(I pretty much combined bits from Game Giovanni and was working on combining bits from Manga Giovanni. Dr. Fuji already became Mr. Fuji, and Blaine's prominence as one of Mewtwo's creators was elaborated mostly in the manga, so why not combine bits for Giovanni?)
Giovanni's thoughts had drifted off during the bickering. He had asked the bailiff for his coffee so he could drink more of it--not knowing that it was tampered with again--and downed that entire mug quickly. His stomach felt full and watery, and that disconnected feeling was even worse, but he didn't care. Or rather, his thoughts didn't dwell as they meandered off elsewhere. If anyone asked him anything, he may not have heard.
He took a moment to respond as Phoenix's question finally sunk in. Since he was only half-listening, he missed many of the details, but he assumed that the lawyer was talking about his testimony. Giovanni shook his head. "I think you got it all."
Domino, in her seat, had noticed Giovanni's subtle change in demeanor, knowing that he was quite buzzed from his spiked coffee. His half-hearted response confirmed his daydreaming. Yes! Her internal cheer, she reaffirmed to herself, wasn't for Giovanni's faltering, but for the benefit of securing his financial future.

Giovanni's gaze dropped to the stand before him. "It started going on and on about its purpose in life, and kept asking me what it was. I'd humor it here and there, in order to shut it up and get its focus back on its job. We'd be on assignment and Mewtwo would just stop what it's doing and ask me what its purpose was. It kept going for months on end, the same damn question over and over and finally, I got tired of trying to think of stuff to tell it. So, I told it the truth. It was created to fight for me. That's it."
He glanced up, blinked a few times, and rubbed the back of his neck again. That odd disconnected feeling was getting stronger, but he ignored it. Must be due to lack of a lunch break. He was quite hungry, after all. Just hunger, that must be it.
Giovanni heaved a sigh. "Needless to say, Mewtwo didn't take it very well."
(I'm passing out, here. I'm going to bed. Have fun bickering!)

It had such great potential, its powers were astounding, and it could learn and did learn anything that I taught it! I had taken Mewtwo on assignment, and it captured a whole year's worth of Pokemon on a single afternoon!"

"Certainly," Giovanni nodded. "The inspiration for the project started before I had succeeded my mother. But, then, it was just a search for Mew. Twenty years later, I had since taken my mother's place, and had decided that if we can't find Mew, we'll clone it. I had sent an expedition team to procure a Mew fossil, and contracted an offsite laboratory to clone the creature. Though, after several unsuccessful attempts, I decided that we should make an enhanced clone. The scientific team agreed, and genetic material from other sources was used to fill in the gaps from the Mew DNA, and about a year later, we successfully created Mewtwo."

Once my team had a stable embryo, then the time came for further enhancements. The memory-wiping is merely a variation of mind control, which Carr was able to utilize. And he did utilize it. He controlled the minds of my clones in the same way as I had controlled the minds of humans. Thus, once again, as we have established many times before, I was--for all intents and purposes--fighting myself. Thus, myself would be immune to my own mind control."
