« on: April 29, 2014, 09:34:19 PM »So I just learned that my ear buds came with different sized buds but they fell out of the box so I didn't know until I found them again on the floor. The smaller ones feel more comfortable and they aren't being threatened of falling out of my ears. Why can't most ear buds be designed as well as these.
Yeah, mine have different size buds and I have the smallest ones in mine, currently. My first pair lost one of the buds, so I had to replace those (thankfully the buds and not the whole set).
If you have a Five Below store near you, they sell replacement bud covers in different sizes.

I got my laundry problem sorted out. Both double-loader machines are mine and mine alone to use.

One of the washers was free, so I load it up, only to find that it didn't work and just ate my quarters. So I lost money. I head back, get more quarters, and transfer my money to another machine that worked. The other two machines are full, still, including the double loader which I'm waiting to use.

The Faerie Festival is this weekend. I gave my Hypno evo-hoodie a quick FeBreeze and put it away. I intend to wear it Friday when I go (Saturday has rain in the forecast).

The sound was clearly synthesized. It wasn't animal, it wasn't a car alarm, and I don't think it was an alarm from Adams Electric down the street as one, it wouldn't have been so loud as to sound like it's right outside my window, and two, they use a standard buzzer.
This noise lasted for half a second and due to the weird Doppler effect, I could hear it move through the air in a sweep. It only made one sweep. It was very loud and very out of place.
Perhaps Daleks invaded...

And I just heard the weirdest sound outside, and it was plenty loud, and I couldn't quite pinpoint where it came from.

God, I do not even want to touch Wookieepedia right now. My few Featured Articles with their EU sources... non-canon. My Good Articles with their EU sources... non-canon. My prides and joy, all that work, all that research into the most obscure and even mundane EU subjects that I could ever work on, with sources from as many outlets as I can gather, including non-SW sources for the frikkin' behind-the-scenes portions... all that work, all that research, all those pages upon pages of copious notes, my folders of scans, my piles of source material, all of it... all for naught.

Mine, too. Most of my sourcebooks pertain to the Rise of the Empire/Rebellion eras. It makes me sad to see them go, and knowing that the EU will essentially be strip-mined for ideas means that things could show up changed drastically. Mara Jade could go from Emperor's Hand to cocktail waitress.
If long-standing characters like that are subject to such changes, I'd rather they never be used again.
