Sorry Superdee, but the thread's staying open for now. The details still get discussed enough to warrant it being open. That said though, I do think this thread is brutally off track, even for RPM standards. XD

If the fireflower in SMG1 is any indication, we're all [tornado fang]'d when it comes to Yoshi.

Then again, there was that cool upward ascending spin jump Mario & Yoshi could do in Sunshine...

This week's Famitsu confirms that Yoko Shimomura is the composer for Xenoblade. There is no article for the game, but there was a huge article where they showcased all the major videogame composers and had a writeup + q&a with each of them. In Shimomura's profile it specifically says that right now she is working on composing Last Ranker and Xenoblade.

Awesome music get. XD

Kubo basically addressed the people following him saying he had been informed about this issue from beforehand and things were going along as they should. Then he makes an offhand comment stating that he's actually more concerned about the fact that Gene Simmon's kid is a mangaka than the whole plagiarism issue. XD

Oh Jesus, I caught on to this so late, but some of the stuff I saw is [tornado fang]ing hilarious. I also love how Kubo handled the whole situation. XD

SMB2USA discussion? All I'll say is Nintendo should revisit that formula one more time. Maybe a New! Super Mario Bros. 2 would be good for it? XD

Also, I think I've found my new favorite piece of Nintendo promo art ever:

Gaming / Metroid: Other M Info
« on: February 24, 2010, 07:53:17 PM »
The amazing thing about this summit's developments are that now, it's [tornado fang]ing open season in terms of speculation for what Nintendo's going to bring to E3 2010. Zelda is a given now.

PR For Metroid: Other M gives away massive new info on how the game plays:

Quote
Metroid™: Other M, the incredible new Metroid game developed for Wii through a collaboration by Nintendo and the world-renowned Team Ninja, launches June 27. The game looks at the classic franchise from a new perspective: While much of the game is reminiscent of 2-D side-scrollers, players can switch the perspective into 3-D at any time as they explore the twisting passages of a derelict space station and delve deep into a cinematic, never-before-told story of bounty hunter Samus Aran’s past. This new approach uses a new control scheme in which players use the Wii Remote™ controller held sideways to battle enemies and navigate the expansive, gorgeous environments in classic Metroid fashion, then aim at the screen with the Wii Remote pointer to blast foes in first-person and hunt the world for clues and hidden passages.

Gaming / Nintendo Media Summit Thread
« on: February 24, 2010, 04:11:12 PM »
You know the drill. Roughly two hours from now, Nintendo is set to make a few announcements. The fun part all lies in guess whether or not we'll love the news or pass it off as a big meh. You can follow a live "feed" of the event by following the official Nintendo of America twitter page. If you were to ask me about what we can reasonably expect, I'd say expect a bit of coverage on Monster Hunter Tri's marketing and release date, DSi XL, some games we knew about but didn't have any info on getting some air time, and maybe one or two good surprises.

Holiday 2010: Zelda.

I thought we had this cleared earlier.

The internet refuses to believe that Mario, Zelda & Metroid can all be out within a year of each other (2002 & 2006 - 2007 be damned). It's as if they're more content to [sonic slicer] about what's not coming out and lacking software lineup rather than read the writing on the wall that Big Boss painted using Aonuma's blood, sweat & tears. XD

On a funny related note, I was recently watching the LP of Sonic Unleashed, and I've come to one hell of an epiphany, something that really deserves a "derp" on my end. The Sonic fanbase is so incredibly jaded. Seriously, how wasn't that game better received?

Methinks Mario's getting the honors Tai. Metroid seems to be the late summer/early fall fling going by past releases.
