A semicolon can be thought of as the punctuation equivalent of "and." If your sentence can be divided into two, or it could use "and," a semicolon can be used.

What you did is known as a comma splice. Easy ways to fix it would be to divide the statement into two sentences, or replace the comma with a semicolon.

Spencer's forgot to take the ink tag off the shirt I bought. Of course I notice this now after I get home.
Sunday, my dad will take it to Camp Hill to remove the ink tag. I won't see the shirt for a week, but at least the tag will be gone.

"Oh, Douglas's project? He's looking into behavior and whether or not it plays a role in a colony's migratory patterns, should that species migrate. Mainly, he studies social structure. Fantastic research, actually. Many species won't readily divulge their secrets, and that's why he uses trained Alakazams. It also gives us nice insight into trainer-Pokemon dynamics when Psychics are trained by non-psychics.
"Runaway tends to work with Pokemon Village captures, mainly. Though, if someone brings in a rare from out near Victory Road, we've been able to determine why many of those Pokemon will actively attack other trainers. It can be quite unsettling to be minding your own business, only to be dive-bombed by an aggressive Skarmory. With Runaway's help, we've determined a loose behavioral pattern, which has protected many trainers."

(I guess I'll take him. Happy professional, with an eye for the ladies, and a smattering of French. I can pull that off...)
After a moment, Sycamore answered.
"Salut! Hello! Trak, how're things going in Hoenn? Having a good time?"
"Unfortunately, no," Trak shook her head. "Things came up. We ended up with an abused Zoroark, and Runaway scanned its mind. He hasn't been the same since, and the scan went bad and I had to have Twoey go into the Zoroark's mind and fish him out."
"Oh dear... How is he?"
"Depressed, scared, and really distant," Trak rubbed Runaway's shoulder. "After Twoey fished him out, he was really disoriented. Nurse Joy looked at him and prescribed a mild sedative, but that was really all she did: look at him."
"I see, I see. How bad did the mind meld go?"
"He got a nosebleed before I sent Twoey in," Trak explained. "Like I said, he got lost and Twoey had to intervene, and he hasn't been right since."
"Hm... If you're near a larger Pokemon Center, have Nurse Joy run some tests and fax the results to me. We'll proceed from there. Runaway should be fine, but he'll need time to recover, and I'd like to rule out anything else. A head scan and EEG will suffice. If you can do one, request a sleep study. He should be fine, but we'll make sure nothing else is going on, all right?"
"Okay, thanks, I'll see what I can do," Trak nodded and handed the Holocaster to Sakura.
After a moment, Sycamore answered.

Twoey nodded, fished through Trak's bag, and handed it to her.
"Thanks," Trak fiddled with the device, then dialed Sycamore's office, getting his secretary. "Yes, I'd like to speak with Professor Sycamore? This is Trak. Is he in?"
A translucent image of a woman wearing pinc-nez glasses appeared. "One moment, please, and I'll transfer you..."

Twoey used the opportunity to actually go in, close the door, and use the bathroom. After a moment, he left, drying his hands.
Runaway had stopped crying and he wiped his eyes, sniffling. It was such a relief to let it all out, and he felt better, but was still bothered by the Zoroark's memories.
Trak hugged him, dried his eyes, then held the tissue to his nose. "Blow." Runaway blew his nose. "I know this isn't going to go away for a while, but try not to dwell on it as much. It's okay to be happy, and we all need the distraction, okay?"
Runaway nodded slowly. "Oui."
"Let's go get some ice cream, would that help?"
Runaway nodded again. "Oui. Zoroark peut venir?" Yes. Can Zoroark come?
"Of course he can," Trak smiled. Ice cream won't actually solve the problem, but they should eat some anyway.

Out in the other room, Trak had time to sit down and talk to Runaway. The talk ended with the Alakazam crying into Trak's shirt. So, she sat there, held him, and let him cry for the Zoroark.
