Yeah.  Kilowog wouldn't put up with that.  And I won't even begin on why that whole last scene was wrong, wrong, wrong.

Just watched Emerald Knights this evening.  It was awesome and it had Mogo.  You can't go wrong with Mogo.

My Greedo costume.  I've been working on it off and on for a few months, now.  I got an interior support structure built for the mask, already have the boots, and next up are the gloves.  Then comes the fun part of finding a jumpsuit to alter and a vest.  The belt and holster I can either buy or build myself, which I am banking on the latter.  I need to hone my sewing skills.

I bought a pair of swim trunks that match my bikini top.

Costume supplies, including heavy-duty dark green thread, green faux suede fabric, a fabric pencil, and a sewing kit.

This isn't for a Green Lantern costume.  I'd use spandex for that. :P

Hm.  We have furries, so would there also be scalies, birdies, fishies, buggies, and woodies?

At least they gave him an excellent voice. XD

Yeah, the voice was good, but it still can't cover the fact that he looks like he's filled with Jell-O.

Anywho... shall I start a boycott of the merchandise?

It usually lasts from sixteen until the kid either chooses baptism and joins the church or leaves the community.  During rumspringa, the kids aren't punished as severely when they engage in English activities and trends.  Despite their rebellion, most choose to stay within the Order after rumspringa.

Well, in some communities, during rumspringa, a young Amish is allowed to go out and experience the world.  They no doubt have English (non-Amish) friends where they can keep their English things.

Kilowog's weight maps still sucked. :P

Why not?  See if other rebellious Amish teenagers are doing things behind their parents' backs, too.  Perhaps hook up when they go on rumspringa.

I hated Kilowog's render from Day One.  His weight maps shift all over the place, he would have looked better as a big foam suit.  Hell, I'm tempted to some day construct a duck tape version that, albeit smaller, would still look better!  And decent Lanterns were used as cannon fodder.  And Salaak needed to have at least a bit part.  He's pretty damn important, as...

Blake Lively's acting was flat.  I swear Cowgirl was in the first scene and was offered water from the tap (not a bad thing, mind you).  Hal channeled Kyle and Guy too much.  The CG uniforms were weird, particularly in some scenes where it seemed like Hal's head was pasted onto a CG render in AfterEffects.  The pacing was shifting as much as Kilowog's weight maps.  Kilowog needed a bigger part, too.  He wouldn't take kindly to the small part those poozers gave him!  And the rest I'll leave to PB's rant.

CG is oftentimes more expensive, as the hardware needed to render single frames cost more than liquid latex.

Hal was channeling a bit of Kyle Rayner with that.  It seemed to me that the writers were trying to mix the two a bit.  Of our Earthly Lanterns, Kyle is the nerdiest.

Mogo was really hard to spot.  He was toward the end of the credits roll, on the right side, and I only realized it was him due to his texture being a perfect band across his equator.  His ring landmass isn't seen, but the landmass across his equator was perfectly straight.  And only now do I realize how somewhat odd it is to refer to a planet by a gender...

As for Sinestro... The entire time, my mind was screaming "QWARD!  SHOW THE WEAPONERS OF QWARD!"  But, I get... that.  And that weird transparent membrane on the Guardians' heads?  What was up with that?  That looked terrible.  Seriously, they could have been done without CG.  You want short Guardians?  Slap a bald cap on a little person and have that actor spend two to three hours in makeup!  It would look much, much better.

Amish Youth Hitchin' Up to Facebook

Saw this in my local paper today and thought I'd share it.  Only in Pennsylvania (and possibly Ohio and anywhere else there are large Amish populations) would this make the front page...

Yeah, that was cute.  I could barely read the thing and I spent a while trying to discern the logo.  Screw the dialogue, screw any potential plot developments, I wanted to see what arcade cabinets were in the background! 8D

I want my Flash movie!  And it had better have Captain Cold in a PARKA!  With a HOOD!  A fur-lined hood!  And it had better be blue and he had better have those snazzy shades!

Albino Captain Cold in a motorcycle jacket will not do.  I want my Eskimo cosplay!

They're going too, most likely.

With all the glaring continuity issues, I suspect that's prolly what's gonna happen.  They're gonna streamline it all to be a sort of "Ultimate" universe.  Though, I still think Salaak deserved at the very least a line or two.  He's pretty damn important!

Green Lantern was fun while watching it, but after I dissected it, there were a large number of flaws, including the pacing.  The pacing started out alright, then it meandered, then it got back on track, then it rushed the ending.  And let's not forget some continuity snags and the character designs that I didn't care for and the usage of decent Lanterns as cannon fodder (Isamot Kol!  WHY?!!)...

As for the CG, I expected it.  Hell, I was okay with it for the constructs, as the other way I'd make those would be cell animation.  Though Kilowog still had shifting weight maps.  It's as if the entire budget went to Tomar-Re.  He looked pretty decent.  Kilowog, though...

I found this lovely creature on the sidewalk today.  It's a banded horntail.
