I am going to walk into a Gamestop tomorrow without a prior pre-order for the game, try to [i.e. battle my wallet conscience and] buy it for a console I don't even own, and wait in the hopes that someone will get me said console, or life sees fit to let me actually save some money from my current job towards it...

Yeah, I'm boned out of the Day 1 madness. XD

Lookin at some of the discussions here, I take it I'd be horrible for a few of you guys at 100%. I'd really love to get some form of IRL RPM Smash tournament going if I had the chance, just to see how well I'd truly match up against you all. 8)

You know, here's a good random video game thought. For all the advocating I do for StarTropics 3, I really have to wonder now how they'd re-interpret the series for current times. Would Zoda still be the recurring villian? Would the Argonian children excluding Mica get any kind of development? Hell, would there really be a "plot"? Would/could Mica be playable? How about Mike? Would he be (as I hoped waaay back when) something along the lines of Yusuke from Yu Yu Hakusho personality wise?

Then there's the actual game itself. Would they try and translate the gameplay into 3D while keeping the linear dungeon crawling & platforming or would they go the Zelda route and just give the game a jump feature? Hell, what if they got creative and did something in a Zelda 2 like fashion? I know I'd play a side scrolling StarTropics. Finally, they'd better make Mike's [chameleon sting]ing Island YoYo and it's bad ass forms (Shooting Star & Supernova) his canonical signature weapon. Everyone uses swords, martial arts, magic, & guns, but it takes a certain kind of awesome to use just a yo yo. XD

That ends this random thought.

I forgot to say that, yesterday I played these games on a demo stand in a game store.

* Mirror's Edge (PS3)
* Dragonball Z Burst Limit (360)
* Kung Fu Panda (360)

And (gasp) I had fun playing them~ >U<
The cutscenes in Dragonball Z was silly tho. The characters over-reacts a lot, their emotions were kinda stiff and the actors were kinda the same too, not so much emotions on there... just like in animes. 8D </wii>

Just came by to say that Mirror's Edge is such an awesome game. Really, it is. XD

LOL, I wanted to post that one! XD

Meanwhile, this recession sucks for so many reasons on the gaming side alone. One big reason is the fact that SEGA of Japan is supposedly closing 118 arcades, canceling many of their internally developed games and cutting their workforce by about 18% due to some budgeting woes. This is after I found out earlier today that Midway filed a Chapter 11.

TL;DR - Mah companies, they be shuttan down. :(

My hype for this game has reached astronomical proportions and I'm more of the passive fan... I only wish if I could partake in the release day madness, but alas, no PS3/360 and the PC port doesn't seem to be coming around for quite some time.

Either way, game looks excellent and will be bought by me come hell or high waters. 8)

What Neko, my dear friend, is trying to imply here is:
Nekomata and Hitomi Agada are one and the same person. And she is by no means a mod.

I hope my humble post helped to clarify this matter.

Needed more monocle, but this works. XD

Random thoughts on video games you say? Well, here's one. Am I the only one who thinks that Super Mario Galaxy really has some of the best art direction ever seen in a video game to date? Sometimes, I wonder if that's what Super Mario Bros. 3 would have looked like if it were made for these times. I really don't know what it is though about the style that stands out to me though, it's the same old characters & to an extent level designs, but something about the actual art behind it and lush use of color just really left a great impression on me.

I'd love to get a hold of a book filled with concept art for the game sometime. That'd be a holy grail for me.

Famitsu reviews in:

-Wii/PS2 version - 8/8/8/9 - 33/40 (apparently... need confirmation)
-360/PS3 version - 9/9/9/8 - 35/40

Now, you'll see reports of 8/8/8/9 - 33/40. That is from Famitsu 360, the one that mostly handles 360 titles. The one above is official Famitsu one.

Well... look at that. Bet you some part of the internet just broke out the flamethrowers.

GAF swears that SEGA paid them off to get those scores. XD

Personally, I just think that the Japanese gaming community is more in tune with games still. It's not the first time I've said or noticed it.

So who's up for playing a few matches with me sometime in the future? The main reason for asking this is I now have another character joining my elite Smasher ranks, and he's totally out of left field. Can't guess who it is? Meet me online to find out! 8)

Man, I got a long way to go on the manga side and has it finished yet/ Anyway, FMA 2 must follow the manga or it will be just another sequel to a surprisingly annoying show.

Huh?

I want the same lightheartedness that the manga had.

The New York Comic Con grows every year, and gets better and better.  They predict that soon, it'll be bigger than the San Diego Comic Con.

It'd be pretty awesome if the east (actually, just NYC 8D) would start getting expos of this caliber more frequently. I'd kill for an E3 or something like that becoming a staple in Manhattan every year or two! 8)
