"I don't ever plan to abandon him, not now, not ever," Quickie nodded.  "If we were to part ways, I'd rather it be his decision."  She loaded more garbage into the bag.  "I'm going to go check in on him, real quick, see if he needs anything... and then find a broom for all this small stuff."  She kicked at some debris and then went down the hall to her room.

"In short, I should be heading out with our group, but I can't yet because Mew-- err... my Pokemon is sick.  And I can't just leave him here, either.  So," she shrugged as she dumped more garbage into the back and began to inspect the broken door, "I don't know what to do."

Nurse Joy took off her gloves, fished in her pocket for a bandage and handed it and her gloves to Taylor.  "I'll get another pair."

Quickie gathered up the glass and debris scattered about and cast a look to the broken doors.  "Crazy day."

"Watch out for the glass!" Nurse Joy warned.

Quickie watched the Pokemon dash outside and considered following.  But, she had other matters to attend to, first, and she was not going to just leave Mewtwo alone at the Center.  She shook her head slowly, not sure what to do, as she picked up a sheet of glass, only for it to shatter on the floor, the Chansey jumping back.

The noise caught the attention of Nurse Joy.  "You alright?"

Quickie nodded and gave a nervous smile.  "Yeah.  Just clumsy."  Carefully, she bent and picked up the shards.

"It would be even fancier if... whatever didn't happen," Nurse Joy lamented, "but, these things happen.  Sometimes, you have inexperienced trainers battling in the lobby, unruly Pokemon throwing temper tantrums... Last month, we had a small fire because an Arcanine sneezed!" She stood and straightened her back.  "Honestly, I'm still not sure what happened outside.  Not just the Center's damaged, I hear.  We're lucky we didn't lose power."

Not far from Nurse Joy, Quickie considered speaking up to explain away the damage, but kept her thoughts confined to herself and the Chansey that followed her around.  She bent and lifted a large piece of drywall, which she held at an angle and kicked at in order to break it into smaller pieces.

Quickie retrieved some gloves from a Chansey and began to pick up debris.  "Crazy day, huh?" 

The Chansey nodded and held out the bag for Quickie to dump the debris in.

"Good thing this place was built to last," Quickie carefully picked up shards of glass and construction material, dumping it into the bag, "I don't suppose this kind of thing isn't too rare, I mean... other trainers probably dealt with psychic discharges.  I can't imagine it never happening before..."

The Chansey merely gave a sigh as it followed Quickie with the garbage bag.

Nurse Joy led Taylor to the desk as she pulled her gloves off and held them under one arm.  She put Taylor's Poke Balls on the tray of the transfer machine and then handed Taylor a keycard.  "Your Pokemon will be sent to your room later."  She excused herself, put her gloves back on, then went back to helping with the cleanup.  "Cafeteria's downstairs, and feel free to join in on this fun, if you want."  She smiled as she gathered broken drywall with both hands.

And if he doesn't he'll go in that little place that I refer to as "Fan-Games only" or people who solely exist to advertise/post about/post worthless "i'm hyped!" messages in the Fan Games board.

Not that I should be one to talk as I'm mostly "Off The Wall/Gaming Only" But then again that's 90% of the activity of this board.

After a few minutes, Nurse Joy left the room and headed for the lobby to assist in the cleanup.  A few minutes after that, Quickie stepped out of her room and looked back inside. "Hey, I'm gonna go help them clean up your mess.  I know you didn't intend for the damage, but no one really knows for sure that it was you, at least I don't think so.  You rest, I'll be back."  Closing the door, she headed for the lobby.

In the lobby, Nurse Joy put on some gloves and began to examine the broken doors.  She noticed Taylor coming over and smiled.  "I apologize for the mess... We're still functional, so you may come in.  I will need to make a statement with the police later, but if you require anything, do let me know."  She bent to pick up some debris and dump it into a garbage bag that was held by a helpful Chansey.

Meanwhile, in the Pokemon Center...

