She just stared at me, then fell asleep when I went on a tirade about what makes a good game.  Then, I went outside, came back in, and she's still sleeping.

Okay, we settled on $100.  I'd rather do $150, as I did pay for two-day shipping and really, I'm not making any profit whatsoever, but at least I'm not doing this for absolutely nothing.

It's been nearly fifteen years since high school. 8D

And I'm still ruminating over this commission.  I've asked around, as I thought I was overcharging and have been told that my price is not only fair, but dirt cheap, compared to other artists.  One even said that I was short-changing myself and should charge much more just to make a profit!

Yeah, the shipping was about $17 for the plushie, but I felt it was worth it, as the price itself was still cheaper.  I did some comparisons and found that even with the expensive shipping, the total price was pretty much what I would pay for retail from other sellers.

Awesome! Where did you acquire it?

Amazon, through Pretty and Cool Shop.  Took a week for it to ship from Japan.  Not bad!

The Companion Cube I got at Celebration VI.

I take PayPal, much easier and the currency doesn't matter then.  So, yes, I accept Canadian currency.  Got banks that can convert it.

I'm going to negotiate the price, but I'm not going any lower than $100.  I need to make a profit, but that won't allow me to at all.  To cover the costs of supplies, mileage to get supplies, and shipping, that already equals to close to $100.  If I add in what I charge for labor, which is about $10 an hour, ($40 for four hours of work), that rounds it out to roughly $130, which I then added a $20 profit margin, which is really, really small.

As a freelancer, my rates have increased.  I had already quoted my price prior to going into this, and even though it was agreed upon, it still became a problem.  The bottom line is this: if you want something done for nothing, go find an amateur on dA.  Otherwise, expect to pay professional price for professional work.

Blargle.  Now I have to negotiate my asking price.  Is it any wonder I rarely do commissions?  Once payment comes around, no one thinks about the artist needing to make some sort of profit.  There's work and supplies involved, we don't pull images out of thin air.

"I don't suppose you'd like to join us," Quickie looked to Chariot, "We'll be up against some stiff competition.  Plenty of opportunity for battle with Team Rocket."  She returned to her outline. "So, the Alakazam.  We've taken that thing out before, we can do it again.  Somehow.  But, so long as it's not focused on us, we should be good.  So, um... happy thoughts?"

Quickie raised an eyebrow.  The display did eventually force a smile to her lips and she giggled.  "Alright, alright, so we need a plan.  We need more Pokemon and a plan.  And we need to figure it out, instead of wasting our time wondering what we should do."  She slid her backpack off one shoulder, swung it around to her front, opened it, and pulled out a pen and a notebook.  She sat down and opened it to a clean page.  "Here's what we got:  Team Rocket's got an arsenal and we need to be prepared.  They got stun poles that they're ready and willing to use not only on Pokemon, but on us, and let me tell you, those damn things hurt."  She scribbled down an outline.  "Thus, we need to figure out what we have at our disposal to counter those.  Ranged attacks would work best."

Quickie wrote some more. "We have a general gist of where they went.  A mountain.  Doesn't tell us much, but I saw the helicopter go that way," she pointed to the horizon, "so who's got a compass?  What direction is that and what mountains are over there?"  She paused for a moment.  "Wily went with them, as he used to work for them.  Anyone able to dig up anything on Wily?  We could use that information, perhaps triangulate a possible location."  Beside her, Mabel and Phoenix exchanged glances before Mabel pawed at Quickie's pen. "Not now," Quickie admonished quietly before continuing, "Sakura, if you can, see if Blood can track the guy who torched my restaurant.  Maybe we can get one of these pigs to squeal..."

Thankfully, I haven't passed any large stones lately.  Some small sediment, with intermittent aches, but nothing like my first stone.

In regards to scars... I haven't yet had stitches, knock on wood.  Plenty of scars from random mishaps and surgery, but no stitches.

Passing a large kidney stone still ranks top spot on my list of worse pains.  The pain was so bad that I was vomiting all the way to the hospital, and even in the waiting room.  Left me so dehydrated that I had IVs in both arms.

From a damn kidney stone.

I do not wish those on anyone.  They are truly awful.

I usually have a pretty high pain tolerance, but smashing my elbow or knee with practically have me in tears.

I smashed my left elbow good earlier.  Hit a nerve, too.  Mabel got to see me hop around the kitchen, clutching my arm, and whimpering like a puppy.

I was munching on some Goldfish crackers a bit ago.  Considering toasting a Pop Tart, as I've got the munchies.

Not sure why.

I see the joystick as being your body.  You lean back to look up, lean forward to look down.  Makes sense to me.
