"For my own protection," Mewtwo said simply, "and in the case of Mount Quena, for the protection of its spring.  Should I have allowed them to keep their memories, they would have defiled that place.  At the time, I had run out of other options.  I wanted to avoid any human casualties, and the best and most efficient way to do so would be to simply erase any trace of the encounter from their minds."

He glanced at Domino. "Though, it has come to my attention that my power does not remove the memories entirely, but simply suppresses them."

Domino nodded. "That's right.  The memories are still there, they're just locked away."

Ash nodded and left the stand, passing by Mewtwo as he approached it. "Good luck, this could be tough."

Mewtwo nodded and approached the stand, glancing at Giovanni, who was irate enough to spit nails.

I got a level 58 Ariados from Wonder Trade, so she's now on my team.  Gave her some battling experience and some love.  With a Steelix by her side, this gym should be easy.  Though, i'd like to get Thumper up to a higher level.  She's at 48, thereabouts.

Eh, I'll grind anyway and catch some trading fodder for Wonder Trade.

I got a Ditto in this last trade! :D

Which ones have Steel type attacks, or Poison.

That would be the Steelix.  I'd need to search my TMs and teach someone a Poison-type move.

Or I could grind like hell and go at it with sheer brute force.

In marketing, brand recognition is a big deal.  Capcom is well-established and recognizable.  To let them go completely under would be disastrous.  Other companies with money to burn would see the potential in buying Capcom and adding their brand to their company.  This would allow that company to make more money by owning the licensing.

(Call Mewtwo up again and have him testify on why he wiped their memories?  Ash can corroborate that statement straight away with the events that led to the memory wipe.  As can Meowth, James, and Domino.  She also offered to get her therapist on speaker phone to explain the exact nature of memory-wiping.

As the wiping was done in self-defense (and to prevent harm from a protected landmark), that could work for Phoenix.  Luna Carson's memory was wiped, too, but she does have a lot of information on Mount Quena itself and can attest to its protected status.  She's written papers which are available with just a quick search, and those would contain pertinent information on Mount Quena.  Also, the Johto Historical Society and Land Conservancy would have information that's public record.

In regards to the memory-wiping, Giovanni, Domino, and their troops were transported unharmed to a local airfield, where they left on their own accord.  Giovanni's memory wasn't fully erased, but repressed, as he did have a feeling that something happened, but he couldn't quite recall what.  When questioned about his sudden arrival at the airfield, he can mention the missing time, which would corroborate the incident, as Domino can testify to how long the operation took place, along with provide records.)

That's a shame.

They'll get bought out because nobody in their right mind would let a well-known brand name die out.

Only 900 more to go! 8D

So, Fairy gym.  I have:

Delphox, 50+
Charizard, ~50
Lucario, ~50
Farfetch'd, 50+
Steelix, ~50
Kadabra, ~50

Which ones stand a better chance and which should be sent to the back of the line?  I intend to grind either way.

Not going to Windsor, but now I'm full of coffee.

I worshiped at the Altar of Mabel for a bit.

I tried to pet my Lapras's head and she shook it.

She doesn't like head pets.  At all.

"ONLY PET MY CHEST.  You're lucky I let you pet me at all."

Either tonight or tomorrow I'll finally go conquer the fifth gym.  I have a Delphox, a Charizard, a Lucario, a Kadabra, a Farfetch'd, and a Steelix.  The Delphox and Farfetch'd are level 50+, the rest are 40s and I think the Steelix is hovering around high 30s.

Think the team is good to go?

I wasn't sure if my Absol and Houndour could mate.  Good to know that they eventually will.

Do Luxury Balls count? XD

I put Beardy the Absol and Tindalos the Houndour in the daycare.  I hope to have a litter, but they hate each other.

They had better have hate sex.

I keep doing the hotel jobs in Lumiose, and I finally got into that snooty store.  Didn't buy anything.  I was just happy to finally get in there.

Then, I went to the Poke Ball Boutique and bought some Balls.

Domino opened her mouth to attempt to explain the power, but decided against it, as she only knew the details from a psychologist's standpoint.  Even then, she couldn't adequately explain that.  She flipped through her phone's contact list and found her therapist's number. "If needed... I can call my therapist."

Mewtwo himself couldn't explain how his own power worked.  He couldn't explain the mechanics behind any of it, behind the free flight, behind the weather control, the mind control, anything.  He just knew that he could use them and he knew what they were.  As such, he declined to comment and dropped his gaze to the floor.

Ash merely shrugged.  Granted, as he thought back to the Mount Quena incident, Mewtwo did give him a sense of deja vu, but it was merely a feeling, with no memory attached.  He had seen various other rare Pokemon before, and he assumed that the feeling was due to simply catching a brief glimpse of Mewtwo somewhere.

"It wiped my memories, as well, but I recovered them," Domino spoke up.  "My hypnotherapist said that they weren't wiped, per se, but rather repressed.  With intensive hypnotherapy, I was able to recover them.  Mewtwo can't actually 'remove' memories.  If anyone else was subject to its memory-wiping, they can recover."

Mewtwo shrank in his seat.  He threw a wary glance at Ash.
