Oh god, the Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath so far has been boring as hell. A whole lot of nothing happened, and we just plowed through a journey touted as being perilous and great for an anticlimactic end to what amounts to "Your Elder God is in another castle!"
People tout this story as being super awesome and so far it's been a big letdown and Nyarlathotep's appearance was a passing mention amid a battle orgy of cats on the moon.
It's not helped by the fact that Randolph Carter is a big Purity Sue.

Oh, if anyone else wants to jam the Shadow Prune on a stand, the hole is too small. I took a pair of needle-nose jewelry pliers and widened it enough to stick onto the stand. Doing this will make it less snug when fit onto Mewtwo's hand, but if you want to display the effects piece in action, it's a worthy modification.

Okay, I'm going to try and segue for Tron's comic idea by discussing some fandom activities in general.
On TFN, there is a writing prompt thread and one of the prompts actually got some juices flowing and I'm considering writing a short for it. What I had in mind was a short story based on an NPC battle I had a while back, where while backtracking, I came across a trainer I had somehow missed, and proceeded to massacre their lvl 5 Pikachu with lvl 100 Runaway, using Return (at the time). I'm tempted to write that into a short story, as the prompt was "hit me with your best shot."
Considering the logical outcome, what would be a good way to soften the massacre? What should Trak say to little Mia after obliterating her Pikachu?

Every fic on TFN is a romance. If it's not explicitly stated to be a romance, it's usually angst with heavy romantic subtext. If not that, it's hurt/comfort angst with heavy romantic subtext. If you don't write romance, your fics are overlooked. If you write friendly mush, your fics get read, but not as much as the romance fics.
I saw a recent (as in last year) Pokemon fic, which was a romance. Brock/Misty romance. Everything there is a romance.

Quickie returned from parking the car and started for the security office with everyone else in tow. Inside, Mewtwo was waiting at the front desk.
Behind the desk, the guard glanced up. "Your guests?"
Mewtwo nodded. "Yes."
The guard nodded and put a bunch of papers on the desk, along with badges. "Sign these, and you can take them to the bio lab. No photography while in there."
Quickie, being a frequent visitor, had her own pass. She pulled it out, showed it to the guard, and then clipped it to her shirt. Mewtwo likewise had hung his student ID--suspended on a lanyard--around his neck, and passed out pens.
Trak took a pen and read over the NDA. It was a standard form, stating that once signed, she would not take any pictures, nor publicly speak about anything that she saw. Signing the paper, she handed it back.

A few nights ago, I had an odd dream. At some point, I was watching some Sixth Doctor episode called "The Dreams of Har Farhkuu" or something. It involved an alien queen (Har Farhkuu, I guess) and her time-traveling race of Kiliks. I'm not sure what the plot was, if there was any plot. At some point, there was a scene of Har Farhkuu molting into her next stage of evolution or something wonky, and she was connected to this giant web, surrounded by her Kilik followers as she pulled off pieces of her black, shiny exoskeleton, revealing spikes and some leather outfit that Catwoman would envy. The episode has significance because it was, for whatever reason, an episode that my brother and I apparently guest-starred in as residents of some backwater planet who helped the Sixth Doctor defeat Har Farhkuu. Some how.
Then, at another point, I was attending a dinner with my mom and she turned into the giant Me Monster and was stomping the city to the ground. So, I summon my giant robot morphing powers, yell "Henshin a go go, baby!" and morph into a bizarre hybrid of the Megazord and Ultraman and battle the Me Monster, just as Godzilla stomps in.
I am not writing a fanfic about it. No. I refuse. Not even the Sixth Doctor episode. There's nothing to go on!
Some weird dream I had last year or so, which I came across while reading through another topic on TFN. Copied it to share with someone else.
