I learned a number of things today.

1. A local candy shop sells chocolate-covered bacon.

2. Chocolate-covered bacon is delicious.

3. That shop also sells chocolate-covered insects and candy-coated scorpions.

4. Different types (mealworm versus cricket) add a different distinction to the chocolate, based on exoskeleton and habitat.

5. My new glasses will be ready in a couple weeks.

6. My eye doctor looks like Noah Wyle from ER.

Some day, I will learn how many licks it takes to get to the scorpion center of a scorpion pop.

The Real Adventures of Johnny Quest... I don't remember hating it, I remember watching it an awful lot, but I know that there was something about it that bugged me, but I forget what it was. At the time, I liked the show. It entertained me. But, after a while, there was something about the show that bugged me to no end, but I forget what it was.

I've seen the original when I was a kid and was a fan of it.

Well. That's... That doesn't make me too eager to get satellite Internet any time, now. I've considered it once or twice (I have DSL, currently. Centurylink around here is pretty good), but with the problems you're having... and with how I see cloud cover interfering with Dish Network at times, it doesn't put my faith in the system. And the customer service...

What bothers me most about the customer service is the lateness of the replies. Fifteen days? Seriously? it takes that long to troubleshoot a problem and run a few comparisons with other systems? I can understand that if you were, perhaps, sequencing DNA, but you're checking for an error on freakin' Tumblr!

I've had computer speakers pick up cellphone conversations, and my own phone has intercepted other cellphone signals. It could be that; your computer may be picking up wireless signals.

I've been wrangling snakes since I was a little kid, and I have experience with handling black snakes. After it lunged at me, I carefully approached it, ready to capture it so that I could relocate it. However, with some coaxing, it slithered away itself, off into the woods.

I am not hurting that black snake. I shooed it into the weeds so that no one would find it and potentially hurt it. The snake was only trying to protect itself, it did nothing wrong.

TrakNar We had an outtake from the second chapter where I was doing one of Zuckuss's lines and I started coughing really badly and had to leave the room for a moment. Pierce quipped in as 4-LOM: "If you're going to /die,/ do it some place else!"
TrakNar We got rid of it because we decided that no one wants to hear Zuckuss die. Later, Pierce asked why we got rid of it and I had to remind him.

Well, it certainly woke me up!

But, black snakes are harmless. At most, if the snake did bite, it would have gotten a mouthful of pant leg. The strike, though, was a feint, as it was agitated and I had unknowingly gotten too close. I didn't see it until it moved, and even then, it was out of the corner of my eye. One second, I'm walking along the road, the next second, there's this snake striking at me.

Well, as I was coming back to where I had seen the snake a half-hour earlier, it was trying to cross the road. So, I shooed it off the road and back into the weeds. Hopefully it stays hidden.

So, while I was taking a walk today, a five-foot black snake lunged at my leg. I didn't see it until it struck, so I leapt backwards several feet. Immediately afterward, I shooed the snake into the weeds so that no one else would find it and potentially hurt it.

Here we go... "Aberrant, grotesque, preposterous, and uncanny." I think those work nicely. Other suggestions were "ghastly, repugnant, and abominable".
