I need to resume my Shuckle hunt.  Finding nothing but Graveler grenades and having to pump my Hypno full of potions after each rock was getting tiring.

Sure, I could have meat shield Mewtwo deal with them, but Hypno needs the training, particularly when I start really changing up his moves.

I'm sitting here with Mabel beside me.  I plan to go to bed soon.

I read Haunted Asylums by E. R. Vernor.  The book talked about fifty old sanitariums and their histories more than any actual hauntings.  Quite fascinating.

I got Chinese food for dinner.  Shrimp mei fun (gave some shrimp to Mabel), white rice to nosh on, and delicious sugar donuts.  If you haven't ever eaten fastnachts, these donuts are pretty darn close in terms of texture and even taste!

Storm rolled through, I got dinner, and now I'm just relaxing.  May go for a short walk.

Man, that storm came up fast!  Sun one second, dark sky the next!  Wind's blowing like crazy, so I checked the radar and it's a big one bearing down on Gettysburg.

I hope the reptile rescue table is at the Faerie Festival again.  I want to hold snakes, lizards, and scorpions.

Yes, the reptile rescue had a scorpion.  So did the reptile expo.  Insects and arachnids are generally lumped in.

For most snakes, I try to relocate them, either by shooing them away or capturing them.  I actually prefer to handle larger snakes, as I can get a better grip.  The garter snake was about two feet long and coiled, so I got behind it, distracted its gaze with one hand and immobilized the head with the other long enough for me to pick it up.

Grabbing the snake directly behind the head is the most effective way of handling to avoid being bitten.

I haven't heard the barn owl lately.  Heard the barred owls, but not the barn owl.  It must've moved on.

Bit of a good thing, as its creepy scream in the dead of night is a touch unsettling.

And speaking of critters hanging out outside... I should ask my sis-in-law how the garter snake is doing.  I found it under a board beneath the kids' swing set, and had captured it so they could see it and touch it, and then relocated it to the rock garden.  Within an hour, it was back under the board.

Guess the eating's good.

Last night, I spent a few minutes staring at my dowsing pendulum and watching it swing, and then laid down as Mabel joined me.  I slept great.

Guess the simple self-hypnosis worked, so long as it was combined with cat therapy. XD

Either I'm sitting too far away from the screen or need more sleep, because I keep misreading some of these posts.

Might be the latter.  I know that when I'm sleep-deprived, I start misreading posts.

If I'm really sleep-deprived, I see signs walk across the road.

DRUGS IT IS

I actually have a box of ZzzQuil in the medicine cabinet.  It's just the drowsiness side effect of NyQuil in pill form.  Works pretty well, actually.

... Wouldn't that make it worse?

Mint tea.  It's caffeine-free.  But, I may have warm milk instead.

There's also the good ol' standby of Benedryl! 8D

So, you know that Alien figure?

Ringman got one for free.

It has a broken spine and the company is sending a replacement to his friend, but his friend gave him the broken one.  I may Mighty Putty a new spine for it, but yes, he has one for free.  His first figure.

Finally got my mail after letting it pile up.  There's a reason I don't get it regularly and that's due to just getting junk mail.
