did a small name swap.

Yes, watch the new movies.

1.11 is a great update to Episodes 1-6 with minor adjustments, and it looks [tornado fang]ing beautiful.

2.22 takes episodes 8-19 (Jet Alone is skipped because lolfiller) and puts a completely new spin on them, the battles are fluid, beautiful, and enjoyable, the psychological LOLDEEP is pretty much removed, and you are treated to a wonderful [tornado fang]ing cliffhanger.

3.0 is (I assume) going to be 20-23, we don't know much of course but it's going to be out in the Fall, with a Home release probably in the Winter or early spring of 2013, as it was with 2.22.

Nobody knows anything on final, it says 2013 but with how this series has been I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being 2015 or later.

I will automatically make it my goal to beat you if you play as Yoshi, I can't stand that [tornado fang]er in this game. He seems to be a consistent thorn in Single Player for me.

I highly doubt MML1 was barred from re-release because of the Action-Man thing (Its not like there is a character with his likeness, its just a name.)
The MML2 deal might be it, but again, I doubt it. Its not like the game has samples of the Songs included, its just names, unless some company is going to jump down Capcom's neck because "OMFG YOU USED OUR SONG NAME IN A TRIVIA THING I SUE YOU", it wouldn't be an issue.

Also I like how you pretty much posted the same thing in this and a necro'd thread that should've stayed dead. But I digress.

As its already been stated it was probably because of the voice acting.

UBW is definitely enjoyable.
Though I stopped reading for a long time when I got my first and only sex scene... GOOD GOD THAT WAS TERRIBLE!

The Sex Scenes are pretty bad, gotta love horrible writing.

The scenes aren't all that similar for too long anyway. Fate is generally agreed to be the worst route so hopefully you should enjoy UBW far more. If not there's always HF.

Well thats good to hear. I thought Fate was alright so I guess I'm in for a treat with UBW. I heard Heaven's Feel was pretty good as well, though that remains to be seen.

Still have plenty of bad ends to go through, so it might be a bit of time before I finish the game.

And its not boxsets, just [tornado fang]ing volumes upon volumes at $30 a pop for 5 episodes. Thats crap when you can get a complete series from Funimation for that price.

Well, we all know it's not it's fault, and like I said, it might be out of a business practice that's not doing well, and probably is doing so so that they can re-think the U.S. branch.

I'm just trying to lighten the mood for the whole SOPA scare anyway.

I don't think this had anything to do with SOPA, Physical DVD's/BD's are completely unaffected by it.

It is, however, probably because of their shitty business practice of "Release shows in small volumes with 6/7 episodes (Less if the show is really short) to maximize profit." Which in turn just pisses the consumer off and made them not want to waste their time with Bandai. At least they aren't as bad as the Japanese branch where they will pump out 9 volumes for a 25 episode show. (Then again, its apparently common practice in Japan to release anime across 7-8 volumes. Even short shows aren't immune to this [parasitic bomb].)

Well this kinda sucks...

But I gave up on Bandai on account of them being really shitty. Everything I wanted from them I have already purchased. CG: Renya getting the can is kind of a bummer, seeing what I've read of it so far wasn't that bad.

But I digress, the world goes on, [tornado fang] you Bandai you were [parasitic bomb] anyway. I guess if we want any more DVD's of properties they own they're going to have to either license it out to companies like Funimation or the Japanese Branch will have to start adding English Subtitles to their discs (And the English dub if they find it necessary/desirable.)
