*As the AC was cranked higher and higher, Hemlock began to shiver, but he did not awaken from his trance.* "So... c-cold..."


*Birch was silent for a very long moment as he looked over his work.  He was noticeably distracted and it took him a minute to remember what he wanted to talk about.*  "I know we've just gotten some bad news, and I'll put something in the newsletter about this... but we need to move on.  There have been more reports of leucistic Pokemon in Ransei, Oblivia, and the Orange Archipelago.  Also, our tests have determined that that Shiny Zigzagoon is indeed infected with the same type of Pokerus and it's losing its color.  It's still in early stages of the infection, and we've been able to determine that it's definitely Patient Zero for the pack's infection.  However, we haven't yet been able to determine how it got infected."

*Mulberry was similarly distracted as he fiddled with something at Hypno's workstation.  It was a pendulum, which he slipped into his pocket.  He turned and looked to Birch and Mr. P.* "You know... with how the disease is spreading from region to region... It's entirely possible that Trainers could actually be carrying it.  Perhaps a Trainer is a stop-off for the virus.  The Trainer gets it from a leucistic Pokemon, and they carry it to another region where they infect other Pokemon."

Yeah, if you don't rough the surface up a bit, you'd end up having to use a ceramic glaze and refire it. 

If you have any fine-grain sandpaper (any fine grain will do), just give the bank a good buff to rough it up.  This is going to be messy, so either do it outside, or somewhere where you can easily clean up all the dust.  Try not to breathe the dust, either.  You don't have to rough it up a lot, just enough to give the paint a decent surface. 

Once that's done, you should be able to paint it without too much trouble.  If the surface is still too smooth, sand it down a bit more.

What kind of paint did you use?  What's the surface like on the bank?  Is the surface too smooth?  Was it glazed when you got it?  If it's just too smooth a surface, take a fine-grain sandpaper and rough it up.  That should help the paint stick better.

*Back inside the lab, Mulberry had dragged himself back upstairs.  He pulled off his coat and draped it over the back of his chair, and sat, looking at Hypno's vacant workstation.  He heaved a heavy sigh, and then looked to Mr. P.*  "This is going to sound weird...  If there haven't been any arrangements made yet... I'd like to have his ashes.  It's been years since I was a Trainer, but he was like my Pokemon..."

They could all see that it was sick, so why are they so surprised?  It wasn't very useful to us, and it slowed us down!"

*He fell silent again and sat.  In the corner of the lab was the robot that Hypno had built, and his work station was still as he left it, save for some of his work having been finished by Mulberry.  The cloakroom still contained the Pokemon's other lab coat, along with some personal items.  At the moment, Birch intended to leave them all alone.  He had no plans to clean out the locker, or even remove the name from its door.*

"Hemlock, get your coat and leave."  *Birch's voice was level and threatening.*

"But, I--"

"GET OUT." *Birch pointed to the door.*  "Look, I can take your snide remarks about me.  But, you've been dumping on that poor Hypno ever since he started here.  He died from a seizure, and you still have the nerve to keep it up!  I will not have you creating a hostile work environment, and I will not have you slandering a disabled Pokemon!  Get out!"

*Hemlock glared at him, and then at Mr. P.*  "You won't get away with this."  *With that, he stormed off, grabbed his coat, and left, slamming the door behind him.*

*Birch slumped in a chair and let out a breath, shaking his head.* "If Mulberry sees him downstairs, I hope he punches him again..."

*Mulberry nodded and finally picked up his drink.  He considered going back to the lab, but he needed a moment.  Though, he admitted to feeling some sort of satisfaction from punching Hemlock in the face.*  That was for you, little buddy...

*Sucking in his breath, Mulberry rubbed at his eyes.*

"The others are upstairs... I just went on break...  I'm going to stay down here a little longer... maybe go outside and get some air."
