"That is an excellent idea!"  Yeung seemed pleased.  He turned around and continued down the hallway, gesturing excitedly. "We'll get started on the testing right away, prep it for the procedure, and the sooner we can begin, the sooner we'll have results as to what to expect with Mewtwo..."

Domino gave Joe a glare before looking back to Yeung. "What did I just say about not using our agents as test subjects?"

"It would keep them cooperative," Domino nodded.

"So, where did these clones come from?" Yeung asked as he led them down the hall. "I don't recall any of our labs working on any other cloning projects.  As far as I know, the projects were scrapped after Mewtwo, because other clones didn't survive."

"These aren't our clones," Domino nodded. "Mewtwo made them."

Yeung stopped and turned around, staring at Domino, dumbfounded.

Domino nodded again. "You heard me.  Mewtwo made those clones."

"But how?!"  Yeung was flabbergasted. "How did it create them?  How long ago did it create them?  How?  HOW?!"

"That's what Giovanni wants us to find out," Domino folded her arms, "which is why we need to delay the procedure.  We need that information out of Mewtwo, first."  She put her arms to her side. "Look, I want Mewtwo back in our control as much as anyone, but I'm not sure how articulate it would be after becoming a Shadow Pokemon.  I'd like to get any information out of it, first.  Just in case."

"Understood," Yeung nodded. "We haven't tried this procedure on a talking Pokemon, like Mewtwo.  It can be questioned while we run tests."

Yep.  Ringman and I cracked open a laptop, following a tutorial on YouTube.

"If you really want one," Domino shrugged.  She looked to Yeung. "Meowth is not a part of this project and he should stay out of it.  Examine him if you think he needs it, but don't do anything else.  I will not have you making agents into test subjects."

"Understood," Yeung nodded as he led them into the secure wing. "It does seem attached to those clones, though.  Acts like it knows them."

I had my Dell for eight years and aside from a few hiccups, it still works fine.  Three years isn't that old if you take care of your computer.  If it's a fan problem, you can replace the fan.  Plenty of tutorials on YouTube to follow on how to do it.  But, I think just getting a can of compressed air and blasting the fan vents should do the trick.  May just be dust.

As for backing up anything, do it just to be on the safe side, but the problem sounds to me like a temperature control issue.

Domino started for the door. "Did you get the other clones?"

Yeung nodded, following. "Yes, along with a talking Meowth.  I'd like to find out how it can speak, as it's really quite fascinating."

Domino swallowed and cringed again. "Yeah, Meowth is actually one of our agents.  I'd prefer to keep him out of this.  He and his teammates tend to just... stumble into things like this.  I'll talk to him and arrange boarding."

Yeung nodded again. "It's with the other clones, currently.  I'll take you to them."  He stepped in front of Domino and Joe and led them down the hall.

"If that is the case, then I shall escape," Mewtwo nodded, "unless you feel that I should do something else.  If this trial is merely a matter of whether or not I listen to Team Rocket, then I will simply refuse to obey."

Domino and Joe arrived at the Pokemon Institute and met with Dr. Yeung. "Sorry we're late, stopped for a bite."  She held up a bag of food.

"Not a problem," Yeung smiled. "We've got a holding pen set up, so we could transfer Mewtwo at any time."

"Police say the earliest would be tomorrow morning," Domino shook her head, "they want to question it further."

"I see," Yeung nodded. "Well, when it arrives, we can get the examination out of the way, then get started.  Cipher's team has already arrived, and they're anxious to start working on Mewtwo."

Domino cringed at the thought, but kept herself from showing any emotion. "Giovanni wants us to question it, first.  Then, we can begin."

"Fine.  Just avoid delaying the procedure any more than need be."

Mewtwo nodded slowly. "The sooner I can be there to protect my friends, the better.  So help those humans if they hurt any of them..."

Back in the holding cell, Mewtwo still maintained the connection to the minds in the Pokemon Institute. "There is something wrong... a sense of unease...  They are all anxious to be released, and Meowth is worried... he is with them..." he paused and closed the connection, opening his eyes and looking at Ryuta. "I must see them.  How soon are they to transfer me?"

I also want to get a TV, so I can finally hook up my DVD player.  It's all-regions, so I can import DVDs. :D

Mewtwo nodded and took a moment to recover.  He returned to his crouch, closed his eyes, and concentrated.  It was easier to reestablish the connection, and quieter, now that he did not need to scan every mind within a three-mile radius.  Taking in a long, slow, deep breath, he focused, listening to what the Charizard was observing...

If you have any canned air, try blasting some in the fan vents.  Might just need a dusting.

Might be due to heat.  Try setting up a fan behind it.

The guard shrugged. "As long as it's not doing anything to compromise the case, or harming anyone, or causing any damage, I don't care what it does.  I'm just paid to make sure it doesn't get out of hand."

