Also on my list?  Scuba-diving around a coral reef, swimming with dolphins, swimming with sharks, bungee jumping, sky-diving, seeing the night sky of the southern hemisphere, traveling to another country...

...First time I ever heard that.

It's just one of those things that're on my list of things I should see/experience before I die.  I also wanna see a tornado.  I've seen one forming before and that was pretty cool.

I wanna experience an earthquake some time...  Seeing as how nearby Dillsburg has had over 300 since October, then I should go spend some time there.

X / Re: Zero was way cooler before he became playable.
« on: March 27, 2009, 04:34:59 AM »
I liken Zero's rise to popularity and plummet to the bottom of my Faves list to the rise of Boba Fett's popularity.  Fett was cool when he was a moving piece of background that no one knew anything about and said little.  He had a reputation of disintegrating bounties, which added to that coolness factor.  Then he went out like a punk, dumped into the sarlacc by a blind Han.  But, even still, Fett was cool.

Then authors like Karen Traviss got a hold of him.  Now he's living well into the Legacy Era, he's super-good at everything and paved the way for a whole battalion of Fett wannabes and the conlang Mando'a.  Everyone loves him and wants to be like him and I see fanon character after fanon character that's just yet another Fett wannabe with Force powers.  His popularity made him suck.

Now, Zero...  He was cool as he had a dark past, he was borderline psycho, and said little.  Then he became playable which I guess is the equivalent of Traviss writing Fett.  Zero's now super-good at everything and everyone wants to be like him and there are fanon Zero wannabes running around.  Hell, Axl idolized him!  Then Zero lasted all the way through to the Zero series era, which is roughly the equivalent of the Legacy Era.  His popularity made him suck.

However, his manga 'fore the author took a drastic new turn, was funny.

Oddly enough, it was raining here today, too.

Anywho, I called the doctor about the dog bite and I don't need a tetanus shot, thankfully.  However, if they checked the bite, they'd hafta report my grandma's dog to the state and the dog warden would hafta come over and quarantine the dog.  I'd also then would hafta get a rabies shot as a precaution.  Since I'm none too keen on getting stabbed eight times in the gut with a needle and since I just can't report that dog as it'd cause a whole rigmarole of additional crap to deal with, then I didn't go.  The bite's not that bad anyway.

So, that was my day.

Note to self: Don't buy Desert Punk.  I'll just watch it online if I get curious.

"How'd it go with the doctor?"

I'll be going Friday.  Couldn't go today as I need to schedule appointments around my dad's work schedule.

Desert Punk: The Complete Series.

The opening is just hilarious.

Gimme a review of it sometime.  I've been meaning to check the series out.

I also once went on an FFA trip to castrate cows.  Now THAT was interesting!

I've interned at a vet's office once and got to watch a cat be spayed and a dog be neutered.  I also helped with delivering nine puppies via c-section.  Twas interesting.

Spaying is the removal of the reproductive organs in a female pet.  Neutering is the removal of the reproductive organs in a male pet.  The general term is "castration."

Vets are expensive.  Though, my cats are gonna make the trip at least once for shots and fixings.  Yep, poor Han is gonna have his manhood lopped off.

Two years ago.  I haven't gotten any since as the cats would eat 'em and I'd rather have my own place where no one would really mind if a small army of ants was routinely present on my windowsill, marching into the jaws of the flytraps and being devoured, thereby keeping the colony population in check.  Great for pest control.

Neither do I at the moment.  When I did, though, they ate a steady diet of ants and one of 'em had a piece of flesh as an experiment.  I chose the smallest, somewhat sickly-looking flytrap and gave it a piece of calloused skin.  It ate it... and grew better.

Human flesh makes flytraps grow.
