Domino leaned over to talk to James.  "I... actually might have something.  Let me give Slade a call, he has all my files."  Pulling out her phone, she ducked out into the hallway.  After a few minutes, she returned. "Alright.  Slade is searching my copies now, and he said he remembered seeing something like this.  He'll send me the file soon, but it's one of the Fuji recordings."

Meanwhile, Mewtwo had had enough of the accusations, and he stood. "If you allow me access to my own computer, I have copies of the unaltered footage!"

Mewtwo was also aghast, as he had seen the recording himself.  He had even copied the recordings onto his own computer.  He bit his bottom lip, wanting desperately to object, to say anything.

Meanwhile, Domino entered quietly and returned to her seat.

What is this guy's obsession with drug-addicted characters?  If the only way you can make your character "interesting" is by throwing in some contrived "adult" theme, then you don't have an interesting character to begin with.

"Giovanni has the ultimate authority, but I'll see what I can do.  I'll get copies of all the necessary documentation to remind him that Mewtwo is off-limits.  But, really, the best thing you can do is leave Kanto, which I assume you plan to do already.  Even custody papers won't stop my boss for long, but you keep them up to date, and he'll back off as long as the local law knows about Mewtwo's property status."

"It's nothing personal, it's just business," Domino gave a casual shrug.  "Though, Wily already spilled the beans on the steroids.  The court has archival research videos in evidence and they're showing them now.  Everyone will get to see Giovanni inject those steroids."

She shook her head. "Steroids.  I don't like them in my sports, and I don't like them in my Pokemon.  You're just asking for trouble there.  Even I have standards."

Domino nodded. "The pranks need to go.  I saw that last one.  You mean well, but you could end up just throwing Mewtwo under the bus if they keep up.  If you have to do them, keep them subtle and show your Gengar's face once in a while.  Right now, Giovanni suspects Mewtwo."

She started digging in her purse again. "You didn't get this from me.  In fact, this conversation never took place."  She finally fished out a folded piece of paper and handed it to Sakura. "E-mail exchanges between Giovanni and Dr. Yeung about their Shadow Pokemon project.  They concern Mewtwo and Meowth, as Yeung can't seem to understand what I mean when I said no testing our operatives.  I don't know if this is still on the table, as the last e-mails I got from my guys were about euthanasia, but either way... I really do not want to see a Shadow Mewtwo.  It's dangerous enough, and it holds back."

"He's off his gourd," Domino nodded.  "Look, back on Mount Quena, Giovanni was ready and willing to just let Mewtwo die just to prove a damn point.  Mewtwo is valuable, and it would be a huge waste of money to destroy it, but my boss hasn't been straight with me concerning his plans.  I had to hack his e-mails just to find out."  She let out a breath and fidgeted with stuff in her purse.  "Look, the point is this verdict can't go through.  At this point, I really don't care if we ever get Mewtwo back.  If Ms Shank gets custody, fine.  At least Mewtwo is still alive and we won't have this gaping hole in our budget."

She stopped fidgeting and looked up. "If you guys can guarantee a solid turnaround, all the more better.  I'd rather see Mewtwo off with some other trainer than watch Giovanni [acid burst] away millions of dollars just because he can't control something he created."

Domino stepped forward. "I'll make this quick."  She cleared her throat. "Team Rocket is my job, and I'm not about to leave my job, but you know how some days you really can't stand your boss's stupid decisions?  This is one of those days."

She folded her arms.  "Giovanni played a new card today, and it's terrible.  If things don't work out for your friend, we all lose out.  You do realize what verdict the prosecution's seeking, don't you?"

After a few moments of listening to the testimonies, Domino excused herself and quietly left the courtroom to make a quick phone call.  She walked by Sakura and N, who were milling about, amd ducked into an entryway.  Dialing, she waited for it to ring.  "Slade, it's me.  Yeah.  Did you get any more information?  ...No, right now Wily's on the stand.  ...Yeah, the prosecution called him up.  ...Mewtwo was on the stand a bit ago.  ...Yeah, it really didn't like what the prosecution was going for.  ...Yeah, I'm still pissed anout that!  Giovanni kept me out of the loop on this whole damn thing and I'm tired of his duplicity and this whole throwing away money business!"

She paused as Slade conversed with her.  "I already told Meowth to do what he can.  James, too.  ...No, I haven't heard back from Jessie.  ...Hold on..." she glanced over her shoulder at Sakura and Sapph.  "...Actually, I may have something.  Ms Shank's friends are hanging around out here.  ...Of course not!  Look, just because I don't like what he's planning, doesn't mean I'm going to quit!  Hey, the money's good, so what if I don't agree with everything?  [parasitic bomb] happens, Slade.  [parasitic bomb] happens."

Domino paused again.  "...Yeah.  Just keep me updated, see if you can find Jessie and drag her butt here.  I gave you her last coordinates.  ...Yeah.  Look, I don't care how you do it.  ...Put it on his tab.  I doubt he'll notice.  He's willing to throw away millions of dollars if he's going to put Mewtwo down, I'm sure he won't notice another hole in his budget.  ...Just do what you can, I don't care how.  I'll handle things on my end.  ...Thanks.  ...Yeah.  ...Thanks again.  Keep me posted."

Closing her phone and tucking it into her purse, Domino stepped back into the hallway and approached Sakura and Sapph.  "Excuse me, could I talk to you for a minute?"

Mewtwo nodded.  "I will work hard to stay my hand."  He folded his arms on the back of the bench in front of him and rested his head as Sakura and N left and time resumed once more.

The gavel that he had moved earlier during the time stop once again exploded in a burst of momentum, flying off of the judge's stand and tumbling to the floor with a loud clatter.

Mewtwo watched them for a bit longer.  Thankfully, he had looked away when they had stripped Giovanni to his underwear.  That was a sight that he could live without.
