Ringman has it on DVD, and that's where our CG Spider meme came from.  We don't remember the spider's name, just that when we first saw it, we were like, "that's a horrible CG spider..."

Then we watched the bonus behind-the-scenes material where we found out that the spider wasn't CG, but a practical model.

Thus was born our "time to get out the CG Spider!" meme where it's kept in a closet.

That was the major selling point for me; Godzilla's look.  It's been tweaked, but it's a nice look.  I like his new bulkier body, and I like how his head looks.

And the less said about Zilla, the better.

HR Giger passed away at 74

The man who brought us the Xenomorph and production design for Species has passed on.  His style was very unique and had seen use in Dark Seed game franchise.  He published his Necronomicon in the 70s, and his surrealist paintings found their way into museums, tattoo designs, and record album covers, most notably the "[ray splasher] landscape" for Dead Kennedys.

HR Giger is one of my favorite artists, and many others have been influenced by his style, which can be seen in some very unlikely places (Mewtwo's fortress on New Island has a very Giger-influenced motif).  While Giger may be gone, his work will live on through others.

The grocery run lasts from 1 to 3, with multiple people coming along.  There wouldn't have been time to test out beds while hitting up the grocery store.

I took a walk and methinks that despite a couple days of no hip pain, my hip wasn't quite yet 100%.  It seized up something fierce during my walk.  Maaaaaayyyyyy have overdid it a tad.

It's a SW/FFVIII crossover fic.

Granted, compared to some of the crossover fodder I've seen, FF has at least a fighting chance of having enough similarities that in the right hands, a crossover could work, but this...  This one is starring Mara Jade and Squall.

I went outside and found a toad taking a dump in the middle of the road.  I waited until it was finished, and then moved it to the side of the road. 

A little while later after scooping a gray treefrog off the road and carrying it toward the drainage ditch where the other treefrogs are, I heard a frog make a sound not unlike farting in a chair. 

How lovely.
