They're sun-bleached, so they've been there for a long time.  Just bones in a pile.

I use myself as a model for most of my drawings when I need to. Except its hard for action poses and never works well for the lower half. Maybe I should record myself doing simple poses and actions and use those as an anatomical reference.

Actually, that's a great idea.  If your camera has a timer, you could take selfies for reference.  I'm considering doing that, though I'd need to get a camera with a timer.

I also have that same issue. Especially with my recordings. But at least its only a minute or two of work to fix those errors. I refuse to draw that leg again. I'll leave it as a reminder to pay more attention to the anatomy. And also possibly use a reference or two next time instead of winging it.

For complicated poses, even if I have a photo reference, I'd love to have a model that I can manipulate and draw from any angle.  Unfortunately, I don't think I can convince my neighbors to help with that without looking reeeeeeeeally creepy.

Though, I did find deer skeletal remains in the woods a while back.  I should take my sketchbook out to those remains and draw some of the bones.

Got to love it when that moment of bliss and triumph becomes crippling self-doubt and seething hatred for your piece within seconds.

That's the reason why I don't hang up any of my pictures.  I grow to hate them as all I see are mistakes.

Yeah, his work bugged me ever since I had seen it on SW Fanon.  He was promoting himself like he was the greatest thing ever, too.  Giving him a reality check was looooooong overdue.

I've been working on drawing this pose, slightly modified.



I've dug out my anatomy book for reference of a similar pose, which I sketched out the musculature and then the skeleton.



Next up: more musculature and skeletal studies.

Hoo boy.  That diversity thread I talked about and linked to about a page or so back?  Yeah, now it's talking about art and what it is and isn't.  We have a scholarly elite trying to tell us nerds what art is and what it means to be an artist, and I think I can safely say that I don't measure up to his ideals, despite being the only active artist in that thread.
