Personally, I find playing it with the keyboard to be pointless.  Can't get exercise that way, only carpal tunnel.  It's more impressive to see someone coordinate their legs to the steps, rather than the fingers.

Still playing Stepmania.  Got some new songs to try out, so I'm happy.  Played for several hours straight, so I'm sore.  I seriously need to put a carpet pad underneath the dance pad, as hitting that concrete floor in socks is really doing a number on my knees.

Made some more progress in the audio adaptation of Yavin Vassilika, played Stepmania for several hours and am sore, and overall had a decent time that passed couple days.  I'm about 50 pages away from finishing Allegiance, and plan to read When Gravity Fails next.  Gonna balance out my reading with a cyberpunk.

Today was gorgeous.  I went to dig out an old easel and found I need to do some repairs before I can use it, so tomorrow I'm getting a few bolts.  Then, I'm gonna dig out my canvas and paint.  I would've painted today, as I could've jury-rigged something with duck tape, but once the breeze catches my canvas, I'll end up chasing it across the yard and therefore not getting any painting done.

Ah well.  There's always tomorrow if the weather cooperates.

Another good book to sharpen your brain with: A Void by Georges Perec.  Throughout the prose, the author doesn't use words that contain the letter "e".  You'll be hauling out the thesaurus and dictionary and broadening your vocabulary in no time.

Quote from: Here's an excerpt.
Noon rings out. A wasp, making an ominous sound, a sound akin to a klaxon or a tocsin, flits about. Augustus, who has had a bad night, sits up blinking and purblind. Oh what was that word (is his thought) that ran through my brain all night, that idiotic word that, hard as I'd try to pun it down, was always just an inch or two out of my grasp - fowl or foul or Vow or Voyal? - a word which, by association, brought into play an incongruous mass and magma of nouns, idioms, slogans and sayings, a confusing, amorphous outpouring which I sought in vain to control or turn off but which wound around my mind a whirlwind of a cord, a whiplash of a cord, a cord that would split again and again, would knit again and again, of words without communication or any possibility of combination, words without pronunciation, signification or transcription but out of which, notwithstanding, was brought forth a flux, a continuous, compact and lucid flow: an intuition, a vacillating frisson of illumination as if caught in a flash of lightning or in a mist abruptly rising to unshroud an obvious sign - but a sign, alas, that would last an instant only to vanish for good.

I learned that "ning-nong" is an offensive term in Australia, akin to the term "idiot".

Hm... I got enough notes and outlines written in my notebook on this character, I could prolly write a fic.  I'd like to have another larger plot running alongside, though.  I can think of that later...

Good god, that character review was bad.  It was so cheesey.  Appropriately enough, I snacked on cheese afterward.

Read books.  Books with engaging prose that is crammed full of words you are unfamiliar with.  Read some Burroughs.  The prose in Princess of Mars made me dig out the thesaurus a few times.  That'll keep your brain sharp.

I liked Ferngully, at least the first one.  I thought it was pretty good.

Anywho...  I personally didn't care for Cloverfeild too much.  I'll give the director credit with what he was trying to do, but overall, I wasn't very satisfied.  Usually, I try to get a general idea on how well-received a movie is before I see it, and thus have managed to avoid seeing mind-numbingly bad movies.
