Dr. Ladis smiled and shook James's hand.  "Thankfully, I had several no-shows today, so I had the time to come over.  I can't stay for too long, though, as I have a late-afternoon client coming in."

Domino looked to Ladis.  "You got my records?"

"Right here, though you need to sign them out," Ladis opened her briefcase and handed Domino a form and a pen. "You sure about this?"

Domino nodded, signing the forms and handing them back. "Absolutely.  The records Giovanni has weren't real specific, just stuff for insurance purposes.  These will tell the whole story."

Ladis nodded and put the form away, then fished out the appropriate records. "They're ready to submit."

"Thanks, this means a lot," Domino smiled.

"It wasn't her performance that was rocky, as she completed the assignment just fine," Giovanni shrugged.  "The assignment itself was rocky.  Team Plasma is a real pain in the ass.  A team of their agents had broken into one of our labs, and were stealing Pokemon, so Domino led a unit to stop them.  She said that some parts of that assignment really bothered her, and it wasn't Team Plasma.  They had broken into a part of one of our labs that she hadn't seen before.  It was her first time seeing some of our... more eccentric experiments."

At her seat, Domino thought back to that mission and shuddered a bit.  There were things in that lab that she just did not want to ever see again, nor did she ever want to see that lab again.  It was some secluded research lab on some island somewhere, and the experimentation in the darker corners of it were quite disturbing.  The Alakazam that Wily had augmented didn't even compare.

Hoping to take her mind off of that memory, she glanced at her phone.  A text message came in, alerting her to Dr. Ladis's arrival.  She responded and after a moment, the door in the back of the room opened, and Dr. Ladis quietly entered.  She was an older woman with graying hair and glasses, and she carried a briefcase.  Walking in lockstep beside her was an older Hypno.  The two found Domino and quietly seated themselves beside her and James.

Domino nodded to James.  "My hypnotherapist, Dr. Ladis.  She's great."

"I didn't notice anything in particular, but she's had some rocky field assignments where she came into conflict with Team Plasma," Giovanni shrugged.  "I figured that it was due to those assignments.  I've had other higher-ranking agents seek treatment for PTSD before, particularly when dealing with Legendary Pokemon.  Otherwise, nothing really stood out to me.  As for her using company funds, that was fine, as she was a great asset to the organization."

(Accept it as evidence, as that's exactly what it is.  However, to dismiss Domino's testimony entirely on the basis of mental illness isn't acceptable, as she would have to have a hearing to determine her competency.)

Domino rolled her eyes upward.  "It seems that Payne hasn't heard of due process for mental illness, and that mental competency is determined by a hearing.  Along with the fact that we're not dealing with schizophrenia here."  She sighed and looked at her watch. "Dr. Ladis should be here soon, she said she'll tell me when she gets here.  She's got my records."

Even Quickie raised an eyebrow and she looked to Phoenix. "If Domino was seeking treatment, then her records should show her outcome.  Mental competency should really only come into play if there are repeated psychiatric hospitalizations, or if Domino committed any offenses that were revealed to be brought on by her symptoms.  Was she showing any stress at work?  Was there a change in demeanor at all?  Did she seek treatment herself, or was she ordered to do so?  To dismiss her claims due to mental illness is a discrimination against her, as it lacks probable cause for concern.  Up until Payne brought it up, Giovanni didn't specify any concern."

Maya glanced over at Quickie.  "How late last night were you up studying this?"

"Old research I did for a psychology thesis," Quickie nodded.  "I study psychology, been teaching Mewtwo about it to help him better understand humans."

I can also use the fluffy fuzz to add some fur to the cheap gloves I got.  I also need some sheer fabric to put into the eyeholes of the mask.  All my bought costume accessories go through some level of modification, and my werewolf mask is no exception.  It needs Velcro for the back.

"She had great command presence and could juggle various aliases without a problem.  She had multiple talents, the other agents either respected her, feared her, or disliked her direct approach to assignments and commands," Giovanni explained.  "When she set her mind to something, she'd complete it.  She's spearheaded multiple missions for me, worked well with my other teams, and when it came to certain decisions, she always thought for the benefit of the team."

Giovanni paused and his stomach emitted a loud, watery gurgle.  He ignored it and continued.  "Like I said, she's advised me on several occasions, and I trusted her with classified materials.  Why she decided to betray me is beyond me."

Domino shook her head ruefully and muttered under her breath, "You'll figure out why when you're not trying to refill a gaping hole in your budget, while your accountant is breathing down your neck, and your budget is in the red..."

I got my fifth Eevee, an Archen, and a Larvitar from Wonder Trade.  I put up a blue Flabebe in GTS.  Hopefully someone will give me a Squirtle.

Giovanni approached the stand, feeling refreshed since eating that hotdog with everything and all those nachos.  Granted, the chili, relish, jalepenos, banana peppers, guacamole, onions, nacho cheese, and red peppers were giving him some gas, but that was a small price to pay for a delicious and filling meal.

Domino hung back as everyone walked by her.  Phoenix and his group didn't notice her, and the wardens and Mewtwo made their way into the courtroom.  Giovanni threw a venomous glare at her that had enough sting to force her to step backward.  Waiting until he was inside, Domino took a deep breath and entered the courtroom.

(And on that note, I'm going to go crawl into bed and curl up with Mabel.)