Mewtwo nodded and took a long moment to collect his thoughts.  He closed his eyes and focused.  He needed to find a link... one of his clones, perhaps...  Scanning the minds in the station, he found Meowth in another room, and then searched the Pokemon's mind for a link.  It took a few minutes, but he was able to find the Charizard.  All he needed to do was extend the search, and find the link...

Taking in a long, deep breath, Mewtwo concentrated, expanding the scan.  This was usually something he avoided doing often, as it expended energy, and establishing links to the various minds around him filled his head with a distracting cacophony of thoughts that he would need to sift through.  It also didn't help that he wasn't sure where exactly the Pokemon Institute was.  The myriad of streams of consciousness flooded into his brain as he expanded his search.

"--open the door and I'm ready to roll--"

"--hungry, should get something to eat--"

"--car keys--"

"--blatant self-indulgent--"

"--such a mess--"

"--this traffic! I oughta--"

"--the smell of--"

Mewtwo grit his teeth, focusing harder.  He had to find the Charizard...  Find his clone and link to its mind...  Focus...  Focus on the Charizard...

"--humans are doing?  They're talking about--"

Found him, Mewtwo established the long-distance connection and held it for several minutes, listening.  Unfortunately, the majority of what he heard was complaining about being inside of a Poke Ball.  Though, there was something else... Sucking in his breath, Mewtwo focused the connection and tried to listen in.  He heard a voice, though faint, and he held the tenuous connection just to pick up a few words.

"--when it's transferred here tomorrow morning.  We can get started right away, then.  So long as it's cooperative, we can--"

The connection was lost, and Mewtwo pitched forward, palms hitting the floor before him.  He panted as the thoughts of the hundreds of minds vanished and he opened his eyes.  The room swayed as his head swam through a gelatinous sea of a dull ache.  "I... could not keep the link for long..." he swallowed. "Too many voices..."

"That's what I thought," Archie nodded. "I'll go file it in evidence, then..." He turned to walk away.

Mewtwo fell silent for a long moment, thinking about the last time that Officer Jenny spoke to him.  "The officer said that whatever the Pokemon Institute does to me will be punishment enough.  What did she mean by that?  Were I not just to be transferred and held there, barring a simple examination?"

Mewtwo bowed his head.  "Their Meowth, the template for one of my clones, was among my friends when Team Rocket attacked our home.  They attempted to capture him, along with my clones.  To them, he was but a means to an end, to be captured and used in experiments.  Him and the Pikachu clone template."  He paused.  "Meowth had taught me the error of my ways, then.  How just forgetting about things does not change the fact that they happen."

Soon, the "all clear" was given, and Archie opened the door to the Computer Crimes division.  The air still stank of Stun Spores and it made his eyes water and his throat itch, but it was otherwise breathable.  He made his way across the station as other staff were setting up an industrial fan to blow the remaining spores outside, and he found Officer Jenny emerging from a nearby bathroom, followed by Misty.  Archie jogged up to her.  "Ma'am, ma'am, I need to speak with you for a moment."  He pointed to his office.  "I can't get into Mewtwo's computer.  I mean, at all.  It's a slab.  From what I gathered, only it can access it, and right now, we really have no other option.  I can't open it at all, no screws or anything, and I am not about to damage personal property."

Misty's eyes widened. "You can't get into his computer?  What kind is it?"

"It's a slab.  It's literally a slab," Archie answered before returning his gaze to Jenny. "Your cousin mentioned the possibility of setting up a meeting with Mewtwo, and having it access the computer, while we supervise and keep it under heavy surveillance.  I just need it to get the computer up and running, I can handle the rest."

My nephews have a habit of touching my stuff, particularly my figures.  They were messing with my Mewtwo figure last time they were here, and I didn't catch them doing so, as I was putting the cat in her carrier and getting some things together.

And when I was living in a dorm, I was strapped with the responsibility of watching a new roommate's siblings as she moved in, and they all wanted to play with my figures, which I repeatedly said "no."  No one even asked me if I would watch those kids, the responsibility was dumped in my lap.

What kind of parent dumps that responsibility into the lap of someone they don't even know?

(Hopefully some kind soul had dragged her into another room.)

The guards in the holding cell made sure that the door was closed and Mewtwo was still crouched in the corner.  He looked to Ryuta, then to the guards. "Are my clones safe?  They were protected from the Stun Spores, correct?"

can we just lock all kids under 15 in some big ol' cell and wait a few years for the strongest and most cunning to emerge victorious from it? i think that'd be good population control and promise some betterment of the new leading generations

I support this, too.

Time to go lock my niece and nephews and any cousins in a cell!

The reason for the murder?  The guy said that he wanted to go to prison.

THERE ARE EASIER WAYS TO GET SENT TO PRISON!
