Mewtwo wiped his muzzle and attempted to brush crumbs out of his fur.  He stood, cracked his back, and crouched again.  He stretched his arms, cracked his neck, and looked at his hands.  "That was very messy.  And sticky."

Quickie handed him another moist towelette.  "Marshmallows get that way."

If I want to use public transit, I go two miles into town to the transit center.  The buses don't come anywhere near where I live.  The closest stop is at HACC... which is two miles away.  It's easier to walk into town.

There is nothing within any convenient distance from where I live.  If I need to go to Harrisburg, I could catch the Rabbit bus to the York transfer center, take the CAT connection to Harrisburg, and get to Amtrak from there, or take a shuttle to the airport.  It is still a big hassle no matter how I travel, as unless I hitch a ride with someone, I need to go to Harrisburg.

Or York, if I go by bus.

Mewtwo shrugged.  "I suppose."

Quickie smiled, grabbed a stick, sharpened the end into a point with a pocketknife, speared a marshmallow, and moved closer to the fire in order to toast it proper.  After a few minutes, she returned with the stick, the still-smoking marshmallow a golden brown.  "Careful, it's hot."  She handed it to Mewtwo.

Mewtwo stared at it for a moment, and then looked to Pyro, who was eating a marshmallow.  He returned his gaze to his own marshmallow and bit it off the stick, surprised by how soft and sticky the inside of it was.  He chewed at it for a while before finally working it down.

"Well?"

Mewtwo handed the stick back to Quickie.  "Interesting."

(I'm leaving for San Francisco tomorrow morning, so unless Wily comes online before I go to bed, the backstory will need to wait.)

As for my shoes... laces are not a problem.  I slip my shoes on and off regardless.

I have to remove my shoes, any belts, hand over my wallet, keys, change, random bits of paper, I go through the metal detector, the full-body scanner, and they STILL find a reason to pat me down.

I have to be up around five, so I can leave at six and be at the airport by seven, as my plane leaves at eight.

Early bedtime be damned, I know I'm not going to sleep well.  I never sleep well on nights before I need to go flying.  And it's not as if I'm uncomfortable with it, either.  I love flying.  I just can't sleep the night before I go.

Quickie glanced at him. "So, thinking of making more friends?  Or, just being smug?"

"I was merely stating the obvious," Mewtwo nodded.  "I did not factor the Pokemon into the equation."

"You don't see yourself as a Pokemon, do you?"

Mewtwo shook his head.  "I still do not know what exactly I am."

Quickie patted him on the shoulder.  "No one knows exactly who we are.  We have to find that out for ourselves."

(And Mewtwo's backstory will need to wait.  I'm going to bed.)

I'll be flying out on Tuesday and staying until the 18th.  The founder of Wookieepedia will also be coming.  I'll be wearing SW shirts.  I packed every shirt I have with Zuckuss on it.