Nurse Joy stepped out of the room and nodded to Quickie.  "The antibiotics should do the trick, but I'll give it some medicine to lower the fever.  It should take no more than a couple days to start showing signs of improvement, and it will be over the infection in about a week.  Plenty of rest, keep it hydrated, and an over-the-counter fever-reducer is all it needs.  How cooperative is it with taking pills?"

Quickie shrugged. "He's cheeked stuff before..."

"I'll get you a pill gun, then, and show you how to use it," Nurse Joy walked away.  After a few minutes, she returned, an ice pack draped over her arm, a vial in one hand, and an oral syringe in the other.  "I'll warn you now, when you use one of these, you're pretty much asking to be bitten."

Quickie nodded. "As long as I don't lose a finger."  Chuckling, she and Nurse Joy disappeared into the room, not noticing Kojiro's spying from practically across the hall.

This week is to be in the mid-nineties, with the usual high humidity.  Pennsylvania has horrible swampy summers, and haze comes along for the ride.

Quickie walked down the hall to her room and entered it, finding Mewtwo sprawled on the bottom bunk.  "There you are!"  She walked up to him, noting that he had stirred when she spoke. "You put on quite a show out there," she sat on the edge of the bunk, "it seriously looks like a bomb went off out there.  Honestly, I wonder how they're going to write that off..."

"Psychic discharge," Mewtwo said half-heartedly.  He coughed and rolled onto his side.

Quickie nodded and reached to scratch him between the ears.  Only, she withdrew her hand and placed her palm flat on his brow. "Holy crap, you're burning up!"  She confirmed her findings by touching the tip of his ear, and then running her fingers through his fur. "And your fur feels just nasty!"

Mewtwo stared at her with a half-lidded gaze. "I did expel a large amount of energy not too much earlier."

"Yeah, and you did it while you were sick," Quickie folded her arms. "Just because that tracking device was the source of the infection, removing it doesn't mean you're magically cured."  She shook her head. "I didn't need to intern at a Pokemon Center years ago to know that," she nodded to Mewtwo, "though, that internship did tell me that high fevers and Psychic Pokemon are a bad combination."  She stood. "I'm going to go get Nurse Joy."

"No!" Mewtwo sat up quickly. "No, all I need is some sleep."

Quickie folded her arms again. "Who is she going to tell?  Unless a trainer signs a release, then what condition their Pokemon are in are of no business to other people, let alone the kind of Pokemon." She sighed and put her hand on Mewtwo's shoulder. "Look, all Nurse Joy will do is check you over and take care of that fever.  She's not going to turn you in to Team Rocket, or the authorities, or anything like that.  Her job is to care for sick and injured Pokemon, and you fall into one of those categories right now."

It took a moment, but Mewtwo's stubbornness finally relented. "Very well.  Go fetch her."

Quickie smiled at him and headed for the door. "The sooner we take care of this, the better."  With that, she left the room.

After a long moment, noting that he hadn't been seen, Mewtwo pulled himself to his feet and made his way to a side door, disappearing into the Center.  He found his room, overrode the lock, staggered in, and flopped down on the bottom bunk, utterly exhausted.  He idly remembered his computer, left on the desk in Wily's room.  No matter, the device was locked, and only he was able to access it.

Mewtwo yawned and scratched at an itch.  His head was still swimming and had begun to take on a dull ache.  His eyes burned and watered with each blink, so he closed them and ignored how uncomfortably warm his eyelids were.  Some sleep should ease that sensation, as it would his developing headache and the odd aches under his arms.  He just hoped that no one would request him to use his powers at that capacity right away.  Overriding locks and other minor acts were one thing, rewriting a person's psyche was another.

After a long moment, Mewtwo opened his eyes and raised his head with a loud hissing inhale.  He yawned and blinked a few times, his blurry vision finally clearing, noticing the new trainer and their four unfamiliar Pokemon standing nearby.  As far as he could tell, they did not pay him much mind, but he froze where he was.  His head was feeling several sizes too big, stuffed with cotton.
