I didn't recognize Amy until I read the description.

As far as wasabi peas go...  The best way to handle them is to eat lots of spicy things and train your tongue to handle them better.

Alright, break it up.  You can't fight around here.  So, Breaking Bad is a good show.  I haven't watched it.  I may check it out on DVD, though, due to the hype.

There you go.  A good thing about talking about the show.  It's making me curious.

Blargle, headache still holds stronger than superglue.  A few more videos, and then it's bedtime.

This headache is persistent and has now gotten my neck involved.  I'll watch a video or two and then call it a night.

Off The Wall / Re: Do you know any good places to buy Cosplay Costume?
« on: September 24, 2013, 05:06:59 AM »
You think my costuming skills came out of nowhere?  Hah!  When I first started seriously costuming, I visualized the end result at its absolute worst and worked toward surpassing that.  Many costumes have surprised me with how good they came out, but I've had a few lousy ones in the past.  Once I started working with duct tape, however, I was building more complex costumes.

Rather than focus on a difficult costume, start small and easy.  I started small and easy, even with my duct tape costumes.  I can't sew worth a lick, but I at least try, and usually I'll attempt to cobble together a reasonable facsimile from whatever I can find in second-hand and military surplus stores.  I'm scouting the latter for pieces for my Imperial officer uniform.

Stupid headache!  I took some Tylenol, so I'm waiting for it to work.  If it's a particularly stubborn headache, it may force an early bedtime.

My suggestion would be to look for a cosplay community and see what they recommend.  When it comes to costuming, for example with the 501st Legion, the community will often have sellers.  But, be aware that for a high-quality piece, you'll need to spend a lot of money.  For example, a good stormtrooper rig will run you at least $500.

Looking over eBay, I'm seeing various sellers with prices ranging from $90 to $100.  If you're looking for higher quality, try searching for parts of the costume, rather than the entire costume.  The price will be higher, though, if you buy it piecemeal.

Also, another option would be to find patterns and buy the fabric, and pay someone to make the costume for you.  This is what most professional cosplayers do, if they don't make the costume themselves.

Well, after a walk into town, finishing a project, getting some cleaning done, and finishing another part of the BoM adaptation, I'm tired.  I'm going to bed.

That walking into town isn't so bad when you have someone with you.

Nope.

The fourth episode should be a bit easier to adapt.  I'll need to draw several maps for this one, though.

Done adapting the third episode.  Good bit of condensing and rewording of redundant dialogue in this one.  Had to draw a map of character placement to keep track of where I put them in regards to the speakers.

Ah, more redundant dialogue to parse through and condense into something coherent...

Giovanni narrowed his eyes at Tarot Skitty, then moved his gaze to Payne.  First, the Post-It note, then the "VACANCY," then the vulgar imagery.  Something strange was going on, but he wasn't quite sure what.

He moved his hard gaze to Mewtwo.  Could that beast be to blame?  He didn't have any proof, and the events were so fleeting that no one else seemed to notice.  Thus, he really had nothing to go on.

Relenting to a sigh, he looked away.  His best bet was to just keep an eye on Mewtwo.  If it was doing something unsavory, it would eventually give itself away.

Watching some Matrix documentaries.  I'm going to work on adapting the third episode of BoM while I'm at it.

Been back from a long walk to get paper towels.  Oddly, only my elbow hurts.
